Rewatching this video, I just noticed the defensive jumping attacks. I love that addition. No more being a sitting duck during chain combos. This is a really clever solution.
Oh, Jimmy has the headbutt, sweet! I was worried that it wasnt coming back in any form other than his DD1+3 Neckbreaker Punch ender. The only other move i'd love to see is the DD Advance ground stomp, but it isnt really needed with this much to work with. Legend of Double Dragon is amazing, but this looks set to blow it out the water. Nothing but respect and admiration for this project, and super excited for whenever it gets a release.

Wow!! Super professional! I love it when you upload something in 1080p! Heck, its even in 60fps!! I like how you bolden the text for the commands and break to gameplay to show off wake up attacks. I think I'm gonna agree with everyone else in the comments and say the the music is the highlight of this vid. You and your brother, Patricio have done absolutely phenomenal work on restoring and re-recording the original music from SDD, DD2 and DD3. I know some of these songs are really old though. I mean that in the since I've heard them before in some of the very first demos you released back in 2014. Like the first 2 tracks for the DD1+3 styles. I know there are newer versions in the training stages in LOTDD and in Challenge mode on the BBE version. But I actually really like the versions in the vid. Its sounds very “full” for lack of a better description. I really like the China and Japan tracks. They have so much charm to them naturally, and now redone by Pat, have become masterpieces! You've really done a great job with the DD2 soundtracks too. DD2 had some of the weakest songs of the series IMO, but Pat has made them really enjoyable now. Its amazing how much a remix and remastering can change a not so good song into an awesome one. Now the absolute BEST tracks are from SDD. The remake for the Duke's hideout is so, SO awesome. Pat really gave this song a sincere atmosphere. (ha I made a rhyme!) I wish it hadn't cut off so quickly though... :( I can't wait to here the full track! My favorite one is the remake of Duke's Hideout part 2. We may know this is the “Airport track” but you and I know were it really was supposed to be :) I really REALLY hope I get to hear them playing some DD2 and 3 stages in 16-bit art styled Ultimate Double Dragon!!! I know me ranting about the music of this vid was probably not your intentions of the video but everybody likes new stuff, including music. I never saw Jimmy's DD2 Invinca-kick until now, so thanks for the full movelist video. See ya next time!
Believe me that the themes you are hearing here, are not the final versions of them, these are just bootlegs because I KNOW people will try to rip em and maybe use them in their projects. The ones in the game sound way better.

You've raised the bar so high, that whenever I evaluate any new or old beat em ups, I immediately compare them to your game. I just watched some gameplay for the new Streets of Rage and I was disappointed, mainly because the movesets are almost identical to the older games. I mean, there hasn't been a new SOR game in 25 years and the moves haven't been expanded on at all? Then I look at all you've done to Double Dragon and I'm in awe of all the ways you have improved and built upon the existing framework, without compromising the essence of the original games.
@@Lindros1988 That is actually what I am aiming with this game, you can choose to play it as a regular double dragon game, or just go nuts with everything at your disposal. Its a shame about SoR as well, although Im more a FFight guy, I know they are dropping the ball by not adding anything new besides tracks & graphs, feels LAZY, but I appreciate the fact the genre is trying to come back, it might benefit the Ooenbor scene in general. The music at 1:17 & 2:35 took me back, haven't heard those originals that clearly in decades...though I still haven't played yet I enjoy watching what y'all have done and continued to do. :)
Now that's what I'm talking about! ACTUAL MARTIAL ART MOVES!!! See this is what I like about games like "Super Double Dragon" & "Double Dragon Advance"... You have an extensive arsenal of moves that you can utilized as a skill-set and Billy & Jimmy Lee are portrayed as definitive martial artists just as they should be. Now all they need is to amped up the aggression not to mention A.I. on the enemies so the game won't be so easy to beat with all the variety of moves at the player's disposal. Speaking of which, the game going to need more enemies from past DD games specifically "Double Dragon Advance".
Now that's the double dragon we all need! Good stuff in here! I can't imagine you guys making nekketsu fighting legend as wild as this! Double dragon and that was my all time favorite fighting game.

Double Dragon is my fav game series of all time. I remember when you started this back in like 2009 or something. 10 years later we get this masterpiece. I am definitely going to donate. I also want to see if this works with steam remote play.
@@mauherrera8939 I unpacked the game last night 😁 Trying to find the players health. The game is brutal. I feel the enemies health should be halved and the players health tripled. I also need to figure out how not to get interupted so much. Many of the combos I can never finish 😔

Fui a casa de un amigo hace unos días, me mostró los dos, LODD y UDD, quede enamorado del proyecto. So far me encanta! Ojalá puedas en un futuro agregar nuevos enemigos (cómo el clan de Yagyu Ranzou). Viendo a futuro UDD porque es realmente prometedor!

Will all the music from the Return of Double Dragon tape be restored to the game? I've seen some vids here, and the idea of making each boss theme unique by remixing them with the level theme was genius. My favourite tune in the game was the unused official Airport theme (the second song in this video), and I must say the 16 bit version is great. It matches up with the originals seamlessly.
@@mauherrera8939 That is fantastic news. Does this include the alternate version of Dukes Hideout 2? The one that was replaced with the one used for the Airport for the original release? That ones kinda epic. Anywhere it could be implemented? The hallway with flames, for example? Also, will a soundtrack for the entire 16 bit track be set up? These ones (the first 2 tracks here) don't seem to be programmed to loop yet.
The other day i was watching one of your videos and thinking about the fact that Super Double Dragon always had nifty and aggressive enemies, but the variety department Super Double Dragon always lacked enemy variety, you always had either Williams, Roper, with Baker (the guy with the dual machetes) thrown in sometimes, and the often looped until the bosses switched to regular enemies. An idea would be to perhaps add some enemies, and looking at one games with somewhat similar sprites would be "The combattribes" made by texhnos Japan and by the same pixel artist that made SDD. It has an issue though, the characters have a bit of a deformed look where the head is a bit bigger than the body, but this could be fixed, cropped to fit. I'm saying this because some enemies from that game really would fit, like the first boss named "Fats" who has a sprite that looks a bit like the Clown boss without makeup, i think some enemies could be transitioned to SDD and maintain a similar art style harmony.

Hi i have a few questions 1.What is the difference between cinematic edition and best bros edition of LOTDD? 2.As of now there is no way to do the crossup cancels on LOTDD right? (well, only for the specific combos who have it)
1.- Only the OST. Since the cinematic edition uses copyrighted music, monetized streamers had to mute the game in order to play it in their broadcasts, so I made Best Bros with SNES music on it. 2.- yeah, not possible in LOTDD for now. Wait for Sept 21th to get a public demo of UDD in my site!

UDD is a significant upgrade for LOTDD; different plot, lots of new moves and characters, new stages, hundreds of new music, new game modes :) Check the more recent videos in my channel and you will see!
9:43 Mierda que recuerdos... ame "daburu dragón 3" xddd, oye harás algo con los enemigos?, hasta ahora el trabajo con los protagonistas es impecable, pero veo que los enemigos siguen iguales al juego original, les cambiaras la respuesta de AI no?, y los harás atacar mas o ser mas rápidos no?, porque seria muy extraño que le agregaras tantos movimientos a los protas y los enemigos siguieran igual, muy fácil.
Los enemigos iran progresivamente subiendo su dificultad en Ultimate Double Dragon asi como también verás nuevos (ya está el tipo de la pistola, el Gunguy), y ya en el Legend of the Double Dragon te invito a pelear vs los jefes y también vs Jeff, o los que encuentras en la ruta verdadera al ir por el final verdadero.
@@mauherrera8939 No se cual es legend of the double dragon, pero no me gusta el formato del 1-2, los jugué todos pero prefiero el formato del 3, y el de snes, los sprites cambiaron y les redujeron el tamaño de las cabezas y eso etc lol.

Faltan movimientos de combos aéreos; remate en el piso; le falta patada giratoria a la técnica 1-3; las patadas giratorias no generan combo; entrar en combo solo mareando se vuelve aburrido. Debe de haber más skilles combo (mareo) para que el jugador cree sus propios combos. (en el piso, parado, aire, atrás y adelante) agarrar en el aire falla mucho pues el personaje frena, debería de avanzar. Muchas gracias, genial trabajo.
@@mauherrera8939 también fuera bueno incluir el lanzamiento aereo de ninja gaiden arcade (shadow warrior 1988) agregado en double d 3, saltar y bloquear como estandar. (jeff tiene un movimiento parecido. Deberías probar suprimir el gasto de energía para los skill y dejarlo para los combos, (esto ralentiza un poco la acción y complica a los más novatos. Además deberías crear un openbor a la venta que sea diseño ARCADE, con intro, crédito infinito y tiempo entre misiones, en algunos lugares aún existen los salones. Te pagarían bien pues la dificultad del juego es soberbio. Muy buen trabajo con la I.A.
@@mauherrera8939 tambien al saltar y apretar k, no se sigue el combo, los enemigos vuelan y caen invulnerables. Se podría empezar lindos combos con esta patada deslizante.
I got so angry playing this game.Because it looks so promising But the whole move list and combo mechanix are way toooo much way too hard And in general the whole game is way too HARD.I bet you could get more people to play this torture if the difficulty would be easier. I really wanted to love this game but i can't because. tooooooo HARD!!! At least put an easy mode in the game. 🤮🤢🤮😭😭😭

I've seen some vids here, and the idea of making each boss theme unique by remixing them with the level theme was genius.
My favourite tune in the game was the unused official Airport theme (the second song in this video), and I must say the 16 bit version is great. It matches up with the originals seamlessly.

Does this include the alternate version of Dukes Hideout 2? The one that was replaced with the one used for the Airport for the original release? That ones kinda epic. Anywhere it could be implemented? The hallway with flames, for example?
Also, will a soundtrack for the entire 16 bit track be set up? These ones (the first 2 tracks here) don't seem to be programmed to loop yet.
The other day i was watching one of your videos and thinking about the fact that Super Double Dragon always had nifty and aggressive enemies, but the variety department Super Double Dragon always lacked enemy variety, you always had either Williams, Roper, with Baker (the guy with the dual machetes) thrown in sometimes, and the often looped until the bosses switched to regular enemies.
An idea would be to perhaps add some enemies, and looking at one games with somewhat similar sprites would be "The combattribes" made by texhnos Japan and by the same pixel artist that made SDD. It has an issue though, the characters have a bit of a deformed look where the head is a bit bigger than the body, but this could be fixed, cropped to fit. I'm saying this because some enemies from that game really would fit, like the first boss named "Fats" who has a sprite that looks a bit like the Clown boss without makeup, i think some enemies could be transitioned to SDD and maintain a similar art style harmony.

Hi i have a few questions
1.What is the difference between cinematic edition and best bros edition of LOTDD?
2.As of now there is no way to do the crossup cancels on LOTDD right? (well, only for the specific combos who have it)
1.- Only the OST. Since the cinematic edition uses copyrighted music, monetized streamers had to mute the game in order to play it in their broadcasts, so I made Best Bros with SNES music on it.
2.- yeah, not possible in LOTDD for now. Wait for Sept 21th to get a public demo of UDD in my site!

You know, it is kind of annoying asking for that for a "couple of dollars" when people have payied more than 100USD to the huge amount of work in the project, and it's not even finished yet. 9:43 Mierda que recuerdos... ame "daburu dragón 3" xddd, oye harás algo con los enemigos?, hasta ahora el trabajo con los protagonistas es impecable, pero veo que los enemigos siguen iguales al juego original, les cambiaras la respuesta de AI no?, y los harás atacar mas o ser mas rápidos no?, porque seria muy extraño que le agregaras tantos movimientos a los protas y los enemigos siguieran igual, muy fácil.
Los enemigos iran progresivamente subiendo su dificultad en Ultimate Double Dragon asi como también verás nuevos (ya está el tipo de la pistola, el Gunguy), y ya en el Legend of the Double Dragon te invito a pelear vs los jefes y también vs Jeff, o los que encuentras en la ruta verdadera al ir por el final verdadero.
@@mauherrera8939 No se cual es legend of the double dragon, pero no me gusta el formato del 1-2, los jugué todos pero prefiero el formato del 3, y el de snes, los sprites cambiaron y les redujeron el tamaño de las cabezas y eso etc lol.

Faltan movimientos de combos aéreos; remate en el piso; le falta patada giratoria a la técnica 1-3; las patadas giratorias no generan combo; entrar en combo solo mareando se vuelve aburrido. Debe de haber más skilles combo (mareo) para que el jugador cree sus propios combos. (en el piso, parado, aire, atrás y adelante) agarrar en el aire falla mucho pues el personaje frena, debería de avanzar. Muchas gracias, genial trabajo.

@@mauherrera8939 también fuera bueno incluir el lanzamiento aereo de ninja gaiden arcade (shadow warrior 1988) agregado en double d 3, saltar y bloquear como estandar. (jeff tiene un movimiento parecido. Deberías probar suprimir el gasto de energía para los skill y dejarlo para los combos, (esto ralentiza un poco la acción y complica a los más novatos.
Además deberías crear un openbor a la venta que sea diseño ARCADE, con intro, crédito infinito y tiempo entre misiones, en algunos lugares aún existen los salones. Te pagarían bien pues la dificultad del juego es soberbio. Muy buen trabajo con la I.A.
@@mauherrera8939 tambien al saltar y apretar k, no se sigue el combo, los enemigos vuelan y caen invulnerables. Se podría empezar lindos combos con esta patada deslizante.
