I'm a die hard demi family, but an even bigger die hard music fan and I haven't ever heard someone sing like.she sang that part at 1:09. I kid you not I've replayed that part over a hundred times and each time it blows my mind, I can't believe how angelic she sounded especially in that part. And than the way the camera moved, and the wind brushed her bangs out of her face when she sang that part, everything about that part is amazing. I think the key is too high for her. She's obviously straining her voice and her vibrato is way off. Very evident on the word "FREE". She's trying to fake a vibrato using her throat, but comes off very odd. She's basically not a very good singer, period.

The reason is that she's famous, and you don't necessarily need to be a good singer to be famous. And talking about X-Factor, why don't you go and have a look at her flop performance there where she humiliated herself in front of the contestants she had been criticizing.

seriously this is amazing. for all you tone deaf people out there (coming from a professional singer's point of view,) this was a fantastic rendition of the national anthem. she has a nice tone quality and incredible range. her pitch was on point. if this isn't your cup of tea, perhaps you are very bland and plain jane about things, go listen to any of her other performances. perhaps a stripped down version of skyscraper (the one she did on the ellen show was beautiful and shows off her perfect pitch, powerful tone, and incredible range fantastically.) or maybe even a clip of her best live vocals. her covers of stay from the kiss 108 concert is fantastic. lot's of people are saying she can't sing but this girl has PIPES! she is just incredible and if she wasn't she wouldn't be here. her voice is almost always on pitch and overall incredible. she is fantastic. for anyone saying she isn't, you need to listen to some other performances because she is quite simply, amazing.
Just because one person on the x factor told Demi they don't use autotune while she does doesn't mean she uses it while live or whatever some people think. Every artist uses some sort of auto tune on an album doesnt mean they use it live. Demi lovato has pure natural born talent and she uses it every concert, performance, etc. She is the definition of an excellent,excelling artist and this performance clearly proves it.
