Saddest of all to me was the realization that Fontaine had been cloned for so long and so often he had no memory of his mother's death. It had been wiped during his reprogramming to maintain the illusion.
His mum had been dead for a long time before Fontaine prob existed in Glen since old original fountaine was an old man, mum would have died a while ago

@@IndomitableAde original Fontaine allowed him to have that memory, only without him seeing his bloodied corpse. That's one thing that he wanted all of them to have.
@@overdrive7349 yes, and I was speaking on his mother's death, not his brother's. He obviously had no memory of it or he wouldn't have been interacting with a speaker behind a door that stayed closed.
This movie is so under rated it's almost criminal. The way it's shot, the story, how original everything is. The way they blur what year it's set in with mixes of both old, new and missing technology and designs and styles from different decades all mixed together, the acting is fantastic, it's funny as hell.
Legit one of the best films from all of last year, I wish more people saw it.

One of the greats of 2023 no doubt. Had me looking at life differently.
I also think this movie reminds me of Undercover Brother. It's like a grittier version, especially with the chicken. This was so trippy and funny but also piques all the conspiracy theories. Glad I went in blind when it came out.
I know others have said it, but I would love to see this group watch The Blackening!
This movie was such a treat. The main trio have great chemistry!
The crazy thing about the mom situation was that it's very clear they never expected him to live long considering the limited amount of responses

I don't think it's an accident that the entire movie the viewer is left asking themselves, Who TF is Tyrone?
Tyrone is someone in the "real world" watching this story from home, when he suddenly realizes.... He's been cloned.
The entire movie draws parallels to our society today. The majority of us are subconsciously yet significantly influenced by external factors (cultural expectations/ trends/marketing/ etc.) and "act" accordingly.
How would we behave if we suddenly woke up and realized, WE are the clones. That random dude in the real world watching this from his living room, realizing that he's not that unique and doesn't have as much control over his own life as he thought. Realizing there's bigger forces at play here.
I think Jules Taylor is trying to "wake up" the viewer with "Who Cloned Tyrone" especially African-American men.
That makes more sense to me than the idea that he titled the entire movie after a small Easter egg hinting at a sequel at the very end of the movie."

This movie caught me off guard. It is great, well-written, and directed. Jamie Foxx was great. Another great movie to watch is The Harder They Fall. It's great.

I remember when this movie came out on Netflix, no one was talking about it! I loved it so much and wish more people see it. I honestly hope we see a sequel to it but I know that won't happen =(

it’s hard to tell what year it is because they have the power to keep certain parts of the country from advancing.
I think that’s part of the theme. They seem stuck in place as their community is influence to crabs in a bucket mixed with people outside keeping them in.
@@nichescenesright. meaning it’s by design. I think crabs in a barrel is birthed out of that design. I’m also saying you see how outside forces keeps certain places behind. you see schools now with 10 computers with 1,000 kids. other schools assign tablets/laptops for every student

Yeah, as a 6'6" black guy, I have to be very mindful of how I interact in public. The amount of times people thought I was "scary" until they talked to me is a lot. I really enjoyed this movie when I saw it. There's a lot of inside baseball jokes I had to explain to my white friends. 😆

Such a slept on movie
For sadly obvious reasons
Consider this: there is a clone of you wandering about committing all kinds of crimes. "The powers that be" kill the clone, and you (the genuine person) are now wanted for arrest. It makes you think about persons who have been arrested for a crime yet claim to be innocent.
I'm telling you this movie made me so mad. They put everything in perspective. Especially the instructional music. There's a lot of songs that have instructions in them. And that's besides all the dance songs that tell you to do them. Then you have the chicken crazes like Popeye's. There was also Church's Chicken that had larger than normal chicken. And our churches that mostly try to tell you that your life is a part of a plan and will be okay so be docile. I'm really surprised they didn't try to stop this movie from being made (maybe why only on Netflix).

You have to also listen to the end song. It's not the original live version of "Call Tyrone," it's the original audience audio but Erykah changed the lyrics to reflect the movie.

If you guys haven't reacted to "Sorry to Bother You" with LaKeith Stanfield, I highly recommend it. It's another black surrealism movie that really tripped me up.

Two of the most educational (but difficult to watch) movies I've seen are "The Hollywood Shuffle" and "Bamboozled" the latter is a Spike Lee Joint. Incredibly difficult to watch, but something everyone should see at least once. They would be wild to see y'all react to.

The movie supposed to happen in something between 90-00's, but since we see the world in Fontaine eyes, and his memories were upload from his old self (wich is now old) it will explain the amount of old things like the computer, because reality and uploaded memories are all mixed up. Thats why Yo-Yo was talking about the blockchain and bitcoin, since she was not a clon she was living on the "real world".

Showed this to people no trailer. They thought the jamifox stuff was funny but got mad when the rest of the story happened lol. It’s a smart movie sold as silly while being satire and sci-fi etc hitting demos that are less normie more into large demographics of film and who like high concept stuff.

This movie was great, pretty scary to think about. It reminded me of Cabin In the Woods and Us, bc of the underground and the gov’t controlling things. And I swear that chicken place with drugs in the chicken, that’s Chick-fil-a! People love Chick-fil-a and there are always long lines at every one of them, just waiting for sub par chicken.
