"it's the thing we do"... nah, the thing they do is more or less stupid arguments about pointless stuff like we all do from time to time. But this level of irrational "relationship ending" shout-arguments about how the other person argues instead of the actual thing, is not what i want in my life and i don't find it entertaining at all - even if it would be pure acting.

For the uninitiated, this is Taste Buds at its core. Over the past 162 episodes, Sal has been gaslighting and belittling Joe at every chance he gets. This is not the first time that Sal has acted like this. Only now are some people finally getting to see it. I love this show, and I love the dynamic that these two have. At times, though, I really feel like Joe is undeservingly being made the butt of the joke. I HATE when Sal acts like this because this show is at it's best when the arguing is playful. There were moments throughout this episode where Sal was downright mean. I get that they both make outrageous statements and cut each other off, but the constant interrupting, not-so-subtle jabs, and denial from Sal was hard to listen to.

dude Sal is actually an insane person. He's never annoyed me more than this episode. I remember when i used to get excited for a new taste buds, Sal yelling for an hour kinda blows
I don't tune in to any of these podcasts specifically, but did see one recently where Sal talked about being on new medication. Other commenters have now said that the way Sal is talking here is like how they've talked when they're over-prescribed Adderall or use it outside the work-focus it's meant for (apparently it's not meant for casual socializing time). I don't know on any front, but it seems plausible that Sal is under the influence of some kinda substance here.
I honestly don't think he's being a jerk. (UNLESS he's doing an extended prank, in which case it's arguable.) But since we know he's on a new prescription and people are saying they experienced this kind of symptom before figuring stuff out, I hope folks will be gentle with Sal while he figures stuff out.

This is the only episode that I actually struggled to get through. This brought me back to arguing with a person I’m no longer friends with, this is exactly how they would handle it. Completely steamrolling good points and taking joy in hitting where he knows it hurts. Sal is on one this time, I feel bad that Joe had to sit through that.

They use different bread.. then proceeded to use an hour to argue the meaning of bread, whether you've made it or not, whether you worked for a place that made them like that, whether or not you have eaten them or ordered them. Joe didn't get a single point in without being interrupted then told he is interrupting. It was an infuriating ep honestly. I'm writing my thesis on it.
