I would recommend that you have one bike facing the right and the other to the left to prevent the handlebars from hitting or rubbing against each other. I wish they had locking bbars to go around the tires instead of ratchet straps. I like the locking bars like on the 1 up bike racks.
We have the same rack, and it is the best of the best. We were told to use a torque wrench to tighten down ALL the bolts on the rack, and there is absolutely no movement there at all. We also tighten the wheel straps very tight, and use a locking pin in the receiver hole, torqued down, to make sure the rack is locked to the vehicle. Then we lock all the locks and add a cable lock to snake through the bikes, rack, and receiver so we can take it with us when we go riding and want to go to a store or somewhere. Of course, it takes FOREVER to put them on and off, but we sleep better at night! Enjoy! We think our rack is excellent and hope you do, too!
We totally love this rack! It has been a lifesaver for our bikes. The only problem we have had is that the back end of our RV is low. We had to put an extender on it to raise it up. We have had some problem with wiggle in that. But we think we've got that figured out. The bike cover is awesome as well. We have the locks as well. But so far one of us just stays out with them. I have been looking for this exact brand/model for a couple of months now they are all sold out everywhere. They’re not even sure when this product will be available on the market again. Hollywood rack is $100 more and also out of stock chances is etrailer might have it by this month. Plus each rack can carry up to 80 lbs and up to 5” wide tires. Great vid guys 👍🏼
I think we had to wait a month to 6 weeks for hours too. The deal is e-bike sales have just shot out the roof. Everyone is wanting this type of stuff. It is worth the wait in the stability that it offers to transport them. Thanks for watching!

Liked that ebike rack, but the extra cost for the fat tire cradle turns me off.....got the Hyperax from amazon with a $100 coupon and RV rated with 70 lbs/ebike.
I have a the same Lectric Bike referenced in this video. Would the Hypervax require purchasing the stabilizer bar for them to lock to ? The Swagman does not appear to need it. Could that be another offset in price ?
I purchased an E-spec from automotivestuff. The website said allow 1-2 days for a tracking #. Great it's in stock NOPE. Then I got an email saying that my order could not be processed unless I confirm the order and agree to a 40-45 day shipping. I'm in Michigan so sure I agreed. Then I got another email saying that they contacted the manufacturer and it would not ship for 75-80 days. Noway I'm not waiting until June to enjoy our Lectric bikes. I requested an immediate refund. No response from email or the "where's my refund page". The phone number allows you to talk to someone IF you want to buy something. NOT if you want a refund. Shameful!!!
I'm so sorry you're having these troubles and I don't blame you at all for being frustrated. You may want to just call the number for ordering and tell them your trouble and ask them for a different number if they can't help you. We used e-trailer when we bought ours and it took 6 or 8 weeks to come in. That being said, this was before the pandemic interrupted all the supply chains. Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not, but we've had a lot of trouble getting other things currently. I don't blame you at all for canceling your order. Hopefully you can get it worked out soon and I'm so sorry. Wish we knew someone at that company who could help you. Please keep us posted on how it goes. We would really like know.
Nice demonstration! I've held off on buying my bike because I want to figure some of the rack logistics out first. Have you explored any possibilities for a ramp? How could Lynn load them herself? Glad to see it working so well with a low-step!
Good morning Rebecca. We have not explored the possibility of a ramp. Danny does fine with putting them on. I can't lift them by myself. I have never had a lot of arm strenth. I need to be lifting weights. Lol. But we do love the bikes and are getting a lot of use out of them. Both the bikes and the racks are taking a bit to get in now. Won't do be any good to have them and not be able to use them :-) I've actually started lifting weights lol But even in the video, Danny had a buddy help him. Though I'm likely to go with a Pedego, I'll be interested to look at your Rad vs Lectric. Rad mini is the bike that appears in YTs going places I'm most interested in going but they are flooding influencers with free bikes and I think that's impacting videos. I'm leaning toward a Pedego.

Also, if you are only getting 1 bike you would not need the heavy duty rack that we need. Our bikes weigh 62lbs each. That's a lot. Also they do fold. This is great when we want to transport them in our vehicle. Let me know what you end up with. We watched a lot of videos. I agree with you, they do give a lot of them to influencers. We aren't there yet. Lol

Hi. Thanks for the video. I just assembled this same rack. Seems very sturdy. Since I am hitching it to an RV I used the included RV hardware to replace the removable pin on the rack. This appears to keep the rack from swiveling up when I have no bikes on it. Have I missed something, or is that just the way it is?. Thanks again.
We loved it the whole time we used it. We recently bought a tow car and the back end of it is big enough for both bikes to fold together and fit into it. Therefore, we're not currently using it. It really is a great rack, and we highly recommend it. Thanks so much for watching.
Swagman actually sells a bag that you completely wrap the bikes up in and then zip it up. It has ties on it so you can tie it so it's not loose. It seems to work pretty good. We haven't had any trouble with ours getting wet. That being said, we try to watch and when we've been in rain make sure the water isn't pulling on top of the bag somewhere. Great comment! 😊

We actually bought a cover from the swagman company that is made for the ebikes. It completely zips around them and should protect them from all the bad weather. We just haven't used it yet. I'll try to take a picture and post it on our community page when we head out on our next trip. That will be the first time we'll use it.

Why the hell would you carry folding ebikes on the back when you can just fold em up, place each one in a large bin and carry them inside the trailer??? I sold my old ebikes to get folding ones just for that reason.
They take up too much room to carry them on the inside. You wouldn't be able to walk in the rv. Since this video, we have a tow car, and we now fold them up and put them in the car. That works.great. Thanks for watching. 😀
It all depends on your bike. Ebiles are heavy. You have to have a rack that will support it without breaking. We aren't selling this one. It just works really well with the bike we have. So, can you lift your ebike up onto the rack by yourself? Looking to get something like this, but since I am a frequent solo traveler, I will have to do this by myself.
Our bikes even without the batteries are 55 lb. I, lynn, cannot lift them by myself. Danny has no problem lifting them. Not for sure how much your bike weighs or how much you're used to lifting. I will say I could lift a lot more in my younger days than I can now. So I'm not sure if this will be a solution to you or not. Let us know if you have any more questions, we are glad to answer them. Good morning Rebecca. We have not explored the possibility of a ramp. Danny does fine with putting them on. I can't lift them by myself. I have never had a lot of arm strenth. I need to be lifting weights. Lol. But we do love the bikes and are getting a lot of use out of them. Both the bikes and the racks are taking a bit to get in now. Won't do be any good to have them and not be able to use them :-) I've actually started lifting weights lol But even in the video, Danny had a buddy help him. Though I'm likely to go with a Pedego, I'll be interested to look at your Rad vs Lectric. Rad mini is the bike that appears in YTs going places I'm most interested in going but they are flooding influencers with free bikes and I think that's impacting videos. I'm leaning toward a Pedego.
@@rebeccaoliver7977 go with the one that best suits you. Once the rack is on you don't have to take it back off. Also, if you are only getting 1 bike you would not need the heavy duty rack that we need. Our bikes weigh 62lbs each. That's a lot. Also they do fold. This is great when we want to transport them in our vehicle. Let me know what you end up with. We watched a lot of videos. I agree with you, they do give a lot of them to influencers. We aren't there yet. Lol
Interesting to see how going a year with out a second vehicle will be.

How has the eBike electric components held up to rain and exposure to the elements?
Pretty good. I will say that we have kept them covered while traveling. Since this video, we have purchased a tow car and now carry them in the back of the car. It is easier and faster since we don't have to store them. Thanks for watching. Have a merry Christmas. 🎅🌲🎄
Hi. Thanks for the video. I just assembled this same rack. Seems very sturdy. Since I am hitching it to an RV I used the included RV hardware to replace the removable pin on the rack. This appears to keep the rack from swiveling up when I have no bikes on it. Have I missed something, or is that just the way it is?. Thanks again.
That's exactly how my worked.
Very nice bike carrier but with this system, bikes would be gone in minutes in San Francisco. Two of our bikes got stolen in no time.
I'm so sorry. We do have a bike cover that we always use. They are also locked with 3 separate locks. We hope this will keep people honest.

We loved it the whole time we used it. We recently bought a tow car and the back end of it is big enough for both bikes to fold together and fit into it. Therefore, we're not currently using it. It really is a great rack, and we highly recommend it. Thanks so much for watching.
How do you protect the bikes from the elements when driving - the rain, water, rocks, etc that get thrown up?
Swagman actually sells a bag that you completely wrap the bikes up in and then zip it up. It has ties on it so you can tie it so it's not loose. It seems to work pretty good. We haven't had any trouble with ours getting wet. That being said, we try to watch and when we've been in rain make sure the water isn't pulling on top of the bag somewhere. Great comment! 😊

We actually bought a cover from the swagman company that is made for the ebikes. It completely zips around them and should protect them from all the bad weather. We just haven't used it yet. I'll try to take a picture and post it on our community page when we head out on our next trip. That will be the first time we'll use it.

Why the hell would you carry folding ebikes on the back when you can just fold em up, place each one in a large bin and carry them inside the trailer??? I sold my old ebikes to get folding ones just for that reason.
They take up too much room to carry them on the inside. You wouldn't be able to walk in the rv. Since this video, we have a tow car, and we now fold them up and put them in the car. That works.great. Thanks for watching. 😀

Wow I just watched 4 other videos and they all said that their bike rack was the best now I’m really confused.
It all depends on your bike. Ebiles are heavy. You have to have a rack that will support it without breaking. We aren't selling this one. It just works really well with the bike we have. So, can you lift your ebike up onto the rack by yourself? Looking to get something like this, but since I am a frequent solo traveler, I will have to do this by myself.
Our bikes even without the batteries are 55 lb. I, lynn, cannot lift them by myself. Danny has no problem lifting them. Not for sure how much your bike weighs or how much you're used to lifting. I will say I could lift a lot more in my younger days than I can now. So I'm not sure if this will be a solution to you or not. Let us know if you have any more questions, we are glad to answer them.
