I just came to say that magical creature is Jinkx Monsoon. Drag Superstar, actor, singer, comedian. If you ever get a chance to watch their live shows, DO! Jinkx is amazing!
@@Darkly_i_Shine I've seen the updated version of this show Off Broadway, both of them were so, so good. Jinkx and Ben DeLaCreme go on tour every Christmas for their holiday show. It's like, insane cabaret. Sorry to gush, I'm just a big fan and it's so cool to see Jinkx being received so positively on the show. czcams.com/video/XlFuaenyRC8/video.htmlsi=77nscbfBXdHDPctC
The scene where The Doctor takes Ruby to alternate 2024 if the Maestro wasn't stopped is a callback to a previous 4th Doctor story "Pyramids of Mars" where the Doctor takes Sarah Jane to alternate 1980 if the villain Sutekh the Destroyer wasn't defeated very similar scene.
hehe the episode numbering is wibbly-wobbly. What I am enjoying with this current series is the fun they are having with it. I love your editing and reactions!!!
Thank you. I'm also enjoying the doctor who goes fantastical thing they have going on. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but for me, doctor who should be first and foremost just fun and it has been.
Best. Edit. Yet! 🤩🥳 The humor, the references and the commentary are on point. I'm afraid to discuss the Pantheon because you are very River Song. (I try to be and don't read articles, but I'm one of those Lurker Nerds who reads all comments on vids, so I spoil myself anyway.) SUPER excited for The Boom next week!🫣🤸💃🏼
Thank you. I look forward to your comments and see what u think. Although the shame of not recognizing 1963 for what it is, I may never live down. Thank you for the restraint on anything u think might be spoilers, River Song would approve of you.
THANKS for this!!!! (And Millie doesn't question The Doctor about gods because she's been with him for months at this point.) And great edit-clips!!!! LOL!!!!
Do we know, Has she actually been in the TARDIS for months and we missed it or is this gonna be a clara situation where he comes and picks her up for an adventure?
@@Darkly_i_Shine We know that for two reasons: 1) When he says he's gonna bring her back home, he or she says June or July; 2) She says, "You never run!" How would she know that if she's only been with him for a couple days or so? That means they've all sorts of adventures between the episodes! Cue Big Finish and Titan Comics :)
Cool that fits better for me. There's a moment when she says to the doctor "you always know what to do" and I was like you've only had 2 adventures together you're assuming a lot
@@Darkly_i_Shineyeah a lot of people also think that this episode was originally supposed to be later on in the season but got moved up to episode 2, which would explain how comfortable they are with each other already
@@cassianand0r And it's more confusing with episode 3 being the first time being on another planet. What have they been doing for months? A space station to space station tour? Or was that episode supposed to be before this one?
Wikipedia: Granted not in 1963 but if your familiar with Jimi Hendrix, he was around in London during the sixties. Hendrix was of African American and alleged Cherokee descent. Handel Hendrix House (previously Handel & Hendrix in London) is a museum in Mayfair, London, dedicated to the lives and works of the German-born British baroque composer George Frideric Handel and the American rock singer-guitarist Jimi Hendrix, who lived at 25 and 23 Brook Street respectively. Born in Seattle, Washington, Hendrix began playing guitar at age 15. He moved to England in late 1966 after bassist Chas Chandler of the Animals became his manager. Within months, Hendrix had earned three UK top ten hits with his band the Jimi Hendrix Experience: "Hey Joe", "Purple Haze", and "The Wind Cries Mary". The world's highest-paid rock musician,[2] he headlined the Woodstock Festival in 1969 and the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970 before his accidental death in London from barbiturate-related asphyxia in September 1970.
Thank you for this. It's so nice to watch a reaction to the actual episode rather than seeing yet another video about 1 line in the opening sequence and press interviews for the show. Plus with the added bonus of your humor & use of references, and admitting "I don't know who or what this is" and then putting in the clips after you did your research and found out. love the transaction to the opening, and dotn worry, my first thought was he was referring to the 3rd Doctor, til he mentioned Susan. I didnt expect the ending, but i loved it....long as it isnt in every episode...think cause the theme of the villian and episode was musiuc, to show how lively and happy music can make people in contrast how bleak people were when it was gone.
since you asked "non diagetic" music is when the soundtrack of a movie/show/game isnt in universe. its not being played or listened to in universe "diagetic music" is when the music is coming from a source in the media. like someone listening to music on headphones or a radio playing in the background of the scene
Love the context editing and your style of reacting, bravo, Maestro (which comes from Italian) is reserved for people with an enormous amount of skill and talent. Where did the word "maestro" come from? Borrowed from Italian maestro, from Latin magister (“master”).
I'm glad for this Doctor being black because now I'm exposed to other black fans and perspectives, I am always thinking if they're going to factor of his skin color with the time they travel too. Martha suffered for no reason, and 12 had enough sense to defend Bill with a good punch. When you pointed out no questions were asked when a black man in a sharp suit just walks into a room with no extra looks in 1963, I had the same thought in the back of my mind when I watched the episode!
I wouldn't want his race to be a "thing" in every episode. But a reference to acknowledge "this is a fantasy show and we don't want to focus on it but yes we know a black man would have gotten some push back " not a big deal if they don't but just saying
Yes both their clothes were fine for the sixties before they changed. 64 till 69. Not 63! Miniskirts weren’t in yet. Lots of minor anachronisms in this one. It was kinda fun anyway. Not great but fun.
@@Darkly_i_Shine I think just a little odd. Skirts were knee length. She was at a music studio though so they probably saw a lot of odd outfits. A year later and that look started to come in
I wish. :) Would be fun, but didn't her scan say Human DNA? Also, Maestro said she was the only human left with music in her heart... so unless she has a chameleon arch (and IF that can fool scans) she is human.
Which could be possible if susan had one and she knew the time war was coming. making her daughter human would save her since she wouldn't have time Lord DNA.
I had a 1am thought. What if she IS Susan? Regenerated and chameleon arc human to survive the genocide? Don't know how but it's a 1am thought so I don't have to know how.
