What Figure Line is Your Focus?

- Companies are putting out some solid offerings already in 2024. Which lines are you spending the most focus and money on so far this year, and does it look like that's going to change with upcoming releases?

I also saw a Mythic Legions wizard who - with a little custom work - would make a decent Vizier for Odin !

I focus on Marvel Legends and Gi joe classified series.

I missed the live chat though. 😔My focus is pretty much exclusively Marvel Legends now (though I wish Hasbro would up their game, it's frustrating the lack of essential characters to complete team and villains and R&D/QC issues). I pretty much completed my DC Universe Classics collection and the McFarlane DC figures are unfortunately not in scale, so I'm not going to start a new DC collection. That wouldn't make sense. I really wish the McFarlane John Stewart GL and Animal Man were to scale to DCUC though! Would love to add those characters.
Only two things keep me from collecting GI Joe - my wallet and my lack of space. It would cost me a fortune to get a decent GI Joe collection started, but even if I had the cash for it, there's just no room. I'm having to perform miracles to add new ML figures into the limited space! LOL! And I'd love to create a Star Wars collection, but same issue. So for now, I just focus on Marvel Legends. I'm always looking out for alternative company characters that can fit in with the DCUC and ML figures. For example, I got a six-pack set of the Spero Animal Kingdom figures that work perfectly as New Men for the High Evolutionary. They work perfectly in that role. I'm very happy with that! And I recently got Anubis and Bastet from Mythic Legions and am hoping they release the other Egyptian gods, and I'm adding the to my cast of Thor characters - even though they don't look like the Egyptian god characters from the 1970s Thor issues. They still look AMAZING! I've also seen some Mythic legions knights and other characters that would look pretty good as generic Asgardians.
I also throw in things like the GI Joe Trouble Bubble as an A.I.M. / Hydra vehicle. Thinking of getting some Star Wars items as well, to use as inventions of those organizations. And I've been getting various Extreme Sets and customizing them as playsets for both ML and DCUC. Extreme Sets released an amazing ancient Egyptian playset, so I gotta get that! Can't wait for Odin and then I gotta look on Etsy for a decent throne for him. Do you (or anyone else here) have some suggestions for a throne for Odin?
Space is becoming a real challenge in my collection. There's some completed lines that I need to figure out how to properly display everything now.

Hey Jeff, couldn't make the live today but wanted to tune in and chime in with my comments. It's funny that this would be your topic because I have recently been having serious thoughts about hyper focusing on one line of figures. I feel like some of my anxiety would be lifted if I could focus on 1 line, being that space and money are limiting factors. That being said, I haven't pulled the trigger on that idea just yet, so we'll see.
So to answer your question, my #1 focus with action figure collecting is Marvel Legends. I feel like I can ride this line all the way into the sunset. In the past, I would have said Star Wars Black Series was in the #2 spot, but it seems GI Joe Classified series has swooped in and taken over that slot. That puts SW Black Series at #3 currently. #4 used to be Transformers, but I've actually stopped collecting them and put a bunch on eBay.
After these, I just cherry pick Mafex for D.C., SH Figuarts for Star Wars and Mezco for Marvel. I'm going to try to grab all the Jada Street Fighter figs too.

@@LylesFigureFiles I got out of Transformers out of necessity really. If money and space were infinite, I would collect everything that was cool but while I'm still unemployed, I can't do it. Had a major set back with the job hunt and now I'm back to square one. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger right? Anyway, glad you're lovin' the Ferret! Enjoy it man. Yoooo Joe!
BBTS is so Big they don't know their own girth. They are my#1 e-tailer due to the esoteric nature of import -not found in stores-toys they keep in stock. Plus the pile of loot feature and the four dollar flat rate shipping. If I see something in the wild, especially@ Ross, Burlington,Ollie's etc, I tend to cop that item right on the spot,then cancel the bbts pre-order or Amazon or EE. In hand and deal beats all pre-orders. BBTS succeeds more than they fail.
I was asking for blackheart too. But they tied him in a wave of mfs I don't want. Ugh lol
...and it seems like this BAF might not be as tall as I'd want. I bought one of those stranger things demogorgon-whatevers at a discounted price some time ago, so I might just get the blackheart head, some black and blue spray paint, and have a more appropriate figure than the toybiz to be a part of my MvC2 lineup.

What i did was collect marvel legends that were only in marvel universe trading cards series 1&2.
That's a good way to go. How many do you have left?
@LylesFigureFiles Series 1 missing Mephisto, missing 4 of the comic Guardians of the Galaxy, and Nomad. SERIES 2 is a lot harder. A lot of the villains they have not made, so I'm giving up on thous. They just made a Series 2 Deaths Head for SDCC THAT WILL BE MY LAST when they make him for a non-exclusive. Series 1 is what I tell everyone to do. SERIES 1 does win or lose. 2 does power level, which is why I have thous cards for the hero's. It's a nice way to display.
