- Beekeeping is in. The number of young beekeepers is skyrocketing. It’s a seachange: For years, beekeeping was seen as a retirement hobby. One that was slowly dying out.
The new beekeepers are doing a lot of things differently from their predecessors. Take influencer Quentin, who reaches more than a million followers with his TikTok channel "Beesteez." Featuring videos from his beehive, "Beesteez” shows just how much passion he puts into caring for his bees. Then there’s beekeeper Stephanie Eden. She set out to use her hive to promote the conservation of nature and to help insects. But in the process of setting up her hive, she also learned a lot of surprising things about herself.

It is good to see young people working to create change.
Young man named - if I am not mistaken - Quenton, is an exemplary model to be followed by the young people. I congratulate Him and wish determination and strength in doing what He is doing. Greetings from Poland!!! Stay on the course!!!
Thank you DW for this great report and for helping to raise awareness. BIG HUG FOR ALL THOSE BEE KEEPERS-My son being one of them. 💕🥰😘🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟😘🥰💕
I've been wanting to start some log hives for wild bees here at my home. Not Honey Bees, Solitary Bees which are equally important in the environment. This has pushed me over the top, I think it's time to get into this. :) Thank you, great video.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
what you call solitary bees are actually; Mason Bees. You can get or build bee houses for them, and you can recieve them vis the internet. They are better pollinators than honeybees and they don't sting. the company will buy back the unborn baby bees[larvae[ from you. I'm sure they will also sell to you the little bee houses.
Bees are wonderful, your hives will recognize you and tolerate your inspections and harvest.
I do believe bees are highly intelligent being
The surge in young beekeepers is heartwarming and inspiring. Their passion for beekeeping and commitment to nature's conservation is truly remarkable. This documentary captures the essence of their dedication. Thank you for sharing this uplifting story of the new generation of beekeepers.
I believe these documentaries are German...? Either way I'm Canadian and DW I have to say makes the best documentaries out there.
Yeah, we in Canada get crap. DW is awesome.

I wish this doc explained the location and who the sources are with lower thirds or chyrons.
This is literally, and I genuinely mean literally, the only positive thing I've heard of that app. I'm sure there are more, but sadly, the good ones don't always (if ever like that one) get attention. This young man is a treasure. He sets an example for others.
Think for yourself.

TikTok beekeepers make bee rescue a trend | DW Documentary 2155pm 1.10.23 bees are cool. i enjoy them... always let them out your home if you see one insanely beating it's head against the window pane... same with wasps. allegedly he suggested wasps served no purpose. not so, say i...
To begin with, I deal with bees myself. There is a small problem with the breeding of bees by breeding commercial species...They are generalists and displace real natural specialists, wild bees.Which actually die out.
❤❤❤

Is it True that bees from honey production are actually harmful for the actually important solitary bees?
As a beekeeper I have noticed that the native pollinators are attracted to and feed on a larger variety of food sources then the honey bees. They also appear to feed on those sources earlier in the season, but yes there is over lap.
@@dcsblessedbees I thought that it was the opposite: solitary bees being highly flower-specialized while honey bees go for all
@@fgui11 Most of the narive pollinators have longer proboscis(tung) so that they are able to feed of of more locations.
Now this is from videos I have watched only been a beekeeper for 2 years.
Well done Sweden. This is real secularism not appeasement in the name of secularism ~ 🇸🇪

In North America the honeybees in this video are an invasive species.

As a Muslim,We have in the Quran, surah called Nahl, means bee where God said:”……………And your Lord inspired the bees: “Make ˹your˺ homes in the mountains, the trees, and in what people construct,
-and feed from ˹the flower of˺ any fruit ˹you please˺ and follow the ways your Lord has made easy for you.” From their bellies comes forth liquid of varying colours, in which there is healing for people. Surely in this is a sign for those who reflect…………..”
Avoid GMO foods like corn and soy as pollen from these palnts kill bees. Pesticides sprayed in wrong moments can have devastating effects on bees population
Ummm ppl have been caring about bees way before tic tok discovered them 🐝
The WEF would have us eat them.
last year i just burned the nest of giant Asian hornets, to save the bees from them.
I don't know about you guys, but that Quentin really showing his passion to the bees than that lady Stephanie.
I mean, she only what ? Read books ? Teaching her kids about beekeeping?
