Frankly, I wasn't expecting anything from this film. As a fan of Bob Marley and Amy Winehouse, I know they'd both have hated being the main characters in a feature film. (Especially fictional ). I've just watched Black to Black and it's true that the film is cinematographically boring. Anyway it's really basic and at first I was angry knowing what I thought they weren't using Amy's real voice (for a rights issue and that it was lame) : but now that I've come to understand that the actress actually sings and re-recorded the songs in the studio. I think that's why her performance is so great! The film, worth seeing because she sings and because she stands out in a really more than average film! Once again, it all rests on the actors' shoulders, and in the end, I'm making amends for my negative preconceptions, which haven't really changed, but as far as the singing goes, it's just magnificent. 🙂

I just can’t get past the fact she looks nothing like Amy, obviously it’s a movie but usually they TRY to make them look somewhat similar. When I see her all dolled up in Amy’s iconic eye makeup and big hair, it just looks like a bad Halloween costume.
There aren't any actors currently that look like Amy and using a prosthetic nose would just be offensive to us Jews. It is what it is. Who knows, maybe in the future another movie will be made with potential AI technology used to create a more accurate Amy.
Same with me but I still want to see this. I think Lady Gaga should have played her

@@rcperry2000 Lady Gaga is far too old to play Amy, plus she's Italian-American. Amy was a UK Jew, it's easier to play parts you have more personal experience with. She has a lot of respect for Amy so I don't think she would even accept the roll. I really don't want to go to see this movie but it's pulling me in like a magnet.
