I drove the g90, new 750i and s550 ( before the 560) and this ct6. Based on facts and common sense on pricing dynamics, my last 2 was the CT6 and G90. After another week of driving both along winding roads, weight, straight line acceleration etc, I chose the Caddy baby. Black on black platinum model. The G90 was exceptional, but felt I may get bored with it sooner than I thought. More so, the genesis will depreciate faster because the brand is just starting up. All luxury cars depreciate like a tone of Brick, but think g90 will depreciate more. It will take time for people to start appreciating the brand. Overall all cars are becoming more reliable in their own way, but damn!!! when I open my garage door and look at the bad boy CT6 saying to me, "let's go for a ride baby" I could not be happier. Gosh, I am having an affair...Lol
I don't know where you live, but here in Ontario, the E-class starts only $700 less than the Cadillac, and I would bet anything it doesn't have as many standard features. The Lexus LS has a base price $33,000 higher than the the CT6, I'd hope it's better for that kind of price difference!
I agree Zack the styling is great. Looks gets people into the showroom. Without that you've got nothing. You have to be at the dance for a chance to take the girl home. Carry on.
This CT6 is remarkable in three respects: innovative integration of technology; distinctive design language that pays homage to traditional Cadillac styling cues; and huge power for a small displacement engine. Regrettably, I think it will still struggle to sell at the price, where the Germans still reign supreme in badge prestige, interior finish, and possibly driving dynamics.
rod22lt usually when people say that it’s them projecting their own badge Queen logic. What OP meant was THEY wouldn’t buy the CT6 at this price and rather buy the more popular luxury German badge if they’re gonna spend this type of money. Not necessarily because the German’s car is better than the CT6, mainly because they rather have the German badge in their driveway versus a Cadillac, whether the Caddy is a better car or not.
Beautiful car. American cars will be back on top at this rate of exceptional design. Lincoln is doing the same thing. No reason to buy foreign with these high valued offerings.
"Foreign"? You do realize that Cadillac is an American brand, right? What's with all these oddball protectionist comments on this video? Buy whatever the hell you want. Personally, I'd never consider the Cadillac when it's priced at the same point as the new BMW 5 Series and Lexus LS. Cadillac is being greedy, and this car needs to fail so they can see that. If it was maybe 20k cheaper, I'd consider it over an Equus, but even then, I think I'd rather have the Equus.
I think Cadillac and Lincoln are underpriced for what they offer in comparison to other luxury brands. Many people that once would not consider these brands are and will buy these brands because they are offering an outstanding product. Mercedes and BMW haven't offered anything spectacular in years. They are falling into the same trap as American luxury cars did in the seventies. As far as your first statement/ question, my first post did not imply that Cadillac or Lincoln are foreign brands. Yes, they are American brands.
South Hill Farm what planet do you live on...have you seen the current Mercedes Benz Sclass or Eclass...have you seen the current cars Audi is churning out like the S8 and Rs7... and you wanna compare this this GM pos to the Germans... open your damn eyes...the Germans continue to break sales records in North America year in and year out... the Sclass is the best selling full size luxury sedan by a mind boggling margin....the only American cars worth buying are the cts-v and the Corvette...that's it
I have seen the Mercedes but know little about he Audi. Both great brands, but mercedes lacks personality when it comes to style. Mercedes does not have the reputation it used to have due to constant nagging issues regarding electronics, cost of repair which is frequent. Cadillac and Lincoln are constantly taking it up a notch to grab more of the luxury sector and if they keep moving forward they will be on top as they were in the fifties and sixties. They have been trying to change their image for decades but seem to refuse to want to go that extras step, but these latest cars show they now want to take that extra step to compete and at the same time the price reflects that step. A luxury car always gains its reputation in the used car market. The new car market is just for show and image. But when a third owner of a car doesn't have to spend much time in a repair shop, that's where a car gains its reputation. As consumers we do not keep our vehicles as long as we used to so most first car owners do not deal with a lot of the issues used car owners deal with. Proof of this problem is in he price of a used Mercedes. Anyone buying a Mercedes better expect to give it away once they are finished with it. I can buy a used 7 - 10 year old Mercedes for less than 10% of its sale value. Why? Because they are unreliable and not engineered for long term reliability. These are facts. Mercedes has been riding the tail of an old reputation that is dying out fast.
if caddy stops building this car.. WITHOUT ONE IN THE SEGMENT TO TAKE ITS PLACE. IT WOULD BE A TRAGIC MISTAKE. THIS 2017 CT6 IS MY 7TH CADILLAC. IF I CANT SPEAK NO ONE CAN. KEEP BUILDING THIS CAR
"Zork Spingler's hifi wots" that cracked me up! Amazing car the CT6 is, such a shame I don't see many of them, I think a V-Series version would sell like hotcakes however, considering how many S6's and S63 AMG's I see all the time. If I could afford a CT6, I'd definitely get one. Cadillac has really stepped up their game in the past couple of years.
the ct6 is awd, and is getting average about 23 city/hiway...I don't call that terrible unless..we also have a fwd xts and its about 950 pds heavier, and it gets about 21 combined, so its probably the weight in the xts
I've owned a CT6 for year and while it's a nice looking sedan, unfortunately its build-quality issues and transmission performance are major negatives. Failed wheel bearing at 130 miles, mis-aligned body panels needing a body shop overhaul and a lurching, bucking, confused transmission that failed at 2,500 miles.
I can't afford this vehicle but if I had the money I would love to have one this vehicle looks great on the road everytime I see one I can only imagine how it performs it's too bad GM decided to kill this vehicle instead of staying with it and doing more marketing and refining it
I wish the plugin hybrid wasn't made in China. That's the biggest letdown for me. Second biggest is the fact the main powerplant in the plugin is a 4 cylinder. If they could supercharge and turbocharge that same engine just like Volvo does with their engines, that would be really fun.
Why no one talks about the windshield wipers? Can’t figure it out how to turn the back ones on,I am driving a loaner and it doesn’t have a manual 2017 ct6
I think it's unfair that you didn't even show the back seats of the Continental but you did for CT6. The Conti has been outselling the CT6. Comparing the G80 to the Conti it should have been the G90. You don't even mention the G80 against the CT6. GM bias
I don't see many of these on the road, my friend bought one and he regretted it, he had a lot of problems with electrics and they never really found the problem
Charles Damery what problems do you mean? Wow dieselgate but that's not an issue... but it's ok to be "patriotic" and get a local car, the Cadillac looks nice though
Where the hell is all this stupid protectionist coming from? This is Canada, not the US; are you guys following Trump's directive or something? That's not how the economy works. If you want to buy Japanese and German (and I'd certainly much rather get a BMW 5 Series or the new Lexus LS over this Cadillac), go for it. Canada will be fine.
You realize of course, that even though final assembly is done in Michigan there are Canadian made parts in both the Cadillacs and the Camaros assembled along them.
In Vancouver, BC right now: 2018 Cadillac CT6: Starts at $64, 000. 2018 BMW 7 Series: Starts at $163,000. What were you saying about "too expensive?" And who the hell really thinks a certain car is in "competition" with a car that is $100,000 higher in price?
having survived the 80's as a child, i have bad memories of being stranded by the side of the road with a dead chevy because they were built like junk... has anything gotten better since then?
Dear Friends!!!!! This is a very important message. Anyone who buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service, the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep your money safe.!!!👎👎👎👎👎😬👎😬👎👎
If we are not rich. Can us not rich ,people except reliability in 3 years when we can afford it . Lexis does this. Subaru does this now , Look s great I hope so
That interior is so nasty. Why can't Americans design a decent interior? Even the Koreans design better interiors these days, and they've only begun building cars like 40 years ago. Exterior styling is just barely ok, on par with some VWs but no where near current crop of European luxury cars. GM should just give up. It's hopeless.
I agree. People don't realize how expensive it is to manufacture large headlights. The longer the lights the more expensive it is, and the Escalade has over 9ft worth of lighting. And people wonder why it cost close to 100k.
I don't give into protectionist bullshit like that. I love Canada, but I don't see how buying Cadillac supports my country. I'd never buy a Cadillac, especially not when it's priced at the same price level or higher than German and Japanese cars. I don't know what the hell Cadillac was thinking, but I bet this car will not sell well.
I have a new Platinum CT6 and it is amazing. Turns heads and absolutely flies. Glad to see Cadillac elevating its car game.
JDubs585 any updates on the ct6 has it held up
I m from europe , and in love with this cadillac. I see bmw and audi all day everyday, and they became so boring. This looks so elegant.
I drove the g90, new 750i and s550 ( before the 560) and this ct6. Based on facts and common sense on pricing dynamics, my last 2 was the CT6 and G90. How's it going, 2 years in? Any trouble with any of the tech?
this simply blows away anything from Lincoln, Acura, Buick, Lexus, or Infiniti in terms of build quality, material quality, and tech. amazing!
However, that is Audi or Mercedes money, and it doesn't blow them away
Justin Bouche Not at all actually.
+Martin Bouche For that money, you're getting an E-Class or an A6, and this car is bigger than those.
Maestro_T but the E class has an better interior and it’s cheaper
I don't know where you live, but here in Ontario, the E-class starts only $700 less than the Cadillac, and I would bet anything it doesn't have as many standard features. The Lexus LS has a base price $33,000 higher than the the CT6, I'd hope it's better for that kind of price difference!

Very good looking in person, saw one the other day. Impressive.
Excellent job GM. Keep up the great work.

azaz911c Its selling quite well actually

if caddy stops building this car.. WITHOUT ONE IN THE SEGMENT TO TAKE ITS PLACE. IT WOULD BE A TRAGIC MISTAKE. THIS 2017 CT6 IS MY 7TH CADILLAC. IF I CANT SPEAK NO ONE CAN. KEEP BUILDING THIS CAR
Awesome reviews man. Very personable too.
Nice review, this guy is good !!!

I just bought my 2017 CTS V and love it
just got the ct6 premium luxury and love it....its so nimble w/ 4 wheel steering, and better gas miles that my prev caddy
Scott Walper my xts all wheel drive was terrible on gas
the ct6 is awd, and is getting average about 23 city/hiway...I don't call that terrible unless..we also have a fwd xts and its about 950 pds heavier, and it gets about 21 combined, so its probably the weight in the xts
Want one so bad, I keep going to the dealership to look at it!😩
I've owned a CT6 for year and while it's a nice looking sedan, unfortunately its build-quality issues and transmission performance are major negatives. Good Review! Have not seen any reviews on the Rear Entertainment seating/features until yours. Thanks for that!
Holy shit, reclining seats? Looks like a airplane inside.
Rear wheels turn too??? This has to be the most advanced car i've seen
i really want to buy this CT6 after this review :)))
Very good review! Thank you!
Damn......This car is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!
Way nicer than Lincoln.
The shifter looked almost normal. Is it? Or is it quirky?
Awesome video
I wish the plugin hybrid wasn't made in China. That's the biggest letdown for me. Second biggest is the fact the main powerplant in the plugin is a 4 cylinder. If they could supercharge and turbocharge that same engine just like Volvo does with their engines, that would be really fun.
Chinese cars are the worst in the world. Literally anything and everything made in China is the worst.
You're settling for worse cars than American cars. Chinese car companies steal other companies designs. You're indirectly supporting theft.
This car easily beats the German competition .just give it a chance.
i LOVE MY 2017
how to eject the blue ray disk and how to play on both screen. do you need two remote control?
Why no one talks about the windshield wipers? Can’t figure it out how to turn the back ones on,I am driving a loaner and it doesn’t have a manual 2017 ct6
Wait for the Super Cruise in this car.
what stock car from the factory has the same amount of horsepower as the length of the video? (1 minute=100 horsepower)
Wow nice car. I have had mercedes 560sl, bmw 330ci and a genesis g80. This is much nicer
An addition of a V8 engine option would spice things up.
This car let's it's self down with the interior and it's lack of a v8. Which is very weird to have only v6s on a full size Cadillac.
Did Panaray blow your mind?
Can you review the BMW 5 series?
How about the 34 speakers?
Hey is this 3.6 v6 the same engine GM has been using since 2010 on camaroes, commodores, cadillacs, et cetera
No, a new engine.
I think it's unfair that you didn't even show the back seats of the Continental but you did for CT6. The Conti has been outselling the CT6. Comparing the G80 to the Conti it should have been the G90. You don't even mention the G80 against the CT6. GM bias
Huh? Yes I did show the back seat.
see and admire
What kind of cars you have and I subscribe
I'm gonna buy this in 10-15 years, used, for $10k
I like mine
Review the amg gt(s,c,r)
I don't see many of these on the road, my friend bought one and he regretted it, he had a lot of problems with electrics and they never really found the problem
Zack, do you think you will get your hands on the new Jeep Compas?
+Oceanic Flight when it comes in
Are they being built yet?
I believe so
I'm surprised you didn't mention the inferior plastics on the door panels.
Shut your mouth you stupid fucking scrub
Small Cadillac crest? Its huge like most other car brands, Mercedes being the worst offender.
Ray Donovan traded in a Mercedes-Benz CLS for this car
At this price you can get an A6/7 or a 6 series if you're careful with the options. should be $10k cheaper if they want to sell
But some people want to buy North American and with the problems that the VW Group has had, they'd rather it their money at home.
Charles Damery what problems do you mean? Wow dieselgate but that's not an issue... but it's ok to be "patriotic" and get a local car, the Cadillac looks nice though

is the Audi front drive? Isnt that a no, no too?
It's to expensive, does cadillac actually think it can compete with a 7 series?
In Vancouver, BC right now: 2018 Cadillac CT6: Starts at $64, 000. 2018 BMW 7 Series: Starts at $163,000. What were you saying about "too expensive?" And who the hell really thinks a certain car is in "competition" with a car that is $100,000 higher in price?
so u get cars for only one week!?!? wow thats way too short to know about the car.
2 v6 engines? twin v6 engines? huh
having survived the 80's as a child, i have bad memories of being stranded by the side of the road with a dead chevy because they were built like junk... has anything gotten better since then?
Cadillac car Back said lights. Jaguar xj car copy
The furniture looked too plush
weeeeeeeeeeeee

100 grand Bhahaha
lol...for $100k you could easily get the new 5 series BMW or even the upcoming Lexus LX. wtf was cadillac thinking? 😂
NeutralGenericUser Support your own country, not Germany or Japan. Cadillac is a very underrated car these days.
I don't give into protectionist bullshit like that. I love Canada, but I don't see how buying Cadillac supports my country. Zachary Barker Canadians should have no loyalty to buy American cars.... they are imports just like bmw and Mercedes
General Motors has given Canadians thousands of jobs at manufacturing plants.
So have Honda, Toyota/Lexus, and others...
LOL 100k for American car? No thanks
