It follows the unmitigated defeat and failure that has pursued LeBron James across his entire career, from the Cleveland Cavaliers with Mo Williams and Zydrunas Ilgauskas , to the Miami Heat with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh, back to the Cavs with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, and on to the Los Angeles Lakers with Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. Everywhere that LeMickey goes only disappointment and unreached potential follows. One day LeMickey might earn himself a morsel of respect, but everyone here at Skip Bayless productions are unsure of how that will ever come into fruition as LeBron James is also responsible for the greatest superstar meltdown in sports history when he crumbled and choked in the 2011 NBA Finals against Dirk Nowitzki, JJ Barea and the Dallas Mavericks. While I recognize that LeBron is a great player the GOAT talk is what boils my blood. Of all the what if's about LeBron I challenge his most devout fans to answer this what if for me: what if Jordan and LeBron's stats and careers were swapped? Let's say that LeBron played in the 90's and Jordan is playing today.
What if LeBron had 6 rings in 6 Finals appearances (never swept), 6 Finals MVPs, two 3-peats, 5th all-time in scoring, 10 scoring titles, 9 All Defensive Team selections, was the only player in NBA history to win Defensive Player of the Year and the scoring title, played 82 games nine times and two Slam Dunk contest wins? Conversely what if Jordan had 4 rings in 10 Finals appearances (across 4 different teams and swept twice), 3rd all-time in scoring, 1 scoring title, 5 All Defensive Team selections, no Defensive Player of the Year and never entered even entered the Slam Dunk contest. Oh yeah, and Jordan wore LeBron's number in high school and most of his career and also made a sequel to LeBron's movie from the 90's.
In this scenario who's the GOAT?
Let's also say that LeBron, not Jordan, signed a deal with Nike that transformed the company into a small brand making running shoes into one of the most dominant sports brand in the world and people and players alike all wore your shoes? That a pair of LeBron's from 1994 were the most revered sneaker of all time and a logo that is just as valuable and recognizable as the Apple, Mercedes and BMW logo. What if players of yesteryear and even today regard LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers as the greatest team in history with a storied 72-10 season?
I could go on and on but the moral of the story is that anyone that believes that LeBron is the GOAT is clearly out of their mind and are in complete denial of reality.
I remember Jordan winning 3 chips in a row, retiring for 18 months then coming back and winning 3 times in a row again. Not LeBron. I remember Jordan being recruited to the Bulls, one of the worst teams in the league at the time, and transforming that team into the biggest threat in the league. Not LeBron, who's left Cleveland twice and talked s*** about people in Cleveland the first time he left. I remember Jordan going into the Finals and coming out a winner. Not LeBron and unless we're giving away participation trophies for simply getting to the Finals then lots of other players deserve much more credit.
Jordan will always be the GOAT.

This meant that in order for a team to become a contender, they'd need to draft a star, and revamp their approach to what the NBA defined as a team at this point -then came Kobe and a few other out-standers. Now, when Mike was all set to retire for good, it seemed that the NBA realized that it needed a new poster guy. Initially they tried billing Kobe as the next Mike. But when this question was posed to Kobe about being the next Michael Jordan. His response was anything other than expected. Kobe said that he wasn't the next Mike. He's the first Kobe. So the search began for a superstar. Here is when the NBA started promoting a unknown high school baller named Lebron James. And they promoted him as though he was the second coming of the Messiah. And they have continued to promote him this way for reasons beyond any comprehension. I refer to Lebron as the Donald Trump of basket ball for obvious reasons.
