Chief has fought many enemies like that such as brutes or promethians, so Chief could turn DoomSlayer’s own strength against him. Also armor comparison DoomSlayer might be at a disadvantage. Despite the DoomSlayers armor being incredibly tough, it has shown that it can take damage as we see in DOOM Eternal. While Chief on the other hand had his armor through hell and back, from getting hit by space debree at high speed to surviving falling from atmosphere and taking no viewable damage whatsoever. But I can’t decide the winning factor. I’m hoping that they do a remaster and a damn good one too. Sorry for this being so long, I get carried away when it comes to topics like this

Even if they remade it. I noticed that sometimes bias or protagonist vs antagonist plot armor kicks in. I believe that while Guts is incredibly strong, he would not have lasted long against Nightmare. (It took the two most powerful characters in the game to be able to face him). And when it comes to Night Terror, he’s definitely screwed. My explanation: Nightmare wields a 6’2 greatsword (marginally smaller than Guts’s and literally swings it as though it was as light as a feather. The souls in control of Nightmare formed into a single mind that is well over 4,000 years old and knows virtually every fighting style known to man. The sword can literally cut through time and space (one of the in-canon guest characters, Heihachi Mishima, was sent back in time because of a shard of Soul Edge cutting his finger) by opening portals to the Astral Plane, which is only accessible by one other weapon: Soul Calibur. Not to mention that when Nightmare enters his “Nightmare Charge” he can become faster and stronger than he normally is. Finally, he literally fought off an entire army single-handed (possibly literally) and harvested all their souls, therefore their experience in combat further improves Nightmare’s skills. The only reason I could think of why Guts won was because he is a main protagonist, Nightmare is a main antagonist, and Guts’s sword can apparently cut through dimensions to cut down any demon. Still doesn’t explain how Guts’s sword was able to destroy Soul Edge knowing that apparently the only weapon capable of doing that was Soul Calibur (that’s literally Soul Calibur’s entire reason for existing) Long rant. But I just believe Death Battle isn’t the most reliable for things like this.

He threw the grenade during the explosion created by the impact of the BFG. Even if he could throw it through the shield or managed to time it that perfectly, the grenade would have been destroyed. Even if he managed to time it perfectly, the BFG still would have blown it up before it reached Doomguy.

Is that what it looks like to you? First of all, have you never pressed the shift button in all the time you played doom? No shift = walk, hold shift = run. Second of all, there's a bug in the program called wallrunning that lets you actually outrun the goddamned rockets if you're running against the edge of a wall. Finally, if you figure out how many map units he travels per second, it's a lot more than you think. It's just because he moves so smoothly that you think it's slow, it's like looking out the window of a car, but that doesn't mean the car isn't demolishing any speed you could actually run at.
The codex entries and cutscenes in DOOM Eternal bridge the rebooted series (DOOM 2016 and DOOM Eternal) to the original series and confirm that, yes, the Doomguy, aka Doom Marine, is definitely the same person as the Doom Slayer.
A remaster of this fight would be amazing seeing that the Doom and Halo franchise have both evolved immensely in the past several years. A rematch is way overdue.

The thing is, the Doomslayer has way more things than Doom guy did. Sure its the same guy but when he was named "Doomslayer" he has much better gear, is supernaturally enhanced in many ways, and has eons of experience. Its gotten to the point where he is almost entirely invincible and has nearly unrivaled strength. Also, Doomslayer killed the Titan and there is nothing chief has done that can match that feat so yeah. (The Titan was an unmatched champion of hell with "immeasurable power" who was colossal in size and had the combined might of all the demons Doomslayer had killed in the past couple eons. Also, Doomslayer did not have any guns, or any weapons really other than his fist, or the praetor armor, when he took down the Titan.)

Is that what it looks like to you? First of all, have you never pressed the shift button in all the time you played doom? No shift = walk, hold shift = run. Second of all, there's a bug in the program called wallrunning that lets you actually outrun the goddamned rockets if you're running against the edge of a wall. Finally, if you figure out how many map units he travels per second, it's a lot more than you think. It's just because he moves so smoothly that you think it's slow, it's like looking out the window of a car, but that doesn't mean the car isn't demolishing any speed you could actually run at.

The dude is only immortal in the sense that he won't die from natural causes. It doesn't mean that he cannot be killed. Also, it's rather misleading to say that he killed "the creator of his universe," considering that the Dark Lord has been depowered and lacks most of his Primeval form’s abilities.

The thing is, the Doomslayer has way more things than Doom guy did. Sure its the same guy but when he was named "Doomslayer" he has much better gear, is supernaturally enhanced in many ways, and has eons of experience. Its gotten to the point where he is almost entirely invincible and has nearly unrivaled strength. Also, Doomslayer killed the Titan and there is nothing chief has done that can match that feat so yeah. (The Titan was an unmatched champion of hell with "immeasurable power" who was colossal in size and had the combined might of all the demons Doomslayer had killed in the past couple eons. Also, Doomslayer did not have any guns, or any weapons really other than his fist, or the praetor armor, when he took down the Titan.)
