I think the cottage calls for the softer, more traditional style. The entire property is beautiful and does not say modern at all. Will be interesting to see if you can take your own style out of it, as you design. Thanks for sharing this project. And Merry Christmas!

Congratulations on the new project! I may be in the minority but I adore the current exterior paint of the cottage. That green just stands out... especially in the spring/summer when everything is in bloom👌🏿.

I also think it is beautiful with that green colour at an old house with trees around. I do like modern style like Valentina has in her house, but also traditional. I have a mix of both and live in a swedish red house. For this old house Valentina will redo, I think the green is lovely and also a more traditional style inside will be great... even more traditional pieces mixed with her design. We don't need to modernise everything... at least that is my opinion since I love old houses. Mylittleredhouse at Instagram has an old traditional Swedish house. Inside it's decorated in a guite traditional but light style. That is much of a farmhous style but I think she does it really nice. If I had an old house I would be inspired much of these kind of accounts but mixe with modern lines and furinture too. Sometimes keeping some history and also bringing in some antiques really feels calming, at least for me. And some.thinhs from travels loke the jar Valentina showed from Morocco. I bought something similar there and also an.irnamented metallic tray from Morocco that we hang on the wall over the sofa. I panted most of our old furniture in a black or white matte colour, except from a little matte side table that had a lovely patina so I kept it like it was. I think old furniture can be so beautiful. They often have ornaments. Many swedes like painting old furniture in a matte light or dark grey colour right now. That has been really popular for a while. Then they often pair it with white walls. Or they have darker grey walls and keep the furniture like they were with a lot of patina. Depends on the style. Many in old houses just keep the furniture like they were. It is so fun with interior design.

Very exciting project! Traditional interiors are fun and appropriate for this I think - I would stay away from it being too farmhouse and keep it classic, timeless, hopefully include some antique pieces. Going to some auctions could be a fun video…. The kitchen could be reclaimed, maybe vintage tile of the area. Opening the kitchen wall could be a good opportunity seized but don’t forget how precious the intimate and cozy feel of old cottages is. Totally part of the experience!!! Good luck on this project, very excited to follow along.

I love the softer look for the cottage! I think it would flow better with the surroundings, and give you more of a sense of where you are.
I usually love more contemporary , modern Scandinavian but this cottage calls for more traditional warm colors and cozy comfy homey …

Oh congratz! For the cottage, the second image and yes tie the theme from house to house. If you can open it, I feel that would be ideal. I like the softer look personally. With the summer sun, dark might not be ideal though, but its all about preference I guess. I wish you the best and cant wait to see what you come up with. The traditional look is really lovely for this house. I think a white Ektorp sofa or chair from IKEA could be beautiful somewhere if they want to have a more traditional style. I think you can make a traditional style even one step more traditional than your sketch, if they like that, but still keep it nice and not feel dingy or old. I think you know what I mean since you lived in Scandinavia. 😊 We know you will make it lovely. ❤️ It will be so fun to see. I think if they have asked you they must like your modern aesthetic so I would do what your gut tells you. I don't believe in totally making the inside match the outside. I love the unexpected surprise with just a hint of cohesive design in relation to the outside. You see possibilities beyond just playing it safe. That s why you are the designer to push some safe boundaries and give them the nuance of Valentina' s design concept. Happy holidays from Australia. 🖤

Which then led me to decide to paint trim and doors black which then led me to your channel!! We bought a Nespresso machine and the three leather boxes you’ve featured from Amazon that I envision putting the pods in and keeping on the counter can’t wait!! What happened with your closet? I saw the video where you went to the closet lady to discuss layout and stuff. OMG I love the property!!! I can’t wait to see what you all do with this!
