There are only two reasons for which having an amnesia would be good:
1) getting to play the Witcher 3 once again without knowing it
2) re-experience the discovery of xLetalis’s channel with hours and hours of the Witcher amazing content
Yes! 😍 God, if only I could play Witcher 3 again for the first time..
@@yasm1376 i feel you bro. I feel you.
You'd not remember it however.
You'd experience it again and want to forget it just like the fjrst time.
Unless you want to selectively forget only about the game and even then
I want to give this a thumbs up but it's right at 333 rn and I don't wanna ruin it 🤣
7 years later and after many Witcher videos... xLetalis still manages to find interesting things in this wonderful game. Love your videos :)
Yes mate. What a legend!
And comments like these will continue to be seen for 7 more years.
I start to assume that the list of details I've missed is endless. It's amazing! How was CDPR able to put so much stuff into one single game.... does Cyberpunk have the same level of depth? Never played it.
It's especially good for people like me that are playing for the very first time. About 100 hours in and just keeling this game more and more
@@SurvivalSpheres I haven't played Cyberpunk either, but I have never seen more care poured into a game than what CDPR poured into the Witcher. Hands down the best game I've ever played, due to all these little details.
“Stricken with an apoplexy while hunting” is an euphemism for the fact that he was intimate with Mislav the Hunter while also being a plausible yet mysterious manner of death. Hunting “accidents” and a sudden “stroke” or apoplexy are two of history’s favorite cover-up stories for foul play-for example, Basil I of Byzantine Empire, William II of England died in “hunting accidents.” A “stroke” was also the official cause of death for Henry VI (who was actually put to death by Richard Duke of Gloucester on orders of Edward IV) and what seems like every third Chinese emperor
great input
interesting
Originally this video was supposed to be ~3 min long but I ended up adding a bunch of things, hope you don't mind :)
Not at all! The more xLetalis Witcher 3 content the better.
I dont mind it that just means more of your great content for me
We're mad. We never asked for so much Witcher content!!!
The longer the better! Make a twelve hour video and I’ll watch it all!
We never do.
Ironic, I just passed through there a few days ago and saw the dead couple and thought "Huh, maybe I should send this to xLetalis" xD Keep up the great work!
You're still roaming that land? Congratulations, and you're not alone.
@@SurvivalSpheres Recently came back to Witcher 3 for NG+ and to get my Platinum trophy :) Spent like 2 hours on that Marksman trophy xD
@@xLetalis Funny that in White Orchard Geralt says he can lift the curse of Lycanthrophy but with the level 7 quest with Niellen in Velen he says he cannot lift it. What is it Geralt ? Maybe Geralt has Alzheimer. Alsoo he says the people in crows perch need to put salt on the doorsteps and windows but in the "haunted house" quest hes says it is an od superstition to do that when he sees salt on top of the stairs that lead to the basement.
While they covered up Florian's cause of death, they straight up wrote on his tombstone that he committed crimes against nature...
Could it be, that in those times suicide was just a worse sin than being gay?
that’s exactly what he did
@@MrMarcetLP this could refer to either, imo it refers to the gay part.
"I've just found the final witcher 3 secret", followed by another thousand Witcher videos. Please never stop 😂
Haha I thought the same thing, that we had literally reached the end with Vivienne's death. But the path never ends.
@@SurvivalSpheres Both a blessing and a curse. On one hand delighted to find new details about a game I love, on the other hand apparently unobservant to miss thousands of details on a game I love
@@kieranmacrae4929 Yes you are right. Anyways, both aspects work as good reasons to visit that world again... like every few years or so.
2 things!
1) that eloquent Ghoul is a reference to a ghoul in The Witcher 1. In the graveyard, you will stumble upon a very well spoken ghoul that enjoys hearing stories!
2) I carried that stupid elven head with me through the entire game just to see if I could ever use it for something. That head has seen more of the world dead that it did alive most likely.
Whoah Whoah Whoah you can rescue a troll from nekkers??? I’ve spent 200 hours in velen and never seen that!
got a really old video about it :) it's called Harrasing a Troll
I'm surprised we even need to do it....how the hell are a bunch of nekkers gonna kill a troll made of rocks 🤢
Wooden swords are left for soldiers who do not die in battle. They were also left on the graves of poor soldiers who could not afford enough iron to throw away as a grave marker(everyone). They've also been known to be left for soldiers who lost their sword during battle. There are hosts of reasons wooden or "proxy" swords were used. Mostly, they were used for children/young men as a sign of showing bravery in the face of death". A sword wasn't just a sword at this point of history. It was the end all be all to represent strength, bravery, army, and war. Broken swords were often left on the graves of those who showed cowardice ( I remember one story of a man who ran when intruders entered his home and assaulted his wife and the villagers left a broken sword and chicken feathers on his grave when he died). Rarely would you ever see iron swords on open graves... ever. Wouldnt last a week without being looted. Ied say its a %1000 chance that wooden sword was put there by his lover(who is still alive as its shown) as a sign of bravery.
The reading on the gravestone 'stricken by apoplexy while hunting' basically means he died of some kind of brain haemorrhage or stroke.
The last line asking melitele for forgiveness may be a reference to his homosexuality.
Another great post as always. Long may they continue.
It has been very common over the years for people who died by suicide to be given a different cause of death to cover up the truth, that's put on their gravestones. "Accidentally shot" is one you'll see very often. The reason is that the church wouldn't allow people who died by suicide to be buried in consecrated ground, since they saw it as an unforgivable sin to end one's own life. Dante's Inferno even has it that there is a special circle of hell for people who die this way.
@@jhonbus Yeah, i was always interested why Church was so much against suicide. Its seems that its quite natural when people wants to end it all and enjoy the afterlife.
quite sure it is, lgbt people are often (especially in the past) referenced as being unnatural and against nature. In present day too of course but lesser so in the west as it is anywhere else. It's really on the nose if you've ever been on the receiving end of such sentiments.
@@fallyn2920 my thoughts exactly. The fact that it used the word unnatural instantly struck me as an attack on his sexuality.
We hear it all too often, even today, by far-right groups and evangelical Christians to shame and ostrisize people.
How little some people have changed since the dark ages.
i myself found those two gentlemen dead and holding hands many many years ago, before Letalis' video. that was my assumption also, they were in a relationship and decided to end it all together.
i just wished CDPR would have included a little love poem or suicide note or something. maybe an investigatory side quest in the nearest village or hamlet. 'my brother's gone missing'. another quest states, 'my son has run off for some reason!' and Geralt does some digging and finds the 'dandy friends' were together and persecuted by their families, friends, neighbors etc. once Geralt finds the corpses, he can bring them home to their families and maybe lie about how the men died. if he does lie, later on you can find a separate pair of graves and sobbing family members. if Geralt doesn't lie the families both reject the 'filthy buggering bastards' and Geralt can return the pair to their death-site and bury them himself to enjoy their eternal rest as a couple.
About that wooden sword on the grave of the landlord‘s son: it‘s very likely that it‘s meant to be some sort of mockery. In the middle ages, obtaining the legal status of a man (no longer being a child/adolescent) among the nobility usually involved a ceremony during which the "recipient" was shaved and handed a belt with a sword. So a wooden sword on his grave might indicate he was never "made a man" or he simply was considered a coward.
iiiiima need you to state your source on this
@@BlackstoneMASK I‘m studying history at a university. But as for the meaning behind the wooden sword on the grave specifically, I‘m also merely speculating as something like this might have never happened irl or just wasn‘t documented. However, the thing with entering adulthood by being given a sword etc. is true and there are sources (contemporary paintings, scripts…) documenting the procedure.
Thats very good point about mockery attempt to the last heir of barons son - in fencing a practice sword made of wood is called a "waster".
@@xElias01 again, you gonna have to show your sources. I cant find word one of any ceremonial shaving. the sword thing certainly *sorta* true, but again only partially
nevermind the fact that "the middle ages" are not homogeneous across the region or even their own time period.
you could say "in the middle ages it was illegal for a peasant to own a sword" and "in the middle ages peasants were legally required to own at least one sword per household"
both statements are 100% factually correct
basically, im not saying its impossible but i AM saying i think you are at best taking tiny fragments and making some extreme abductive reasoning. the "swird is mocking dead guy" point is immaterial to the whole issue.
Everytime you upload, is like a boost of nostalgic. Love it.
Just a random thought but I really wish I could experience this game for the first time again. Witcher 3 was really ahead of its time. I hope Witcher 4 will be as good as Witcher 3 tho I have my doubts.
yeah I know what you mean ;[
I'd never run into Boris the Troll until I saw this video--thanks for that!
Strange that Geralt says here that lycantrophy is easy to break, but in Witcher 1 he has no idea how to break the curse and tries about 4 different methods. Could be because of his amnesia, but still only the final method of true love (not between the werewolf and Geralt) works.
Isn't that actually 3 method?
I don't remember exactly, was ages ago. It was spread across chapter 2 and 3 and took me several trips to the swamp and back. Still, only love broke tha curse.
Lycanthrope is the end result of several curses, each curse is specific. The WW in Witcher 1 was cursed involving his wife meanwhile one of the WWs in Witcher 3 was cursed because he had a insatiable apatite to kill(therefore had to eat his own flesh). Its also different if you are bitten vs cursed... All curses in the witcher universe work like this, specific to the cursed party. Like the Spotted Wight who denied the guest a bite to eat so lifting the curse involved feeding them.
Also the quest in WItcher 3 with the hunter and his victim's sister in one of the Velen's villages, where you go tracking around the forest, the sister tries to bribe you, then find a house with a wolf den under. As i recall Geralt implies, if not directly say, that the only way is to kill him, that there is no cure. Don't recall the details of that quest, but it would seem like a contradiction.
@@Kristers_K Wasn't the hunter infected by another werewolf not cursed? Thus no cure..
Don't know if that's addressed, but just recently found a fast travel sign in Velen where there is a hut and inside a body of a son and a mother. And outside a man hanging from a tree. I believe it's called isolated hut or something.
Finally made it to an Xletalis video! Feel honored, lol
hey, thank you!
I think poison is more likely how that couple ended. Since they were put there by hand by the developers, it's not just a random corpse, maybe we'll get an official answer someday.
As for White Orchard there's a lot of story there, Mislav and Florian is one you need to piece together and can find out about everything if you explore but there's also the story of witcher Kolgrim who was killed in one of the tombs and the locals said the wraiths did it.
There is so much content from Witcher 3 so many years after the release, can you imagine how huge the next saga will be? With the UE capabilities if it comes to streaming very, very huge terrains I can only imagine how much content they can fit in it.
As long as they don´t fuck up the new game. It´s always dangerous when companies want to explote sagas even more. I hope it will be good tho...
All things considered, I sincerely doubt CDPR's capability to release another game as amazing and as deep as W3
CDPR staff changed a lot since TW3, but I still have hope that they can make another masterpiece.
The thought of such immensity in any game actually scares me nowadays
@@thehoodedvagabum7375 tbh it’s not just exploit, the whole community was thirsting and begging for a new Witcher game
They were overwhelmed with lot of expectations but surely they couldn’t say no cause it’s easy money
xLetalis knows more about The Witcher 3 than the devs
xLetalis Holmes uncovers all mysteries, from Velen all the way to Touissant.
I'm almost sure I saw these 2 alive at the same location. I can remember that I thought by myself "What do these merchants here, in the middle of nowhere and so close by the Wyvern."
It's not that long ago either, around a half year ago.
Man I remember randomly replaying years ago, and hearing that Hunter's story so realistic and emotional. Like every character exists and has a story, you just need to listen. Masterpiece game
I remember this couple presented by a polish CZcamsr a while back.
He introduced them by saying "You've heard of Romeo and Juliet now I present you Romeo and Julian"

I cant believe you can still make videos like this work. They have become strangely calming and nostalgic for me at this point.
Love your content, so impressed you can make content still, finding out stuff 7 years later
As always, you show me something new I had not noticed in this amazing and wonderful game. 😊 Thank you. 🌻
Also this is not about the video but after 8 playthroughs on the maine game and 7 with both dlc, I just learned that dijkstra will help geralt free dandelion by giving some men and it just makes me so happy when I have something different on a playthrough. Probably have seen it in one of your videos in the past but you have so many that I forget eventually. But damn did those new lines for me make me so happy today while playing.
Very interesting tale. I love how you are always finding new things.
It's not new
Damm thats actually saddening, rip dudes.
great video. i played through the game twice and i still cant get enough of these little details. its just the atmosphere the game creates and these videos live in. its amazing
Perhaps the wooden sword can also be interpreted as an anniversary gift, for 5 years of being together? Traditionally wood is interpreted as a symbol of strenght and enduring love in the context of an anniversary. Mislav could have placed it on the grave of Florian in that scenario.
I can't believe you're still making the best videos on CZcams. I feel so validated for my, seemingly unjustified love for the Witcher.
Didn't know about Boris the troll, what an interesting fellow. Also I like these minor tragedies videos so hope they never end :)
Are you a full-time youtuber now?
I have sunk probably around 1000 hours into this game, across multiple platforms, and yet you still find things that surprise me! Great stuff!!
Another great find, xLetalis! Last week, after 900+ hours, I stumbled upon a hut in western Velen, with a male body hanging from a noose outside and the bodies of a woman and her son inside. They however do not have any blood on them, but flowers around them and candles still burning. Never seen that before, which really amazed me.
Off topic but thanks for still uploading! Your videos are always entertaining no matter how many times I've already played this game u always find something new
Been a subscriber since 2019 and you never failed to amaze me since then.
damn, thank you!
Somehow after 7 years you still amaze me with your videos. I always cant wait to see the next one. Never stop
There could be a few reasons for a wooden sword that jump to mind:
1) Wooden swords were practice swords, so they would not harm each other. This could also mean he died during practice, or was a coward who wasn't man enough to wield a real sword.
2) In ancient Rome, a gladiator could receive a wooden sword (rudius) as a reward for excellent services in the arena, and be set free when receiving it. Could he be related to the pirates or slaves in Skellige (quest "Flesh for Sale")? It's the only place I recall having really seen slaves.
3) Could be an easter egg related to Game of Thrones? When Arya gets kidnapped by the Kingsguard, Syrio uses a wooden sword to fight them (despite being able to swap it for a metal sword)
4) It could be a reference to the Zelda games, where a wooden sword is a recurring item throughout the series (and I think The Witcher has a few of these easter eggs related to Zelda).
@xLetalis it's a reference to "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" 1997 film end scene.
I think this is correct. It's got the two men, looking at water, a bottle, and smoking.
They didn't hold hands tho, did they?
@@katearcher8514 yes and they didn't smoke pipes )

I never came across that troll, holy crap, I’ve played through this game at least 5 times the last 5 years and thought I came across everything
Wow, more details that I've missed in Witcher 3.
Thanks for sharing this with us once again!
my pleasure
I'd appreciate a playlist of your old The Witcher 3 videos, I scrolled so far back to just watch them a few days ago
Thanks xLetalis. There are a few archaeological finds of male skeletons holding hands. From Italy, the Roman-era Lovers of Modena, and prehistoric Lovers of Valdaro. Keep up the great work.
interesting!
Every time I watch one of your videos. It reminds me why I LOVE this game. Thanks you 🙏
Never made the connection between Florian and Mislav’s story and Claer and Volker. Thanks for pointing this out. I wonder how many other pretty obvious connections I’ve missed just because I’m bad at remembering names. Научих толкова много, благодарение на вас. Pretty sure this phrase is appropriate here.
What does the phrase mean?
@@SurvivalSpheres Just means something like ‘I’ve learnt a lot from you, thank you’, but my impression is it sounds slightly more formal in Bulgarian. I’m just going off the Russian I know - which in this case looks fairly similar.
You're awesome! And I swear, this is the game that keeps on giving!
Every video you post, makes me want to play witcher again… for the 4th time 😅 great videos
Oh cool, reason # 999 to replay the game for a 5th time. Thanks Xletalis

It's a good day when letalis uploads
I'm glad I'm not the only one to have found these details. The couple and the elf head being a missed opportunity to involve the other quest have always plagued me. I love this game
Interesting information on this in the game yeah it’s a true story on alan turing had his pipe and apple 🍎 beside him
great content!
I love that clip, "my favorite kind of magic, lesbomancy" never fails to make me laugh
Oh my,. xLetalis, damn you did it again - I hope it never stops :) Great work!
Your content makes me want to play the game again but I'm waiting for the next generation update
Loot is determined by the loot file (seriously). So it'll say something like 40% chance of an apple, 30% chance for 1-3 Orens (also a percentage for number of coins), 30% sandwich, etc.
As for Boris that Elf's Head was the very last unique loot I ever found in the game and that was on my third attempt.
I’m replaying the Witcher 3 right now and I’m still in Velen. I’ll make sure to find these two couples myself. Thanks Plamen! 👍🏻👍🏻
Sometimes I'm asking if I really played this game. It's so damn detailed that everytime I watch your videos about witcher curiosities, I see and noticed things that I missed. Love your videos and this game, it's so huge
Mind blowing! I really want to play this game again but with you being there and walk me through every detail 😂 sorry but...you keep feeding me knowledge and I want to learn more and more..
I just finished playing the witcher 3 for the first time and it's my first witcher game and i gotta say this is one of my favorite games i've played. I struggled a bit with the gameplay because it's not as smooth as other games i played recently but that didn’t change the fact i had so much fun playing it and i think i'll start a NG+ to just look around the world because when i played it at first I didn’t know the world was so big and filled with little details. Great game, I don’t know why it took me so long to play it.
Man you are a legend for this game ❤️
Woah, Boris the troll!? That is quite interesting, there are many fun trolls in the game but this is one of the encounters I seem to have missed entirely hehe :). It's amazing how many stuff can be found while exploring this game! :) Seriously it's a shame that you can't use that elf head (also holy hell the reference to the talking ghoul from Witcher 1!!! Amazing! What was his name? Vetala? Now THAT'S how you make continuity ahahah)
indeed!
I have to meet Boris the troll now
This game has so much goddamn heart and good writing.
I finished this game few years back on PC. I bought it again for PS5 because of your videos. There's too many good contents to miss. 😅
Dont ever stop making these.
Hi, I found out one small cool detail on Kaer Morhen. When the Battle with Wild Hunt Is on Kaer Morhen, you can try to fight Imlerith. You just need to take off the horse while returning to fortress with Lambert And Letho. Once you get Down, Imlerith starts to Attack you. He has normal healh bar, but his level Is "??" and everywhere around Is White Frost, because Yenefer's barrier Is closing to the fortress
current replaying the witcher 3 for the 18th(i think?) time in preparation for the next gen edition.
thanks for the witcher vids
I hope there is extra content in the complete edition, probably another three or so years of videos until Witcher 4.
The bit about apples being poisonous was part of a task during my chemistry finals. It turns out that apple seeds contain small amounts of a molecule (been a few months so I don't remember the details) that, when digested, reacts to HCN, which reacts with H2O to H3O+ and CN- (Cyanide).
The joke of this task, though, was that one would have to consume some 32 apples (seeds included) to reach a threshold, where the amount of consumed apple seeds, would take toll on the body, making it more or less impossible to get any adverse health effects or even die because of this. The reason for that is kinda obvious (mostly because nobody eats the seeds).
Don't know, how actually related this is to the video, as the apples could have been poisoned and weren't really the main clue anyway, but someone could find this interesting nonetheless.
I’m just starting another play through of the game.. again, And every time I play through I find more.. the amount of detail in this game is 100% unmatched. Witcher 4 is apparently coming, and I’m stoked, but it has some big shoes to fill.
You know, every video for the last 3 years or so, I say to myself "this is the last Witcher 3 video, he can't possible do another one" and yet, time after time, I've been proven wrong. I just don't say those silly thing to myself anymore, this is amazing, this game is amazing.
At 7:25 it said "May Melitele forgive him his sins against nature and its laws." implies they tried to cover it as much as they could but still couldn't get past their hatred towards homosexuality.
this dudes life is walking around randomly checking every bush and unturned stone
It is weird that they are facing different directions.
Couples holding hands usually face the same way. It looks as if one was trying to get the other away or something similar.
And every time i ask myself how is he still finding so many details after 7 years
I was recently replaying hearts and stone and remembered when you talk about there being two figures alongside iris in a painting and how they could be the cat and dogs true form. I think the cat and dog may have shape-shifted into people at some point because if you look at the table in the house its set for 3 people but the table in the painted house is only set for 1. The cat and dog mention that they don't eat but the caretaker always set out their bowls so it would make sense that if they were in human form the caretaker would set out 2 extra plates.
Okay, I thought I've seen it all, I have over 1000+ hours in The Witcher, I know most of the things that are in your videos (and I'm watching them anyway, because your videos are awesome!), BUT... I have never met Boris the Troll. WHAT THE HELL? How could I have missed him? And how come I didn't even know about him..?
I've made a small video of meeting him a long time ago ;]
Honestly...i started the game ...like a month ago...i am late ik ....but ...i already know everything that's gonna happen one after another thanks to this guy
Historians say they were good friends
The couple holding hands may be a reference to Lovers of Modena maybe?
About the elf head, I'm curious if you immediately drop the elf head in front of the troll after receiving it. Haven't done so.
I've never seen any consequences to dropping things, ever. Have you?
@@katearcher8514 No, I haven't. Which is why I was wondering.

The line about the talking Ghoul. Maybe a reference to Witcher 1 🤔 His voice in german is incredibly funny xD
yes
