Your videos are wonderfully informative, and VERY much appreciated🙌🏾 My family are also mixed-race (I am black and British, my hubby is white and American, our children are 13 and 8)! We live in New York and are looking to relocate to somewhere warmer year-round, inclusive, LGBTQ-friendly, and with no guns😓 We spoke with a couple of relocation companies today, and Portugal appears to be a good fit for us. I’m going to join some Facebook groups (as you advise), but I wanted to reach out and say “Thank Youuuuuuuuu!!!”🙏🏾
We’re going to research various areas, and then plan a trip before relocating at the beginning of 2024😬 I’m DEFINITELY going to keep watching your videos, and hope that maybe we can have a cup of tea when we come to visit (maybe this summer)…..!!
Just so you know that we’re not crazy stalkers🤪our family channel has more about us (Leave It To Lauretta). I’m using my (as yet, unpublished) business channel because my other channel is available on our televisions, and we haven’t had “the talk” with the children yet…..we wouldn’t want them to stumble across all of these relocation videos before we’re ready with decisions and answers to questions😬😬😬😬😬😬

My husband moved to Estonia from Brasil as we decided to make our family in my country. And now we are going to give us a chance to build our future with two kids in Portugal.
You said very important things what are often without proper evaluation, because usually the idea of moving seems huge and overwhelming by itself. But the same small details are exactly the ones what will build the life in a new place and will bring the excitement or the opposite :)
From our experience the mentality of the local people was really important point to consider, sometimes you just don't get used with the way locals communicate, build friendly relationships ect. The thing what happend to us. My husband misses too much the openess and cheerfulness of the people around. He kept always greeting strangers in a bus station, on the street and neighbours with " bom dia" ( in estonian). This is what brasilians do always. It is not polite when you dont greet a person coming by even in the forest :) .. and often he receive suspicious glances and just a silence back. Estonians don't greet each other even sometimes the neighbours, it is not the custom unfortunately. He is doing this less and less and it makes him very sad. Seems the small detail, but how it can influence the wellbeing!

Yes it is definitely a big decision and it needs to be well prepared when you jump out in it as a family.
