Hey shulkercraft it would be nice if you included an explanation of the redstone circuitry at the end of these tutorials because I want to understand how the redstone in these work
@@carabondish several of his videos are designs from people who don't really make block by block tutorials. He can probably understands them quite well himself to recreate them. Most aren't anything overly complicated anyway
The items are funnelled through hoppers leading to chests, and when the chests are full of items, only items that can stack into the items already in the chests are able to sort into the chests. All the other items are funneled through to the next chest where they are checked again to see if they can go into the chest. All the items that are not able to get sorted are sent into the last chest
The nice thing about this sorter is that you can sort many items with one chest and you can nicely arrange the initial items to have a nicely sorted chest that is not messy. Definitely gonna switch to this sorter.
I mean, there is Gnembon's design which allows for more compact chest placement. More complicated but much more compact. And that one is almost 4 years old.

@@arivat2640 they fill so fast, i have put 12 chests in my gold farm and they filled so fast then broke the sorter (still don't have a good enough fuel farm), they take so much space
really good sorting system if you're starting a new world or don't want to bother with complex ones, it's easy to build / expand, cheap. Tho the chests arranged like that can take a lot of space quickly if you're having trouble with the items skipping chests it's because the redstone signal is coming too fast, make sure you set the repeaters on the correct amount of ticks. I built it on a solo world and multiplayer server and it worked on both (java 1.19.2)

@@eliaswagner1312 i think that would take ages. More time, than the slab thing, because for the perimeter You need To cover every Source of water/lava, and in the nether, it would be hard. Not undoable, but kinda hard. 😅
Amazing this also work bedrock !! Just replace note block with dispenser because for some reason note block can't able to get a redstone signal with stone block but it work I build it in bedrock thanks👍
You could possibly make the machine higher and add hoppers leading to lower chests under those he uses for the machine to also be able to store items in those. You might need to make some modifications based on multiple things though.
this is still so great - I use this for items coming from a shulker unloader and running through 15 standart-sorters (for items with huge amounts) first. I´ve done 6 chest instead of three - and this double (again the whole system with 6 chest on the next wall 90° angel) -> works very well 1.20.6 Java

Hey. I love this design but everything is getting stuck in the first dropper on mine. Any idea what it might be. I’ve reconstructed it a few times with no luck.
Same problem. I added 2 more redstone dust around the corner connecting to the 2 dust one off the observer. I am on bedrock edition so maybe that had to do with it.
@@GWSander Have you set the repeater delays to the correct amounts? Also make sure they are all oriented the correct way. Is the observer facing the correct way around? I can't think of any reason it wouldn't work in Bedrock.
@@GWSander Actually... for Bedrock you need to replace the note block with a dropper. Blocky Bryson (linked in description) mentioned this in his comments
I'm confused. It seems like you could do all of this with a little bit of water and some hoppers. I don't see how you're actually sorting anything because you've already filled the chests. With a real item sorter you can empty those chests and come back later, dump stuff in your main chest and the items will automatically go to their correct chests.
The mega-warehouse design you did before is better. With this design you have to manually fill in the slots after you take your items out. It only takes a few seconds but still, it's manual work.

Brilliant. I've been trying to find a tutorial of this exact thing when you can't afford hundreds of hoppers to sort everything into separate chests!

I think you need to do a multi item sorter tutorial but for the more intermediate/advance players who will have the resources for something bigger

Iron farms only make 2 items, you could easily get by with 1 ImpulseSV sorter which is the simplest and most used item sorter.

Would this design work on bedrock? As an item sorter this small would be good for my flower farm, and wool farm.

The pattern won't matter at all! Make any shape you want. The most important thing is that none of the slots are empty.
