Tocha is the powerhouseof the group but Kandi is the brand of the group her voice makes the group sound distinct from other girl groups, Tamika is the darkhorse, Tiny is the neutralizer.
I always thought Tamika had a better voice between the sisters. It always sounded cleaner and controlled were Latosha always did way too much for no reason. Guess it makes sense now
There was always tention in this Group. If you would Kandi and L. Scott they never get near each other on stage. L. was always checking Kandi's reaction to her vocals. Kandi did the most growing during their time together. She was the arrogant cocky one in the beginning. She mature and accepted the other girls talents. The pressure got to be to much for her when Tamika Scott turned on her too. The Scotts never forgave Kandin for her immaturity when they first started out.
Rewatching this and ooh wee peep the side eye Tocha does @1:19. it's definitely clear they argued before they came out on stage and Tocha was just trying to prove a point (probably a dig at Kandi most likely) she was over the top with it from start to finish, she practically sung over her own damn sister during her part with that flat ass run. If there ever is biopic I need the behind the scenes on what went down here. the division was clear as day.

And also, Her sister Tameka has the best voice of this group. Solid belts, placement and much better pitch than Tosha. People need to stop thinking because someone sings 50 notes in a phrase that they are the better singer. Especially when 47 of those 50 are flat or sharp.

I have to agree, Tamika's voice has such strength and clarity and her bravado is similar but not as "fluid" so to speak.
Rocha has such a beautiful tone. But yes, the unnecessary runs spoil the performance. Such a beautiful voice though.
