You have to take a few steps back to move forward. Leicester won the league with Ranieri out of nowhere, the best moment in the history of their club and when they stopped performing they sacked him off not even thinking about the sentiment and now look at them. They’re a mainstay in the top half of the league. Arsenal removed Wenger and yeah sure we’ve been weak in the league under emery. But look at the progress being made under Arteta, won a trophy in this first season as manager. Arsenal under Wenger was becoming stale and boring, same seasons over and over and it was time for a change.

exactly. This is where I think Claude has failed the most. It showed that taken out of his envt of AFTV he's weak. They could have pressed Neville on Wenger's serious failings on his emirates stadium project because were are no where near competing with the likes of the elites

That is a very wrong opinion of Gary to have then. Atletico, Juventus, Dortmund and Sevilla have shown success can be obtained without spending ridiculous amounts of money. In fact, since Fergie left, United have spent more money than anyone else in the Premier League and have continuosly finished below Arsenal since then.
It is not about spending ridiculous amounts of money (which did this season btw) but rather how you spend it. Premier League clubs need to learn from what others are doing abroad. La Liga and Bundesliga are the barometer.
