    I don't understand why the storage can't be bigger, it is much bigger on the xmax 300; also why no automatic windscreen and cruise control?

    so i test drive it and decided to get it. it’s the exact same model as this one. there’s a difference between the xmax and this. the BMW is obviously more refined and has a much smoother ride, the tft is very nice but the xmax has a nice dash cluster too. i haven’t been beyond the break in period yet but the motor does seem smoother and the exhaust is much nicer. its an expensive bike but overall the quality is exceptional. the headlights are incredibly bright at night, the xmax actually had pretty poor headlights and wasn’t nearly comparable in terms of night riding visibility. the leg room is also a huge selling point, very relaxed riding position. i agree about cost of ownership but maintenance can mostly be done by the owner if they have some knowledge, experience and tools. i believe a gs911 obd is in the works for this model. it’s a high end machine that has very smooth road manners.

      How is the engine vibrations during highway speeds?
      Does it run 120 km/h no problem without vibrations?
      I wonder of their previous 650 version i have tried were better or not?

    I own one since a year and use it for commuting. Cost of ownership is extremely high at least here in Europe, My last 20000km maintenance cost was 1100€! Other than that fun to drive but nog worth the price.

      What did you change and after 20k is the acceleration still as smooth? Or is it jerky? I used to own a Kymco downtown 200 and it’s jerky after few miles. What about normal oil change servicing? How much does it cost? Thought of owning one

      Nothing bmw sells is worth the price after warranty is up if it’s not a M model. Key with these is to do work yourself but bmw thought about it by installing software that only dealer can access to reset.

    Great review. I'm 6ft4, and BMW scooters are the only scooters I ride.

      @@chrisw4215xmax 300 is smaller, i am 198cm (6ft6) and on Xmax my legs are on the way of the handlebars when turning. On BMW I have a lot of room between. Also the stretched leg position, for me it was useless on Xmax, couldnt do it at all, and on BMW I found it nice.

      @@RaAlby I simply love scooters but unfortunately sold my xmax300. scooters are probably not for me due to the body position when you ride on them. all road imperfections end up on my lower back and can't ride for too long. maybe BMW is better but cant check it

    update: 2 months into owning the 2022 it’s already in the shop for repairs… a warranty is meaningless when parts and quality are nonexistent. i’m hopeful that yours “if you own one” hasn’t started leaking oil. look underneath the CVT and see if there’s oil collecting, if so, there’s a build / quality issue. these are very very expensive and too have it usable for only a few weeks seems pretty poor. BMW BMW has seriously let me personally down and i currently regret the bike. the hondas and yamahas never presented issues like this. today while still in the shop waiting for parts i’m going to return the bike for what i’m used…. something that is japanese, it may not have the BMW badge, but what does that mean when it’s a 10,000 paper weight.

      @Ukrainianification Před rokem +1

      Totally agree with you. Tmax may not have as many bells and whistles but it will start every time. Bmw is nice when everything works which is not often. I’m going back to Japanese bikes as well.

      Unfortunately, this scooter is built in china. I’m still considering one,
      But knowing it is Chinese built has me skeptical…

    Scooters are just top heavy, and there’s no low center of gravity. And the wheels are way, way too small if you couldn’t avoid a big and or deep pot hole; it will destroy you and the bike.
