I'm never gonna ever be able to pay Demi back for all the positivity and love and joy she's brought into my life. Demi, your music, your performances, your quotes, your tweets, everything about you made me fall in love with you. She saved me. I was bullied because I'm gay. I started to cut myself. I found my dvd of camp rock and here I fell in love with her wonderful voice, her acting... now I need to say to her... thank you for everything... now I believe in me... and I gotta to say to the boy that bulling me, OKAY, I'm gay, but what's the problem? this is not your business with who I sleep.

I was in rehab recently for cutting and self harm but demi was able to do something that no one else was able to do she saved me and I wish that in can see her and meet her in person so I can thank her and I really love her and I'm crying just typing this now

Like if you are watching this in October 2017 after watching her latest documentary and finding out that she was still doing coke and not recovering from alcohol, drugs, or bulimia in this video or in the entire year of 2011 when she was preaching positivity and sobriety. Crazy what you don't know about people you don't know...

Matilda Sullivan drug addiction is a horrible thing. Demi was preaching about a life she didn’t want to live most likely. Just because you preach about sobriety and addiction doesn’t mean one is clean themselves. Even though I have not touched drugs since February, I still call myself an addict. I think about using every day. I got to the point where I was doing lines in class, in the bathrooms, popping pills constantly, drinking every night, and smoking pot every day. I was constantly high. It was expensive. So I had picked up a second job.
Matilda Sullivan No one knew I had a problem until someone had told the school counselor they were concerned for me. I went home after work, and my parents drug tested me. It was my first ever drug test, and I was trying to bribe my sister to pee for me. She wouldn’t and told me I was pathetic. I failed for cocaine, and was already experiencing withdrawal symptoms. I tried to convince my mother that it was negative and I guess it worked, but it was hard to hide the withdrawal. I did everything I could to stay away from my family for a little over a week. It got around the school about my drug use and I was dubbed the biggest druggie at school. All of my teachers knew and they constantly watched me. The day after someone told the counselor of my drug use, they called the DEA in for a one on one meeting with me, and an all school assembly. Which they kind of spoke about me anonymously, but everyone knew it was me. Addiction is hell.

what makes me smile a lot is how at the end she says, "what you don't know is what's about to happen next." because, no, we didn't, and neither did she, and now she's healthy, happy, and has since performed twice at the grammys, and she just made a snapchat, and released two more albums, and it makes me think about how as hard as things are, nobody knows what will happen next in their own life, you know? maybe in four years, things will be so much more beautiful. I bet they will

i love this female so much she has bought me so much hope in the last ten years i have been struggling with depression and bipolar. it started at the young age of 9 and i have been slowly getting better. demi doesnt know me but she has helped me much more then any of my family members thats for sure

The kicker is... see how good she lied? Everyone believed her. She was still using. She just got her 6 years clean not long ago. This was 2011.
Addicts are good liars. But once an addict sees their bullshit and not only stays clean but is in RECOVERY, then that’s when they start being honest.
I can vouch for this too because I am an addict. A recovering one. I don’t have 6 years like this girlie but hey, some day I’ll get there. She is beautiful and she deserves all the amazing things she has right now.
Any addict still using and suffering ; please get clean, go to AA or NA, get RECOVERY. anyone can stay abstinent for a period of time, the only way you change habits and become happy is learning about recovery. Get strong and be strong everyone ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I remember when this came out, it's so nostalgic even though she was still struggling with herself she never stopped caring and helping other people.
The fact that she's only two years older than I am (20, almost 21) and it feels like she's at least 10 years ahead of me says so much. It's awesome to Beable to have a role model to look up to who is around my age and I can relate to. Ever since I was 16 I have been a die hard lovatic. Watching her story and listening to her music has literally saved my life at times. And thanks to her she has paved a way for more celebrities to come out with their struggles and to be more open. Thank you Demi Lovato for sharing your story, and putting out music that the radio may not like, but the fans can relate to. You're more amazing than you know 💕💕💕
