And its important we all understand that Allah has given us these words to describe anything (singular/plural), and Allah gives us the opportunity (even whilst we talk) to choose our words from the ample words available in the language that Allah blessed our minds with.
So if you look at the Sunnah you'll notice Our Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa salam) was excellent in despensing beautiful words to describe something in a parable/example format only for us to understand something better without using language that potentially can have a negative effect on the mind/heart.

Probably BC they miss her and can't stop thinking about her and want all the good old times and another reason is BC the couldn't find a new woman to marry so they choose their ex as an option to marry they think she will marry them if they have changed or became rich or BC they used to love each other In the past so they hope to bring that love back and another reason is bc they children and doesn't their child to lose one parent.

What if I got married again, and I wanted to remarry her as a second wife?and she didn't get married to someone else?
In that case it's ok and might work out but still she will not feel the same way she used to when you married for the first time and she won't respect you or make you feel loved and fulfill your rights and she will only use you as a a tool to fulfil her desires and wants.

There's a reason why only muslim men are allowed to pronounce divorce in marriage, because they speak less out of emotion than women, so in Islam women can only either ask their husband for divorce or an islamic judge or leader to separate between them
If women were allowed to divorce on their own, they would divorce left right and center and the muslim society would be wrecked even more than it already is because they say a lot of things more impulsively without thinking about the consequences than men
There's a lot of cases where women ask their husbands over and over again for divorce without actually meaning it wholeheartedly and when they get divorced they are like "you idiot why did you do that? I didnt mean it"
Women simply aren't clear in their speech especially when they are emotional, they are not very good at putting into words what they actually want, but instead they say a lot of things they think they want but actually don't
So try your best to save the marriage and maybe try to find out what bothers her so much because no happy wife in her right mind would ask for divorce just for fun
