Jake had an unexpected hospital visit and had to go to the emergency room. He had an accident playing football and it was worse than we thought. The hospital visit turned out good though because the emergency room doctor was really good with Jake.

TIPS : With a concussion, he shouldn’t be on the phone, watch tv, or even be around a lot of noise (which I know is hard with the big family). He should be in his room with the lights off, relaxing. I myself have a big family, and have had over 5 concussions from playing soccer. I hope you see this so you guys can be careful!! Hope he’s doing better! Also, YES give yourself a break. You just had a baby!!!
Also dont ignore it if symptoms come back up I had a concussion back in December and I still have problems remembering things

Yes! Brain rest is highly suggested after a concussion.
Kayla McLemore in the '60's I had a concussion. I was just eight years old. Apparently I vomited all over the doctor. I woke up in a hospital room the day after the accident not having a clue what happened and not knowing where I was. They wouldn't let me get out of the hospital bed for three days. When I went home, more rest. I hope you're all healed Jake.

I'm guessing you never gave birth? Or pregnant? Towards the end you are so tired but can't breathe! Then birth..your body goes through major trauma. You must heal

Hi. I am a little concerned: I see Jake was on his phone, when he was on the couch after the ER visit. The doctor and/or nurse probably gave instructions to have "brain rest" after a concussion. When I had a concussion almost 2 years ago, they gave me instructions of brain rest for at least 48 hours. No screens: meaning no cellphone, t.v., computer, and no reading; basically rest.
Hope he feels better soon. P.S. a milkshake might be a nice option while his mouth is healing: straw, cold, yummy!

I guess it depends... I had a pretty bad concussion a few years ago and they never told me not to watch tv or anything, just to not move much and rest (as in stay in bed) as to not get dizzy

Praying Jake has a speedy recovery and that all is well with him.
I had a concussion this past winter from slipping on ice. Jake needs to be off his phone and away from all screens. If he doesn't, you could see some post-concussion syndrome issues creeping in like chronic headaches, and issues with mood swings, nausea, memory, and vision. Believe me, it's hard. He's going to be so bored, but his brain needs time to rest and recover.

please keep a close eye on jake and take him to a neurologist. my concussion ended up being a brain injury and i have permanent memory issues and constant migraines, even ten years later

Take him to a neurologist I got a small concussion and it was a huge problem.
Same with me. After my concussion 3 years ago, I have an ABI and have short term memory loss still to this day.
After I got a concussion, I got really bad headaches pretty much every single day for the following year. I still do get headaches every day but now they're not as bad.

Yes! On of my family members played football and boxing and had concussions a lot. Now he struggles with intense short memory loss and it is so hard to see him go through that.

Even though you didn’t bring the baby home, you still had a baby, you must rest and heal! I know you must have energy specially since you don’t have a newborn to take care of but at least rest your 6 weeks! Enjoy the house being a mess with your family at least a couple more days, Ik they understand you still need to take things easy rather it was an easy birth or not!

I’m so glad y’all went to the hospital right a way with Jake’s injury especially with the concussion. I have had two concussions and my brother has had 4 concussions in 10 months. Be sure and check on awake through out the night because of his concussions. Any type of injury is serious do not take it lightly. Prays for a fast recovery. Also when you have a concussion do not go to school for a couple of days to a week depending on how serious the concussion is. Also you can’t do any physical or mental exercise that can make toe concussion healing process take longer. You are technically suppose to be in your room in the dark laying on your bad doing nothing just have your eyes closed. Prayers going out to Jake!
Exactly! Head injuries are no joke and should be taken so seriously. Its what controls the rest of your body obviously so its very important so im really glad Crystal took him. It's always better safe than sorry and he did end up having a concussion. Poor Jake! He's a tough kid and I know he'll pull through.

I’m 23 years old and I just had my second child 3 weeks ago and can’t get myself to keep up with my daily chores and activities like I normally would. Having 2 children is way different than having one. Your family is seriously amazing.
Awww! Poor Jake, he is so strong. This summer I was in a four-wheeler wreck and had a three inch deep cut in my thigh from the handle bar. Now he knows that he is not the only one with stitches this summer.☺ Love this channel!!!💕💕💕

If you feel like you are getting too many eggs for you to use you can cook them, crush them a bit and then give them back to the chickens, since they are producing so many eggs its a good way for them to get some of the calcium and other nutrients they lose when producing so many eggs!
Yes this is so true chickens have been bred to have a reproductive cycle wayyy too often. Feeding them back their eggs boiled and with shell is actually great for them.

Must be the universe, I had to get up at 5 just to sort out everything so my regular day could start at 6:30 and I wasn't having a baby or caring for a big family who were all going back to school in this scary pandemic time and having to isolate from their favourite people, their cousins. YOU deserve to just sit for many moments in the day to cherish you and how amazing you are
Concussions are so scary! I love how calm Crystal stayed. Good job mom! As for your chicken eggs you can actually keep them a lot longer if you don't wash them after they are collected. Keep them in a cool dark cabinet. It's counter-intuitive but true: Your eggs will stay fresher if you don't wash them them at all. ... When you wash eggs, you can drive some bacteria in through the pores of the shell, so it's a bad idea to do so unless needed just before cooking as a general practice. If your nests are clean, your eggs should be clean. Happy clucking

Concussions suck. I’ve had 6 in less than 3 years from fainting spells (I have POTS, it affects the blood pressure and heart rate) and as soon as you get one, you’re more prone to have one again in the future. Hopefully he heals well! Don’t forget to rest in the dark with no screens. I didn’t follow my doctor’s instruction to stay in the dark the first time and learned the hard way to follow everything because it made my concussion so much worst!

after having 2 concussions, the best way for me to heal was to be in a dark room with no lights on! also, limit screen time to speed up the process. hope jake has a smooth and speedy recovery!!

Can definitely get stitches in your lips...I've had them there 3 different times.
Poor kid. I have been there personally. With me being a content creator it is a pain when my laptop is in for repair/servicing. It will be painful for a while. It is also normally to feel quite dizzy and sleepy too. I hope you feel better soon Jake.

That’s a very sweet and real message that many people need to hear... even myself. There are just not enough hours in a day to do everything needed, wanted, and then to fit in the unplanned. Adulting can be rough some times. Remembering to enjoy life, slow down, and give yourself some grace is important.
Exactly! We are all human and some days are just tough and we don't get everything done we want or done a certain way we want it and life is so short so it's SO important to just relax and on the days that things aren't perfect the way you want, not to beat yourself up for it because it happens. Just plan it for another day. I love that Crystal is so real and honest and she doesn't try and make it look like she has a perfect life and nothing goes wrong like some CZcamsrs do. Shes real and vulnerable and honest and genuine and relatable. Thats what I love about her and her family

Pray for me and my state I live in Louisiana and right now we are going through a double hurricane and things are supposed to get worse and we need all the prayers we can get and if you don’t believe in prayer wish us luck or something because we NEED it the second hurricane just made landfall and some areas will get up to 20 feet of water and in 2016 we went through a bad hurricane and some people are still living in FEMA trailers and some are just getting their houses finished we CANT go through this again so please pray and wish or anything we need it 🙏🏾

Right after a concussion, it is very important to not have a lot of extra noise or screen time. I'm surprised that the doctor didn't mention brain rest. It makes a huge difference in the recovery from a concussion.

I play football ⚽️ and My legs are covered in bruises from being accidentally kicked during a tackle and I have had a lot of knee and ankle injuries
There are injury’s in every sport- the overuse injury’s also aren’t super often if you go to a proper and good school

As far as I understand, waking up every 2 hours is typically only necessary if there is significant swelling on the brain or brain bleed, to ensure it doesn't progress into a more significant issue (shock, stroke, coma, etc.). Sounds like the CT scan was all clear, which is great!
Once they officially adopt the new kids, hopefully we will get a new intro.
Poor Jake..I hope he feels better soon. I've had a concussion before. Not fun. Watch for him to be dizzy and have feelings of vertigo even when he's lying down. Take it easy, Jake! ❤️
