Only a 2,500 difference? Shoot, I’ll shell it out and take the RDX 🤷🏻♂️👌🏼💯 I mean thats not that big of a difference. If I could go back I wish I would have got the civic EX over the LX. The price difference wasn’t even that much and I beat myself up everyday over it 🤦🏻♂️

Great comparison. I was going to treat my self with an RDX but when you look closer at the maintenance and fuel costs, for a daily, just doesn’t work for me. Also I was sad to learn the RDX uses a timing belt, not a timing chain.
Honda V6 engines use timing belts and have to have valve’s manually adjusted. It’s just a one time maintenance service you have to get done so not really that big of a deal. Having a v6 just feels much smoother I’m a car this size

I get 29 mpg hwy in my 2014 RDX AWD Tech cruising at 74mph, I think the 2018 still has the VCM 3.5L V6 which cuts it down to four cylinders at cruising speed as well as idle. I hope because I am currently shopping for a 2018 Advanced. I had a CRV and the Acura, although is a higher maintenance vehicle as far as cost, is a thousand times better than the CRV. I do not daily drive mine though due to fuel costs like he mentioned, so if you are shopping for a daily driver…make the sacrifice and get the CRV

I had the 2015 crv ex awesome vehicle but its cvt was leaking at 55k miles and for almost the same price you get the rdx. I havent tried the rdx yet but I wanted more power from a car and this has it and if its quiter thats also good which it sounds like it is. I do wish it has the same cargo capacity but it makes sense that somethings need to be sacrificed.

Nice job. I happen to own both. Bought the RDX for the power as I planned to sell my CR-V (nice to have where I drive) but found that the I prefer the lumbar support in the CR-V since recently having back issue. Listen on Autotrader but low interest, so yes Acura needs to do more showing it’s a solid Honda product and a great car to drive.
Were the front seats softer in the RDX compared to the CRV ? They looked almost identical.
Does the inside of the Acura feel larger than the CRV ? How much more does the Acura weigh over the CRV ?

I do wonder why the preowner car price are almost similarly between these 2 cars althought its in different class ? Is Acura less reliable or else than Honda ? Just compare to Lexus vs Toyota or Infinity vs Nissan have never same price range.
You can put regular gas on Acura too.
Wrong, you have to use premium or the car will drop at least 50 HP. Cheapo like you should sick to CRV.
@@rampar77 wrong . Go check consumer reports on CZcams for premium gas on Acura. They do sophisticated check for both mileage and power .
@@rampar77 It is recommended...not required. There is a difference between the two words. Premium is required for those high performance engines with high compression ratios. RDX does not have that high compression ratio though. I used to put in premium, mind you, of 93 octane at Costco/Sam's, and with reqular due to the high gas prices lately. And I did not notice much differences at all. This is also what my friend did since day one when he got his new RDX. Your money, your choice. You are not going to hurt my feeling...For comparison, My other friend's 2014 Lexus RDX V6 has similar compression ratio and Lexus did not recommend premium gas, go figure...

Shouldn’t you be comparing the RDX to the HRV? Its more similar to that than the CRV
CRV is for poorer people, has a lower grade quality materials. Acura is a luxury Honda and there higher quality materials used, and the design, both externally and internally, is just great.
