Maybe it's because I'm a guy but I never understood the concept of "Outfit Repeating". If an outfit looks good on you and you feel good and comfy in it, wouldn't you want to wear it consistently? I don't mean every day but often.
22:28. Same. Growing up watching Disney Shows I was kinda low-key jealous the girls got all these cool and trendy outfits while the guys were stuck with the same cookie-cutter, basic crap.

When someone is insecure they'll find meaningless things to ridicule you for. Also men base their worth on their strenght, girls on their looks. (At least from what society expects) so it was like a game to see which girl can buy the most outfits and best ones.
That's what outfit rememberer comes from, telling her that she's so obsessed with always wanting to be on top that she memorizes every outfit that everyone ever wore and how many times they wore it just to point it out, someone like that is really pathetic.

I enjoyed their hair so much cuz I recognized it in a lot of early Black teen magazines and shows or on the girls on black hair care boxes. It is so interesting to see non Black people who could make it work with their outfits without approaching some weird level of appropriation. Might mess around and dress in clothes like Miranda.

A classmate in highschool would constantly comment about how other people were repeating outfits or wearing the same piece of clothing in consecutive days (even items like coats and shoes) or if they wore cheap clothing (funny because most of her clothes were fast fashion from the mall). And at the time I didn't have money for clothing, so I'd have to constantly repeat a lot of clothing items and buy them cheap in local stores, so having her commenting that made me very anxious. I never heard her talking about my clothes, but I bet she would also comment. Also I always found so weird how she could notice how some random person was wearing the same jeans they wore 2 days ago and how she would even remember small details, like the brand and design.

Maybe it's just my bubble, but i genuinely believe outfit repeating as a bad thing is something created for television. I did grew up in a Polish village, so there wasn't a single person who could afford not repeating outfits in a 50km radius at least (i remember wearing outfits i got from my older cousins, we would sometimes alternate clothes if we wanted to wear something "new" and cute and no one batted an eye), but even now when i live in a city i never once heard anyone in the real world badmouth someone because they repeat outfits (and i partook and eavesdropped on a lot of gossip sessions in high school). If it's a thing in your circles, please let me know.
it was also not a thing in my circles when I lived in Siberia, but it is definitely a thing in North America, at least in my experience

Yes, same in my country city in Brasil. Actually the opposite: people would compliment cool clothes I wore repeatly, like "I love that XYZ top/pants you have, you should wear it more"
American here. Most of don't care about outfit repeating, BUT my mom has a cousin who refused to wear the same outfit to school twice in the 80s and 90s. Her mom would buy some trendy clothes that were on sale, have her daughter wear each piece of clothing once, then monthly, she'd have a garage sale so they could sell all the clothes and use that money to buy clothes for her daughter. I think some of these people refuse to wear the same outfit twice to appear richer than they actually are, as a "flex", like you're so "rich" that you never wear the same outfit twice.
I will say though, 99% of people I know repeat their outfits and don't pick on others for repeating their outfit, since it's normal to wear clothes multiple times (obviously). I think people associate the whole "I never wear the same outfit twice" thing as something spoiled rich girls do.
Same here in Italy. I've never heard of people criticising someone for "outfit repeating"

The hairstylist was hairstyling so hard 👏 I was in elementary school when the last season was airing and the when it aired again, and I remember telling my mom to style my hair like Miranda's, I went to school stylish af but at the end of the day the hairstyle was ruined hahaha

This show was my absolute favorite. I was the perfect age for it and still have such a soft spot for it. I think the key with the whole "outfit repeater" context is that Kate is the rich girl throughout the whole show, with all the stereotypes of not having present parents, an older sister who doesn't care, etc. She's insulting Lizzie (whose parents can't afford the $100 hip huggers, hence why she buys then then is so upset when she can't return them) for being "poor." It was definitely a time of having super specific it items that couldn't be replicated and personal style was not celebrated. Status quo ONLY. Loved this video as always!
When I was a child, I thought that the "outfit repeater " was a US tv thing, even now that I study in a rich people college I always see my friends repeating outfits

The Australian equivalent of Lizzie McGuire was The Saddle Club (not narrative wise - because horses, but tween popularity levels, most of the girls ended up releasing music). The had no issue repeating wardrobe items on the show. There's a pink & blue Japanese inspired long sleeve top that the mean girl sidekick wears every few episodes that fills me with regret that I was never able to pick it up from my local Target Country.
I'm not an look repeater, at least to my best, however i'm a clothes repeater. Before i buy a piece i always make sure it will work with most of my closet so i can wear it for a week yet the look never look the same. It's really fun to me to find a new way to assemble my pieces.

I’m a chronic outfit repeater, I don’t have the brain power in the mornings before work, I just need to be clothed. I don’t know how anyone would notice. when I was in high school the days would bleed together, there’s no way I would’ve noticed someone else being an outfit repeater. I work in two different offices so sometimes I wear the same thing two days in a row.

I used to have a neighbor who would never wash her clothes. Every week she would go to the thrift store and buy new outfits, then throw all her unwashed ones in the dumpster.

Funny story. I think Target or Justice had both pairs of jeans just like the ones from the best dressed because I begged my mom to buy them for me. They didn't last 8 months the jeans literally started to disintegrate from being worn to much. But I loved those jeans so much even if they were cheaply made knock offs.

In North America isn't always like that besides the famous major cities. Usually, it's more about brands than a trendy piece of clothing in my area and time period. People made fun of my clothes for being poor when I was younger. Since then, I have gotten some indie and special pieces of clothing. 🤷♀️
