Hey ausi, as a grad recruiter what's your take on video resumès? Competition is really tight out there and it's crucial for a prospective candidate to do or use all the resources they have at their disposal to stand out, in conjunction with a good LinkedIn profile and all other relevant requirements of course.
Importantly, I'm asking the above in a broader sense, being a person working at one of the large firms in SA, I'm sure you may have a notion of how other grad recruiters evaluate a candidate during a hiring process.

Thabang, I’ve definitely seen the rise in video resumes and personally I do think it’s innovative!! It’s not something that is as widely used at this point time, so I haven’t heard of other recruiters accepting it as part of a formal application process...but is certainly is where I think things are going in the future! So I don’t think there’s any harm in having one ready and available. And when you apply for different opportunity’s you can ask whether you cab submit a video resume. And if they accept it then go for it.
