- Time to visit Boston! the largest city in New England region famous for its seafood, history and love for sports! It's the most European looking city in my opinion. Some of its neighborhoods like Back Bay and Beacon hill look like Europe for sure. Thanks for watching!

For any music students, Boston also has among the best music scenes and colleges in the nation. It has more high-profile conservatories than even NYC, having Berklee, Boston Conservatory, and New England Conservatory, as compared to NYC's MSM and Juilliard. It has one of the most lively music scenes, with tons of live music, as well as great performance venues such as the Boston Symphony, Boston Lyric Opera, Boston POPS, etc. Headed there for my first year at Boston Conservatory and I absolutely LOVE the city.

Enjoyed your video. The "European" look that is attributed to Boston can be found in many of the oldest cities along the east coast of the US that date from the 17th and 18th centuries, such as Philadelphia, Baltimore, DC (Georgetown), Alexandria, Charleston, and New York City. Many of the cities along the east coast have preserved lovely neighborhoods with historic architecture. Boston is certainly one of them.

Also, compared to all the cities you listed Boston is not really built on a grid, with the exception of Back Bay that was a late 1800s addition. The city sort of sprawls organically, which is part of why traffic is so strange. But it lends the city and old world charm.

It also has the top pediatric hospital (Boston Children’s Hospital) in the world, and other top notch hospitals like Tufts Medical Center (which saved my life giving me emergency brain surgery at 2 in the morning after an accident) they have a HUGE medical district.
My son went to that hospital when he was little...he was treated for Lyme disease. It is indeed a very good hospital!

I have lived in Massachusetts for many years and about two years ago I went to London. Sometimes while walking through the streets of London I would forget that I was in England and started looking for the names of the streets in Boston, because it looks like so much. I was really impressed as to how much Boston and London look alike.

As a real Boston raised man, I would like to thank you for providing such a thorough and mostly accurate portrayal of my home town of Boston. I grew up in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston and I'm disappointed it didn't get a mention especially since you spotlighted the Samuel Adams lager from their downtown tap house touristy location instead of the brewery location, which is in my beloved Jamaica Plain. That's ok. You can visit it next time!

We visit Boston every year for several nights on our way to Maine. Your video really captures the essence of Boston and gave me some new places to put my list for this year. So well done Thank you.
From Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. was there for the first time in Sept. to see a concert. Love, love, love that place!! So impressed with everything about it. Great subway system and such a walkable place. Going back for sure.
I ended up in Boston because in 1978 I ran away from home. I first lived at the Meeting House in Charles Street (Beacon Hill) because a friend/minister saved me from the streets. That summer I slept and lived in the bell tower with two other runaways.
I found work, a rooming house and started my life here.
I’ve lived in Beacon Hill (poor people used to be able to rent cheap dumps on the back side of the hill). The South End, Kenmore, Fenway and Dorchester.
Now I’m in the West End in an old high rise. I’m right behind Mass General Hospital. The Red Line is there but across the street is the Green Line and a couple blocks away is the Orange Line.
I did purchase a parking spot under the building. It’s great to have my car available for when I need to go outside of town or bring home a lot of groceries. Heavy bags are hard to handle in the subway and on the Green Line, it’s impossible to lift my cart up the stairs into the subway.
I’ve thought about moving to other cities. Boston is my home. It’s getting a lot more diverse (a big plus). The winters can be tough. But everything I need is right here.

My family and I are visiting New York and Boston from the UK in a little over a weeks time. This is my first time out of Europe in my 73 years. I cannot begin to tell you how excited we are!

Incredible that you got 99.9% of the factual stuff correct. Just one tiny correction. The battles of nearby Lexington and Concord started the American Revolutionary War. The British were not forced out of Boston until about a year later. But other than that, A+
Once, when I went to the Boston Public Library to finish a college term paper, I was horrified to find a sign on the door that said that it was closed for "Evacuation Day". It's a city holiday on March 17th, though many people aren't aware of it.

This is probably one of the most expensive cities to live in.
That is something you definitely want to keep in mind.

I was one week ago at Chicago and after Boston and i thought i would prefer Chicago but Boston was by far better. I did love Chicago as well but Boston is really pleasant. We did everything by feet, People are nice, i thought sometimes i was in Europe and this video shows with perfection the essence of Boston. It is a small town with the benefits of a big one.

I think it would have rounded out the picture to at least mention Roxbury and Dorchester, which are often overlooked and are very interesting neighborhoods. There are many ethnic enclaves, Franklin Park, and other things well worth mentioning, which deepen the portrait of Boston in its complexity.

Really nice video and pretty comprehensive for those who don’t know Boston. Driving time to NYC is really only 3.5 hours but you can also take the train, which is easier. Cape Cod weekend traffic is brutal in the summer so taking a day trip to Provincetown by ferry from Boston is recommended rather than driving.
