- Breaking down the June 2024 Marvel Legends livestream reveals. Some figures look to be contenders for best in the entirety of the Marvel Legends line while some other choices are much more puzzling and confusing.

I’m actually a huge fan of these reveals. A new Phoenix has been number one on my wishlist since I started collecting since I missed out on her, and my supernatural/magic shelf is so empty compared to my other shelves, especially since I love all the monsters and demons of Marvel. Personally, I was eating good with this stream

To clarify: That's an update of Dr. Voodoo, from his brief stint in the comics as sorcerer supreme. When he's in that black costume with the cloak of levitation and eye of Agamotto, he's Dr. Voodoo.
Hasbro released that version as part of the SDCC exclusive Books of Vishanti box set in 2015.
They released a modern " Brother Voodoo shortly after for commercial release as part of the Dormammu BAF wave. On that one, his cape is tattered and there's no eye of Agamatto.
Why either of these got an update before we got a classic Brother Voodoo is beyond me 😂😭

Great video recap, as always! As you know, I've been asking for a Brotherhood-era Rogue for years. She's actually been my most-wanted X-Men character. And I can happily breathe in relief; I think they nailed this version almost perfectly. The severe faceprint doesn't bother me; it would be nice if we had the option of a different head sculpt, but we won't. Dwight said both figures in the two-pack would come with alternate hands, and I think that's their sole accessories. So I hope your heart doesn't break about that.
And speaking of the two-pack, I am so happy with how this turned out. Like you, I was expecting Destiny and Mystique after Rektangular's leak. I already have a solid Mystique, I don't need another one--and I wasn't going to buy a two-pack just for Destiny. But packing her with my beloved Rogue is excellent. I can't wait for this set. My favorite reveal of the stream.
Phoenix took me by surprise, and I'm thrilled. The buck, the paint, the flame effects and bird... it's all so glorious. Is the hair perfect? No. Honestly, though, they've made like seven Jean Grey figures now and I don't think they've gotten her head right yet. I don't think I've ever been this excited about X-Men reveals in a stream before.
When Rektangular leaked a Professor X was coming, I foolishly hoped it would be a Bronze Age version with a normal wheelchair, not that Jim Lee-designed contraption. Alas, it's this weird version from an era of X-Men comics that I don't care about or collect. Well, I hope the fans are happy with this one.
Odin. Wow... Big boy. I have a feeling he'll be really expensive, and as awesome as he looks, I don't know if I'll bite right now. If there were more Asgardians like Balder the Brave and the Warriors Three, then yeah, Odin would be a no-brainer. But at this point, I've only got one Thor on my shelf and he's posed with the Avengers. Odin doesn't have a place.
As for the Strange Tales wave... Ugh. I've been wanting a Marvel Horror wave, but not like this. Not. Like. This. Look, all of these figures look great. Even the weird inclusions look fantastic. But I have no interest in these figures, or rather these incarnations. I LOVE Brother Voodoo, but I want the original look! I LOVE Tomb of Dracula, but I want the Gene Colan look! I lo--well, like Damon Hellstrom, the Son of Satan, but I want the original version! At least his inclusion gives me hope that Mephisto will be released on his own. I might *might* get Lilith, as I do have a fond memory of reading the Spirits of Vengeance crossover, and I got the Ketch Ghost Rider coming, so, might as well.
But yeah, sign me up for Rogue, Destiny, and Phoenix. And maybe Lilith. Women only this round.
For real, now the only X-Men characters I need are classic Banshee, Kitty in her training outfit, and Perez-style Beast.

I hope we get a Professor X in that jumpsuit look in a regular wheelchair so I can switch the one that came with the hoverchair with that one.
It is funny how Jean hasn't had a great head sculpt yet. But I suppose neither has Emma. Scott can't get any love.
I'm so nowhere close to being done with X-Men. So are you not getting characters like the Imperial Guard?

@@LylesFigureFiles I thought about collecting the Starjammers and the Imperial Guard, but that would be a big commitment for characters I only kind of like. Plus, it would take a minimum of ten Imperial Guards to feel like I had a significant amount of them to be worth it, and how many have they made? Two? I’d rather collect a line of Legion of Super-Heroes, who the IG ripped off anyway.
Completely agree, Rogue wore that outfit when she first joined the X-men so it would make sense that she has an alternative face sculpt to show here change in character. though her costume by then had white stripes instead of light green so maybe it's one for customising!
I wanted classic Drac too but I do understand they can’t make every figure just for us old heads. Modern collectors need love too. Lol
Yeah, I get it. That's why going with a classic theme wasn't a great idea for them. Without that tag I doubt folks would be upset about the lineup.

I love X-men but i would have preferred Rachel Summers Phoenix to complete my Excalibur team. 🤷🏽♂️

I love how they reveal that Warlord Charles Xavier figure after we talked about it on Thursday, but not enthusiastic it's going to be a Walmart exclusive. That just kills any chances of me picking that up in the wild as none of my local Walmarts carry any of the exclusives. Maybe I might get lucky online, but I'm not holding my breath since I missed out on the other Uncanny X-Men 275 3-packs were on sale on Hasbro Pulse before they sold out recently. The Hasbro team did say they were open to rereleasing this with the gold/magenta color if there's interest so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that popping up in the future X-Men 97 waves.

Would have preferred classic versions of Brother Voodoo, Dracula, and Son of Satan.
Substitute Satanna in her horns, purple bodysuit, and fur boots for Lilith along with your suggestions, and you’re on your way to an absolutely killer wave.

This makes it difficult for me to decide should I stick with my MAFEX pre order Phoenix who doesn’t even come with the Phoenix or cancel for this one. Another rough part is I don’t need majority of the wave, however the build a figure Blackheart is essential for the collection.
That Black heart baf could be a cool MCU lizard with a little tooling .
I'm not seeing it, but I'm not as imaginative with part reuse as some folks :-)

I was definitely counting Jane and Erik as Thor variants. I wouldn't put the Wrecking Crew, Absorbing Man and Gargoyle as Thor-related since they fight everyone. They have done a decent amount, just missing some major names.

The stange tales wave took me by surprise i thought we were going to get figures from the 60s comic line but it was more mystical character focused now im wondering what they are going to do about the rumored secret wars wave is it just going to be based on the jonathan hickman run and not the 80s story
Ugh, don't speak the Hickman characters into that wave. And I liked Hickman's Secret Wars. There's just more figures I want from the classic one first. Wouldn't mind more Avengers from Hickman's run though.
Nah it’s definitely going to be the old one no way it isn’t they’ve been teasing it for a while we got dr doom , Monica , and rogue even though rogue isn’t marketed as secret wars and Ik it’s her first appearance look it’s still from secret wars and its the 40th anniversary for the old secret wars
I’m still preying for a Villains we haven’t gotten yet in figure form box set for Haslab, 🙏🙏🙏, Baron Mordo, Wizard, Fixer, Trapster, U-Foes, Red Ghost, Graviton, Attuma, and Skurge the Executioner.
That Phoenix is cool to see on the Warbird buck, but I honestly don't feel the need for another Jean Grey/Phoenix. I wish they could have sold the stand and Phoenix entity separate as I just want those for the Dark Phoenix from the TRU 2-Pack. I'm just not feeling the head sculpts here.
Hope you're well, Jeff. I've got to say, this is the first time in a year or more that anything Hasbro has made me want to make a comment other than 'meh' (being in hospital a lot & having no money hasn't helped - know that feeling?) but I am absolutely LOVING these X-figures.
Not only does the Rogue & Destiny 2-pack mean a COMPLETE Claremont era Brotherhood (Mystique, Destiny, Rogue, Avalanche, Pyro, Blob) & Freedom Force (as above, plus Spiral & Julia Carpenter Spider-Woman). This is a first for HML, btw: a complete, very cool heel team. Rogue looks great and so does Destiny. Great stuff, full stop, delighted - have needed this for 43 years.
Another Jean Grey Phoenix so soon after the (excellent) retro carded version was a bit heartbreaking: this is Rachel Summer's long overdue time to shine, and I'm still not seeing Phoenix II, (AKA Hound, Prestige, Marvel Girl II, Mother Askani etc.). They could have done just a swap head, but....sigh.
Fascinated that no-one on CZcams seems to know that Bloodstorm is Storm from Mutant X. Sure, this is a 26 year old comic that ran for three years, but it had some of the most interesting alternate reality X-Men ever: Havok's best costume; Angel as The Fallen (a sadistic serial killer); a dumb Hulk version of Beast (Brute) and um, Iceman as Iceman, but in happier, pre-forced Diversity times.
The rest of the wave - with the exception of Haslab refugee Damon Hellstrom (has anyone mentioned this?) and a sweet BAF, is a mixed bag.
Love to be able to say: I've GOT to get these, because I do with at least 4 figures.

I couldn't believe they started Mutant X. I loved Alex's treatment in that series too. Such a fun Quantum Leap style story for him that worked.
Well, maybe there's a use for the Retro card Dark Phoenix and call her Rachel? With some head sculpt that would make sense of course.

Great livestream. Odin looks amazing with all of that detail and color and accessories! Love Phoenix with flame base. Armored Dracula is just the costume I wanted for him, and the figure looks great. Very cool to get Hellstrom. I have mixed feelings about the wave,but Blackheart looks like a significant upgrade over the Toy Biz version. Probably a must-have.
I'm digging all the obvious work that went into Odin! Sounds like another satisfied customer with Dracula. What were your mixed feelings about the wave?
Basically the same thoughts as you- Dracula and Hellstrom look great. I am not that familiar with Lilith, but it’s cool to get a new character. Brother Voodoo- I like the character, but I was fine with the last two versions. That said, this looks like a great upgrade. Not familiar with Hellverine, although it is admittedly a cool look. No idea who Bloodstorm is. I was very happy to see Moonknight because I thought he was on the Vulcan base body, but then I realized that he is still on that smaller Sunfire body. But then Blackheart looks awesome. So overall, I think I’m in for the whole wave.
I didn't expect to care about an Odin figure, but this looks really good.

Destiny & Rogue is the highlight for me. We need a Crimson Commando. I think juggernaut wave Phoenix looks more accurate in terms of colors to the new one, especially based off the artwork that you showed. If we get a Hope announced before Rachel, I just might blow my top. Give us updated Kitty and Rachel in a two pack hell make it a 3 pack and give us Meggan in her orange costume.
That would be wild to get a three pack of all three. We need Rachel in her hound outfit and her Phoenix II look. She's got options!
I am stoked for Odín, Phoenix, Destiny and Rogue. Dracula and Moon Knight too. Classic Bro Voodoo would be welcomed.
Really liked the first four you mentioned. Dracula is a fine figure just not the look I wanted and that's fine.

I wonder as if the switching of Rogues "skunk" stripe wasn't deliberate but a colouring error. That kind of thing used to happen a lot, where a colourist would be under dead line pressure and not know the established colourisation...there are some famous examples like the original Hulk and furry Beast being grey but having unintentional colour changes that stuck. Also a lot of minor examples...such as this Warlord Xavier being coloured differently.
I think they deliberately did the temples grey for her role as a villain. The one stripe seemed to mark the shift when she became a hero.

Hey Jeff, First of all, the "...new Blade movie coming 2035" comment cracked me up! That movie does seem like it's in development hell.
Man, I wished they had given us the classic Brother Voodoo look! I understand that this new one is a "Dr. Voodoo", but its so close to the previous release that I'm a bit like, ...whatever. That Deluxe Phoenix is probably my favorite of the bunch; awesome figure and wonderful Phoenix flame-bird effect/stand. I also dig Odin, WCA Moon Knight, Rogue, and Blackheart. The rest I'll get just to expand my Marvel Legends roster, but I'm not too excited about them.
One last note...I think Hasbro might be underestimating how passionate some of us fans are. They probably thought that the "Strange Tales" moniker was good enough to describe a wave of Supernatural themed figures, and technically speaking, it is. However, they probably should've known that our expectations for figures from such a wave should have included more characters from that series and time period, than we're actually getting.

I think some of it is their fandom really started in the 90s so they're more focused on things from when they got into the comics, which would be later 90s and modern stuff.
Now the Pulse sale makes sense. They want to get rid of the old wave before getting this in.

Yeah, I’m not gonna complain about how I get my Moon Knight either. Lol. Because just like you, West Coast Avengers as well as Marvel Handbook, was my introduction to the character, too.

Thanks for the re-cap Jeffrey. Obviously I have the wrong idea of Marvel comics Strange Tales. Odin is a must-have for sure and it will be a wonderful product to display. I am more of a frustrated Marvel Legends collector. I would love to be a fly on the wall at Hasbro for those product meetings selecting the characters. Something tells me ML uses google a lot.
Thanks Jay! They probably just don't go far back enough in their fandom likely starting around the early-mid 90s with the X-Men cartoon and the early non-MCU films. That might explain the slow pace of more 70s and 80s characters?
@@LylesFigureFiles It would make sense that research isn't done too far in lore, evidence is in the variants ML chooses to make. Strange Tales wave doesn't have much Strange Tales to it. Voodoo I understand, but Hellverine? Lilith over Umar? Where's Nightmare? I've given up all hope on the Wizard and Trapster by now.

With the Strange Tales wave rumoured, I was convinced we'd finally get a comic book accurate Baron Mordo, Nightmare and Wizard. Boy I got that wrong. I agree with you that classic Brother Voodoo would have been so cool I didn't need this re-do right now. This modern Dracula I actually really like, certainly more then the Bela Lugosi/Vincent Price version. Lilith was a pleasant surprise and well executed. Don't get why Moon Knight is in this wave at all (but happy to have him anyway). I am stoked about Odin, Blackheart, the Rogue/Destiny 2 pack and the deluxe Phoenix. I am certain we will see a classic Son of Satan in time, if they're releasing this guy now but it wold have been nice to get a different version than the failed Haslab one. I have never heard of Hellverine; the skull is cool but all that old tech doesn't make him an attractive figure to pick up at all. Glad there's no BAF part so I can skip him TBH. Great video mate.
Thanks Adrian. There were so many other possible options with the Strange Tales moniker that the selections were bound to be letdowns. With different branding this would have been fine.
I hope we get a classic SOS soon. Maybe in a two-pack with a new Hellcat?
If they alter the plug-ins on the wings, the Knull two pack wings on the new Angel body with a new head would be an easy The Fallen to do.
Marvel Woman would only need her cape overlay and a new head on the Shriek mold. Havok would only be new gauntlets and belt and head on the new pinless version of the Sunfire mold. This could be an excuse to do a pinless Iceman buck. Brute is the only one with a need for heavy tooling. I could see a pack with them.

Brother Voodoo, Blood-Storm, Hellverine, Son of Satan and Moon Knight are the 5 cheapest repaints of the year all in one wave! 🤦🏾♂️
I like the theme of the wave. Dracula and Black Heart are the only new pieces in the wave. Even Lilith is a repainted Shriek body.
Hasbro delivered an entire wave of horror/supernatural characters that 3 years ago they said could never be put out at retail because of public relations and negative impact on brand. What changed that allows it now?🤦🏾♂️
Moon Knight is a lot more than a repaint. And Bloodstorm has some new sculpting as well. Lilith also has a good amount of new sculpting. At least enough so she's not a quick and easy repaint. Well...this wave isn't going to retail. It's just online retailers so they are still holding true to what they said.
@@LylesFigureFiles In terms of sculpt, all of the offerings are minimal. A new head sculpt and some accessories are bare minimum effort. Several of the figures are on old bodies riddled with pins. (Lilith looks to be Shriek repaint instead of the Warbird body.)
It is a low effort wave that I have to go out of my way to obtain. Dracula is the one new sculpt in the wave besides the build-a-figure. In spite of that, I still like the fact that all the figures are horror themed.
I think the success of X-Men 97 and the popularity of the Goblin Queen figure specifically, may increase the likelihood of getting a classic Goblin Queen. Though, for all I know, with their habit of doing the wrong costumes, they'll probably do the Goblin Queen as the ruler of Limbo from the Dark Web and Dark X-Men comics from 2022-2023. I'd still buy it, but the original Goblin Queen costume looks better.
Pulse is screaming for an online-only version of Goblin Queen!

Looking for SDCC reveals for Mephisto and Goblin Queen comic version and I'm still waiting for a 90s Revanche figure and Marrow figure to build up some more X-Men

I've never had luck with Walmart exclusives, or just finding anything at Walmart in general. The toy section is mostly just merchandise for toddlers where I live now, which is fair. But almost everything DC/Marvel gets locked up behind glass.
Does your store do in-store pickups? I find that helps for trickier to find figures. In fairness, they've done much better with keeping stuff on the site now.

I will buy the Phoenix and Brother Voodoo. I didn't get the previous Brother Voodoo. I may get the Lilith as well. Hoping for an updated Punisher figure this year.
Careful with that hope. We might get whoever the heck is decked out calling themselves Punisher currently in the comics instead of Frank Castle.

They have done some Asgardians, but it's like doing a Simpsons line and doing Bart, Marge and Homer and then doing distant side tier characters before Marge, Lisa and Maggie. Skurge, The Warriors Three, Balder, Kurse, Heimdall are still waiting their turn.
What are your thoughts on the new marvel 85th Anniversary Wolverine? Please make a video on that.

A version of Bloodstorm was eventually brought into the 616 and even dated the young time displaced Cyclops for second.
Yeah, that was definitely around the time I checked out of reading Marvel consistently. Scism drove me away from reading most of the titles.

@@christophercrockett2972 It was so goofy. The X-Men finally had everything together and the stories were great and they ruined the whole dynamic to do a bootleg Civil War. Then doubled down to make Cyke a villain when he got the Phoenix Force. And all the Bendis foolishness that followed. That took my comic reading ratio from 80% Marvel to 15% DC and basically flipped it. Now I'm about 80% Image, 15% DC 3% Marvel and 2% Dynamite/IDW, etc.

I think the only one of those figures I’m not gonna get is Venom, Odin will go in my Asgardians display, Damon Hellstrom, Hellverine, Bloodstorm , and Dr Voodoo with the Midnight Sons, Fist of Konshu MoonKnight with the West Coast Avengers, Phoenix, awesome, Destiny and Rogue with the Brotherhood, and I’m gonna put Dracula, Lilith, and Blackheart with Loki, Madeline Pryor, Dr. Doom, and Dormammu as a mystical version of the Cabal
Yeah, the Midnight Sons section is slowly gaining some momentum! A mystical Cabal. That sounds fun!
I have to disagree with you on the whole "so much care was put into it" (Odin). Its very detailed and well done; they still effed up by using that weak paint for gold instead of something brighter. Other than that its fantastic. EXCEPT for the HEIGHT. Odin has never been this freakishly tall before. It's bizarre that they scaled him up so much out of the correct range. Probably to justify the outrageous price they've got planned for him.

To break them down by how desirable they are to me.
Great: Odin, Phoenix, Dracula, Black Heart (my toybiz one had to have to tail repaired)
Good: Xavier, Destiny, Rogue. Hellstrom, Moon Knight

Overall happy with the releases. Voodoo is the only character in the BAF that I feel like is sunk cost, since I already have one that is good enough.
Yeah Voodoo is an odd re-release choice and I have zero interest in Wolverine. So glad he doesn't come with a BAF piece!

Also, I've said this every time Ive watched about this wave, if we can get every other character from that Engine of Vengence HasLab why can we get Robbie Reyes. Make him pinless like Helstrom and an alternate head.

Hellverine didn't belong in that "Strange Tales" wave. SMH. Not w/ characters like Adam Warlock, Baron Mordo, A classic Voodoo & Dr. STRANGE esp hanging in the lurch (An all blue, baggy pants re-pack of the good Dr. STRANGE from 2 years out would of worked). And why not have A Strange Tales Monster BaF, like the Endless or Golem.. Instead we get A Blackheart BaF....
He isn't related w/ _Strange Tales_ at all is he ??? They even mentioned him first appearing in DD.
Mirrored thoughts on all this. I love the Rogue and Destiny... But we need an alternate head. Why no classic Brother Voodoo? And yes, calling it Strange Tales was misleading. Only Strange in the loosest sense of being magic/demon orientated. But it could have been a lot better. Only pick up from that wave for me is probably Lillith. I LOVE the Phoenix. Total shoe in for a classic X-Men display.
Maybe this will be a recurring theme like Bring on the Villains and next year we'll have more classic Strange Tales figures?
@@LylesFigureFiles Yeah, and they can make a new batch otherwise unrelated characters and tease more! To be fair, the actual designs on these new ones are pretty cool, but I'm limiting my collecting to classic characters, so it's no bad thing if they only produce a handful every year; my wallet couldn't cope. I wonder if there's some long term strategy on their part to space out the legacy wants in the line so they don't "run out" of that section of the 616. Or even Marvels licencing dept requesting they have a certain amount of newer designs to tie in with current comics more.

Ok, I did some slightly non-scientific measuring. The Wynter figure is a repaint of the Thor Herald figure. That comes up to Destroyer's chest while Wynter came up to Odin's shoulders so Destroyer should still be taller. Though not as wide.

I really don’t have anything negative to say about the figures themselves. It’s the decision making. Odin should do fine. Rogue/Destiny should do fine. Phoenix could go either way. She’s a popular character, but is there enough demand for a remake of the green costume version to warrant a deluxe format? The rest of these reveals are going to sell about as well as CNN t-shirts at a Trump rally.

Odin depending on price ,if its more than the baf i will get that one instead . Dracula is a must for my vampire shelf ,maybe bloodstorm too she would go good with blade . Wolverine looks cool even tho i would paint him black and make him into a robbie reyes custom . I already got retro phoenix but i like the bird dio so thats a maybe depending on price because i can buy the marvel select phoenix bird too . Not interested in any of the others at all ,but if i picked up blackheart i would take off the tail and put a gun on his shoulder to make a shadow predator of him ,i really dont collect demon type characters .

Odin looks amazing shame im not colllecting Thor related characters if I was the figure would be a priority. I am frustrated that I just got outback Rogue and they came out with this two pack that comes with the version of Rogue I really wanted and a good looking Destiny, worse if I also need Pyro which comes with another version of Rogue. I dont need that many Rogues but in order to complete my Brotherhood do I break my rule against too many variants? Also on the fence with Phoenix. Lastly with Strange Tales I shouldnt be starting another collection but pre ordered Ghost rider and Strange Tales sorta appeals to the 90's Goth kid in me. Moon Knight would be good for my West Coast Avengers.
Outback Rogue and this new one are from very different eras of the X-Men so you're really not doubling up on that front. At least with the X-Men, you can pair them with different versions of the team so your variants aren't a complete waste.

You know what’s crazy a week or two ago was doing research on Brother Voodoo looking for pictures for my data base and this picture came up of that very same picture and I thought it was a custom and they really dropped the ball they could have put in astral form of his brother

So disappointed. Wanted a Gene Colan Dracula. Classic Damion Hellstrom. Classic Brother Voodoo (One of mt first comics was Marvel Two In One 41, I've loved that character since then.) Maybe a 1970s Adam Warlock and a Golem BAF. Nope, Nope, Nope for me. But TBH, they've produced so many figures I didn't think they would that I wanted (Safari Suit Wonder Man anyone) I'm giving them a pass

I gotta say Odin is really nice looking I thought they could have made is Sword look more like it dose in the comic, Phoenix is also great, Venom is a pass and it’s a Target exclusive easy pass, Strange Tales was misleading and a disappointment all in one breath, even though most of the figures are wanted just not here, only one I don’t need is the Moonknight and I already have Blackheart I just wish they had done a Baron Mordo, and Deathbird is on that cover too, Destiny and evil Rouge are a get I hope she comes with a hood and a ungloved hand, now we need Classic Mastermind ,Unus , Green suit Quicksilver , let’s get Stonewall,Crimson Commander and Saber yeah I’m greedy I’m supporting this line and company I wants what I want.😅

Hopefully Hasbro ends the BAF waves program. Make a wave of five figures and a deluxe figure offering and no one will feel forced to buy a wave that they don’t want. The five figure wave will have to be figures that can stand on their own without the BAF piece to make it a must buy just to complete the BAF. Dracula is the only figure in this wave that I’m getting or for me is a must have. It’s the same for marvel legend haslabs they should be every other year or end marvel legends HasLabs for a few years. Marvel legends fans don’t support haslab projects anyway, so why invest in them?

I think the blaster is going to come with a new Secret Wars two pack with Kang. Maybe even with the (as yet not ever made) version of Deadpool from "Deadpool's Secret Wars". We are due for a new Wade comic figure, maybe with his "handsome mustached" head and "secret message shield". Ok, its a stretch, but I hope. Also Marvel may have made the best Lex Luthor head sculpt ever made with the Prof X/ Warlord figure.

Boy, "Strange Tales" was extremely misleading. That said, No Classic Dracula? No Classic Brother Voodoo? No Classic Son of Satan? This wave is an instant pass for me. Thank God the BAF was not Mephisto! The only one I would consider getting is Fist of Khonshu: Moon Knight. And that's just because I'm a huge Moon Knight fan! Definitely the Rogue/Destiny 2-Pack is on my want list. Where the hell is Jack of Hearts?!?
Calling it a Strange Tales was false advertising. I had a long talk with Hasbro on the phone after the reveal. If Mephisto had been the BAF for that wave, I'd be in jail for hurting someone. This is so disappointing and misleading. Aside from Odin, this was a complete bust. Why call it a Strange Tales wave? It's like announcing an Avengers wave and not getting any Avengers in it! Hasbro has some shining moments, but that doesn't outweigh the suckage. And they dropped the ball with Whiplash - his hand is too small and the fingers angled to where the whip just falls out of his hand I had to customize my own whip. No intelligent people in R&D or QC if they even have a QC department. Today was a disappointment on an epic level.
Literally if they labeled it anything else, I don't think folks would have an issue with it. Just odd to put them under that banner and then go so far off the path for Strange Tales.

I called Hasbro today and gave them a piece of my mind. It's false advertising to call this a Strange Tales wave. Just boggled my mind. But with the endless remakes of Iron Man, Spiderman, and Wolverine, they should just rename the line Marvel Remakes instead of Marvel Legends.
Hopefully they release some better stuff later in the year. They started out strong, now they're totally dropping the ball again, in my eyes. I just don't understand their absolute aversion to releasing characters needed to complete teams. Mantis and Swordsman will pretty much complete most Avengers collections or line-ups, and 4 or 5 Inhumans would complete that team too. I'd like to complete these teams before I die of old age! LOL!

They may be hesitant to do a classic Tomb of Dracula, well, Dracula, due to the fact that NECA and Jada Toys have been doing the Universal Studios style Dracula, dude in a suit Drac. So, the armored Vlad the Impaler style Dracula makes sense to sort of stand out from the rest.
Bloodstorm has crossed over into the 616, she was a member of the secondary team in X-Men Blue during the period when the O5 teen X-Men were in the present. Also, Havok was in a serious relationship with Maddie again last time I checked.

Dracula is a huge letdown regardless if the armored look is alright as well.
That makes no sense; Tomb of Dracula was one of the longest running "horror" comics Marvel put out. They made their mark long before these guys.

-Dwight wanted modern Dracula, so that’s who we got.
-I think Lilith and Blackheart were initially created for an EOV wave, we’re cancelled, and here they are.
-Bloodstorm was probably made for another wave and moved here.
-Hellvarine looks quickly kit bashed.
-Maybe 3rd times the charm for modern Dr. Voodoo?
-Hasbro didn’t listen to us that asked for a removable cape to go with the original Hellstrom EOV offering.

Disappointing reveals. Odin is only a maybe as the MCU Version Anthony Hopkins Version is actually pretty good and I can get them cheap. Of course, this is a possible still. Venom is a pass. Phoenix is a definite. Destiny and Rogue only for the Destiny. Don't need the Warlord Xavier. The Wave, only the Hellstorm and maybe Brother Voodoo. Don't need any more Wolverine, Storm, or Moon Knight. Wrong Lilith. Instead of Dracula's Daughter we get the Fugly Demoness. And that's NOT the Dracula I remember! I remember the Tomb of Dracula and the younger bearded, also dark haired Dracula. I never liked the White Haired interpretations. So, another pass.
Lilith in this incarnation has been around for a minute so I'm not upset with that choice. Wolverine was an ...interesting choice for me.

This makes it difficult for me to decide should I stick with my MAFEX pre order Phoenix who doesn’t even come with the Phoenix or cancel for this one. Another rough part is I don’t need majority of the wave, however the build a figure Blackheart is essential for the collection.
