We use a 5 gal pail w/ windshield washer fluid and a special lid/ramp thingee with peanut butter on it. That attracts mice like crazy. The fall in and they don't get out. We also pour a circle around of a type of lime ( I forget what it's called) our combines & forage harvesters. When critters walk across it, they will lick the powser off and that will "dry them up".

Thought hit me today when you were sorting the corrals. Have you ever considered running a small rotovator or chisel plow in the lots in the unfrozen months to keep it drier/prolong manure storage? Like the "sand flulffer" maybe it would make these lots drier? Also, level out the dug holes. No experience, just thinking out loud

I'm very impressed with the low percentages of vermin in Saskatchewan even if the actual numbers are debatable. Some people debate the idea of pest control, but the dairy is not naturally occuring it's man-made. So,the extra tats are attributable to the farm. If not for regular pest control, the surrounding environment wouldn't be able to sustain the excess population. So,good job!
