Yellow: Cooling (AC)
Green: Fan

I have used superglue on cuts for the past 20 years. I’ve figured I’ve saved myself thousands of dollars in stitches.
This dude should write for the" for dummies" books I watch all his videos for a/c makes everything simple and understandable with all needed detail to eliminate second guessing your understanding of topic. Truley gifted teacher
You are an excellent teacher and video producer. You don't skip over details and you explain what you are doing well. HVAC schools need instructors of your caliber.
In that the truth. Have seen many make senerios Jay has explained very confusing, or they over explain when we haven't been fully introduced to the thermostat wiring to control board etc.
You saved me a $300 HVAC Tech charge... Wired my new Thermostat and troubleshoot/replace the condenser capacitor. Clear and Concise. THANKS ! 👍👍👍
Jay in this video and the complete wiring for the condenser unit video , has given me a much better understanding of the thermostat to control board , and then control board to other contactor coils and relay coils that pull in plungers to allow the higher voltage go through to the respectable meters as to what they do. He did an excellent illustration of the complete condenser/outside unit , where now the other part falls into place better. Also really clear how he did the wiring of thermostat to control board and the two wires from control board to the side of contactor for the condenser/outside unit. Jay would definitely be a great instructor in HVAC, really appreciate and enjoy his videos on this stuff!
Dis dude better than my hvac professor.
Of course this dude is better then I HVAC Professor. What professor teaches and this guy actually does it big difference just because you can teach someone how to fix computer doesn't mean that you actually know how to fix it how to fix computers that I can easily teach someone how to fix it just because I can teach someone how to fix a computer I know how to fix it big difference
No cap
This dude Is my HVAC professor lol

I am a technician and I learn more from your CZcams than school. Thank you for your lesson.
Wow. You saved me time, money and effort. You are the ONLY video that describes both sides: the thermostat and the A/C board connections. Your sample display made it so easy to understand. Thank you for your expertise and ingenuity. I am a grateful DIY home owner.
I most humble myself and say yes a lot of times you’ve helped me and my father as well and I actually committed on some work am doing on his furnace now and I need to swap out the furnace thermostat but you’ve made it easier to understand because I went for a electric trade but never benefited from the learning but am now seeing the benefits of the knowledge joining it together to repair mishaps at my Father’s house but thank you for passing it forward.
He's the man.... No fumbling around with jargon that makes people feel inferior or like they need years of schooling before grasping these basic concepts. Straight to the point- and gotta 'each-one teach-one' attitude about it all. Not stingy with his knowledge whatsoever. Love it.
Hey man what you just said is probably one of the best things I’ve heard because a lot of this industry tries to make things way more complicated for no reason to make themselves feel good while it’s not the most easy thing in the world to do it’s certainly not as complicated as people try to make it
@@keithshaw9314 Y'all both expressed what I've felt since getting into the trade a couple years ago. I've heard, "those that can't do, teach." I think it works the same the other way around. Met a lot of people who are skilled in the trades that simply can't explain or properly train, but somehow are in leadership positions. I don't get it...

My old wires to furnace was old 3 wires cable, and since my old thermostat broke from battery leaking, i bought a new thermostat from gas utility company since they offered me big huge energy saving credit of $50. Fancy wifi controlled thermostat for just $19 after the credit. However, what I didn't know, it doesn't work with old 3 wire cable. I needed to install 5 wires cable. I had no idea how to do it, but after watched your instruction. Yaa, I managed to snake a new cable I bought from Home Depot, and was able to connect property in furnace. Thans a lot.
Thanks so much!! We're landlords, and we can now diagnose hvac issues and fix most problems ourselves, thanks to your easy to understand videos. This saves us money, and saves our tenants many hot days and cold nights waiting for a repairman.
After watching your video, I was able to correct the wiring of the thermostat and control board. Now my HVAC is working again. You are the man!!!!!!
This video is really helpfull. I'm studying hvac and 2 weeks ago I learned how to wire a thermostat. Thanks for share all your knowledges and I hope some day being a good hvac technician in USA 🇺🇸. I really love this profession.
Hello J.
My family and I are so grateful for all you do passing on your knowledge. You really helped us out in this recent cold spell. Word of Advice is most definitely one of the best HVAC channels on CZcams.
of all the vids I watched on how the board should be wired, this one demonstration is worth quite a lot since he has his displays... excellent diction... easy to fool... right on!
THANK YOU!! Remodeled hallway this winter, installed new thermostat, old one must have ran heat & cool from one wire. Installed jumper and boom! Thanks again!!!
Thank you very much for this good video appreciate your time and knowledge. Wanted to ask you or if anyone can help, was going to extend the cable and move the thermostat, when I went to purchase thermostat wire, there were many different sizes, how can I know what size is the right size for my thermostat. Thanks again.
Thank you very much for this video. I cleaned my blower and accidently yanked off one of the contactor wires. This video helped get everything back and running. Thanks again you are awesome!!!
great job! You are the only person I've see that explained the RC is for power to cooling and RH is power to heating. Very nice details.
You’re a lifesaver bro! I mixed my wires up and you saved the day!
I will say, I know nothing about how an air conditioner works. But you did an amazing job of explaining it and I was able to understand.
Thanks for this video! After messing around with my new AC install for a few days, getting some inaccurate advice, your video set me straight. Great explanation!
The way you explained things, you’re made it very easy to understand. I wish you were my instructor.😊
Great video showing explicity the wiring among the thermostat, hvac board and the condenser. No other video I saw shows that detail. Tx.
Glad you liked the video! Thank you for commenting!
Thanks for this particular video. You literally saved me several hundred dollars. After studying this video I was able to complete this replacement DIY.
DUDE!!!! YOU ARE A LIFESAVER. WIRED UP THE NEW THERMOSTAT AND THE HEATER IS WORKING!!!! THANKS!!!
Okay I never comment on videos but I stumbled across this while looking up a DIY project and this guy is amazing!! Really well put together.
Real helpful video. I am studying HVAC. And learning how to connect T-Stats, transformers , relays and fans. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Video was simple yet very understanding and played out perfectly. Keep it up
I like how you take your time and explain how everything works!!!
You made my life so much easier. Thanks for explaining it so simply.
Yes on the CA glue. It works like a charm on sealing up cuts.
I like your videos. They're informative without a bunch of elementary bs I find on other how to channels.
Wonderful! I just got my air conditioning up and running again per your instructions...thanks a million!
You save my life 😢we are under the renovation and the thermostat dropped off and the red wire was got out, we don’t have heat until I found your post 😂 thank you so much sir😊
I worked as an instrument tech for 20 years in a chemical factory. Lots of opportunities to get nicked and cut.
Used superglue all the time to make skin repairs.
Also is great for wintertime skin cracking. The pain is almost always immediately relieved and the glue helps you heal quicker.
Thanks a lot for your videos. I’m new to my hvac career and you explain these clearly to me .
I absolutely love your videos and I look forward to and watch every single one of them. You are the only person who would take the time to fully and clearly explain/show how things work in such awesome detail. Thank you for your efforts!
Thank you!! I am glad you enjoy the videos! I hope what you get out of the videos will come in useful for you one day! Stay cool! ;)
I LIKE HOW YOU EXPLAINED EVERYTHING AND USE THE 3 ITEMS TO GIVE ME A GOOD VISUAL
Glad you liked the video! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Thanks alot! This helped my mom replace our broken thermostat! Saved for summer!
Thanks really simplified this connect for me was having issues hooking up a new thermostat for my mom but this got me on the right track. So thanks!!! 🙂🙂
EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!! I'm going to install a humidifier controller and I wanted a good understanding of thermostat, furnace, and A/C wiring before I started. Thanks much for posting :-)
Thank you! You've give me more info than I've seen in the past 2 days! I'm gettin' 'er done today!
Saving this great video for when I need to replace my thermostat. Thanks so much for taking the troubles for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks Dora! Glad you liked the video! :)

Is this also for electric furnace
Thankyou jay. I just fixed a problem with a loose wire. What a difference now, enjoying the heater.
Your videos are absolutely the best! Thank you! Thank you!
I like the way you explain things simple and straight to the point... awesome 👍
Great video - thanks! Very helpful for those not familiar with these basic concepts.
Thank you. This simple instructional video is exactly what I needed.
Great video! Not only were the instructions easy to follow but I learned what each wire does. Thanks for putting it together.
Do a video on where the power comes from to power up the thermostat and how the evaporator motor is wired into the scenario on this video. Thanks. Great Video. Learning more here than school.
Man you explained it the way I learnt it in school
Nostalgia then 😉
Wish I would have seen this video last week. Thanks for showing the wiring.
Very clear instructions, thank you.
Thanks for the advice just fixed the AC issue you were right THANKS
Just what I needed to hear, you are great teacher. Thanks for all your advice
Great video. At the end the super glue trick-I have done this and it works good as long as it is not an area that gets stretched a lot like a knuckle. Bonus use for super glue is if you have a cavity but can’t get to a dentist. Have someone apply it to the cavity and let it dry. It will only last about a day but is a life saver if in pain.
Another great, no BS video done by a great instructor. My “”seasoned” albeit faithful 2008 Heat Pump system, which came with house, has a newer replacement Thermostat. It works, has fresh batteries and no issues. I’m always educating myself for the inevitable failure on the coldest or hottest day of the year. Question: My Thermostat has the following terminal labels: From Top Right Hand Side Down: Y2, Y1, B/O, G, C, RC, RH, W1, W2, and then S1, S2, S3. Some jibe with the video but Im curious as to the disparity. Thanks again, for all you do! And I’m so thankful you chose your current profession over Accounting!
Best explanation I have seen! Thank you
This is a GREAT video. Love the control board and AC outside clarity. WOW! Like
Thanks for your time and expertise for creating these videos for us. You are excellent.
Great Video, love the way you explain in details. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Awesome attitude, knowledge & teaching skills.
Great illustration!
thanks just what I've been waiting for....
Very helpful, thank you!
Thank you Jay! Another educational video from you again. More power💪
Glad to hear that! :) Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yes I've tried it and it actually works,... it'll actually hold the wound together for 10 to 12 hours
Thanks for sharing your knlodge on HVAC. This help me on my work. Great. Thanks For everything you do. Regards from Reynosa, Mexico.💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍
Miguel! I see you again :) Hard to forget greetings from Mexico heh. Glad to hear my videos are helping you out! Good luck with your career over there, I hope you will make it big soon!
Ma’am you are a hero 🦸♂️ thanks for your videos
Great great demonstration, very detailing,,,thank you
Thank you for the explaining
Very well explained. Thank you!
To the super glue trick. Yes indeed it works. I have used it many times. As a matter of fact if you use liquid skin or also called Liquid Bandage, thats exactly what it is, basically just super glue. Good tip for folks that haven't used it.
Very explanatory and very professional
Crystal clear -Great clip
LIKE it
thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Just what I needed thanks.
I just couldn't get the outside unit from coming on when I was using the furnace and no cool air, essentially, I was using the flames from the furnace to heat my house, so I took off the jumper as I only have one red wire, I put the red wire to RH, and unfastened the yellow wire. All thanks to your video and now I have heat!!!
Thank You !!!! I just fixed my AC !!!!
Perfect! Happy to hear that :) Stay cool!
Awesome video and very well explained!!! Thanks.
Great video! Thank you so much
Yup. Super glue works great on finger cuts in cold weather when the skin splits. Works like a charm.
I carry some tubes of superglue and neurosporing. On cuts I put neurosporing first and superglue on top. Best remedy ever
Great video. It help me to correct the mistake I was making. Thanks a lot.
Awesome! Glad to hear the video helped. Thank you for leaving a comment!
TOP LAD AMAZING TEACHING STYLE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MAN.
Thank you for the good explanation, it was very helpful
Great video and explanation!
Thanks for your videos. In the medical field we use sterile super glue (Dermabond). This is processed in a sterile fashion. The glue that we buy at the store is with no care if is exposed to bacteria or germs. So one must be careful in using super glue on your cuts. You could actually be introducing bacteria to the wound. There are sterile super glue that you can buy in the first aid section of many stores. This is a better choice.
Thank you for the additional information!
@@WordofAdviceTV thank the girls thank the kids and I are all excited about you all
Yes, but is super glue toxic?
Thank you sir. It was a lot of help wiring the thermostat
Thank you for a great video.
I gotta say it again... I like your video production... steady and clear. I hate it when I see a you tube video and the person uses point of view or is unsteady. I get nauseated.
Thank you! Glad you like the video! :)
Great stuff. Thanks for the wisdom!
Thank you for the information.
Thanks! Great teaching here.
Another very helpful video....thankyou Sir appreciated ...👍👍❤❤❤..watching from Philippines.....
Your superglue comment is interesting, did you know they actually sell this at many pharmacies? One product is called "new skin liquid bandage" it's essentially superglue, but with antiseptics mixed in to prevent infection, takes a few seconds longer to dry, but works great. It either comes with a little brush, or a spray nozzle can that you can just spray on the cut, works great, haven't used a band aide since.
as always very educative .thank you regards
Yes the super glue works great 👍 I was a little ruff coming up as a kid and didn't go to emergency room much I've had several several several tube of super glue used on me
you are awesome!! I now have cool air!! thank you!
Super glue works great, especially on those painful fingernail rips or gashes. Thank you for the very detailed look at the thermostat. Just bought a used rv and they installed new thermo incorrectly😐hope we get it working, it's getting cold out there brrrr
