Looks Amazing! And quite a budget build. I remember watching your PVC video and thinking about how good your bed looks compared to my ’62 wrong-bed. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks John. Yes, I'm pretty happy with how little it cost to put together. I did get lucky on a lot of my purchases, and I believe prices have gone up on pretty much everything I needed, since I built the truck a couple of years ago. I'm sure it would cost more if I tried to do the same today.
Just finished watching all your videos. Excellent job Wayne!!! You are a master builder!!! Very impressive!! I too got a 60 short box out of Sask last year and have had it in the shop all winter, but I’m just rebuilding to stock. Maybe someday I would like to do a swap like you did. Yours looks very professional, amazing!! You are very easy to listen to, great videos Wayne! Thank you Todd
Thank you for the kind words Todd, it makes my day! I'd like to make it back to Saskatchewan some day to look for my next project. I think there are still a few gems to be found there. I'm really enjoying my 60. I'm sure you will too. Good luck with your build!
Don’t wait too long to get back to Sask, the scrap guys are cleaning everything up. It’s real sad to see. The scrap guys are paying good and the older ranchers and farmers are letting it all go.
@@todddaniels9488 good point. It's amazing how much scrap prices have changed in the last couple of years. I gave away my crown Vic body because scrap was worthless 2 years ago.
I bought the Vic about 3 years ago. The RCMP (Canadian national Police Force) were selling a lot of them at time and $1200 Canadian, was about the going rate. Since then the Canadian government made the crazy decision to no longer sell retired police vehicles. This along with used car prices going up in general has pushed Vic prices way up here too. I think around $4k is the new going rate here now. I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy a few more when they were cheap.
That's very high praise, thank you! It might not be SEMA material, but I don't think I could buy anything as nice for the money I've got into it. I've sold another $500 worth of parts since I made the video, so my bottom line is even a little better now!
Love the truck. Great job. I am wondering if you still have the mirrors off the original truck in printed photo? I'm redoing my truck and I need those style mirrors. I'm having an extremely difficult time finding them, so I'm reaching out.
Thanks! I still have one mirror, but not the bottom bracket that attaches to the door. Someone else beat you to it. If you're still interested in the mirror, contact me at janzen.wayne@gmail.com and I'll send you some pictures.
The truck was a good deal at $800. I bought it almost 3 years ago and prices were lower then. I had posted on a fb group that I was looking for a project truck and a farmer in Saskatchewan sent me the picture I used in the video, and a few more. I gave him an etransfer for his asking price without even seeing it. The truck was far from perfect and I did a lot of rust repair on the floor and cab corners, but still a great deal. I'm always looking for deals like this. I don't find them very often.
@@waynejanzen9346 ok I have nothing at this point so painted or chrome would be a great start, the shipping would be to Warwick Rhode Island, 02886 I wonder how much they would charge me to ship it, also how much would you like to get for it, (I’m in United States, so US currency)
Oh, and I should have mentioned, you did do a great budget built “hot rod” I think it’s much too nice to be called a rat rod, way to much time for that catagory.. I really like it, maybe if deboss does a show this year you can enter it..
@@ryanhogan6509 thanks for the nice words about my truck! It's been a fun project. Please send me an email, janzen.wayne@gmail.com, so I can send you some pictures and we can discuss details there.
So good Wayne. I could just watch your vehicle rehab projects endlessly and repeatedly.
Really happy to hear you're enjoying the videos enough to watch them more than once Howard! Thanks!
@@waynejanzen9346 Totally! I'm truly intrigued
I like all the free thinking...looks fantastic
Thank you very much!

Thanks Tom! And thanks too for the feedback on the PVC bed ends. The bed I used came off a wrong bed like yours.
Great Video, Great Work, and Cool Truck!
Thank you very much!
Man that’s awesome that you can have a nice truck like that for that amount of money
Thanks!
Absolutely awesome! Haven't even looked to see what other videos you have up, but I'm subscribed. I love everything about this.
Thanks man! Hope you enjoy the other videos too.
Wow! So impressive. Love it!
Thanks for the info. I can’t believe you did all that for so cheap. Sometimes it’s about knowing where to get the right deals…

One of my favorite builds!
Thank you!
@@waynejanzen9346 I wish you were my neighbor, I'd pay you to help me build one!
Around where I live, a decent Crown Vic that is mechanically sound is $2500-3000. Like to find a couple for $1200.

Your going to make me look bad. 😂
I'm guessing you're spending a little more?
Nice
Love it... I want one too... not a bad price either.
Thanks Neal!
The good part is that you know how to do all that work yourself.
Exactly! I learned a lot doing this project, and really enjoyed doing it all myself. Thanks.

Yes, I had some good luck getting parts at a good price and being able to sell what I didn't need.
Not a bad amount quite good if I could say
Thank you! I was pretty happy with the total price too.

Actually someone else saw it too and wanted it. It got sent to Australia. I do still have a painted grill though. I would be willing to ship it.

Paint???
Hi Ryan, I did a fake patina paint job on it.

Enough with the patina!
