The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season.
Connie is proof that angels walk among us. She doesn't have much to give but can brighten the dark corners of a room with her very presence. Connie shares her life knowledge with others and always lends a sympathetic ear. She has an "attitude of gratitude" and actively notices the good in others and in life.
When she isn't volunteering to work her co-worker's shifts so they can spend time with their families, she is caring for her disabled adult daughter and crocheting dishcloths and coasters for every employee's birthday. She is the epitome of selfless and thoughtful service.
Connie has undergone many surgeries with her most recent in October. She bounces back quickly and gets back to work so she can provide for her and her daughter's needs. She is a cancer survivor and a widow. She does not let her age (74) or declining health hold her back. She is known as the "Energizer Bunny" at work.
In addition to the stress of caring for her disabled daughter and her own health issues, Connie recently totaled her car. She has no savings and is unable to cover the deductible to have it repaired or replaced. Her car still runs but it is on its last leg. The hood no longer opens and is held together with duct tape. It is a matter of time before she will not be able to drive it any longer.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to surprise Connie with an early Christmas gift. Check out the surprise in the video player above.

I’m certain Nate has plenty of work to catch up on while away from his news desk in order to deliver Secret Santa’s gifts. Although it must be exhausting at times, it is obvious Nate enjoys it as reflected in his grace and patience including repeat visits to homes when the recipients are away. Nate is truly a role model gentleman worthy of my praise and admiration. Great job, Nate!

Part of what makes these videos such a joy is that they show so very many good folks who are still working, doing everything they can to take care of their families, and they have been strong, often for a long time. it is so refreshing in a world filled with those who don't want to work, who complain constantly, who feel entitled....it is good to know there are so many solid, hard-working Americans still out there. Just a delight to see someone truly selfless, truly deserving, get a break.
As a single mom of 3 boys, I worked in a predominately male occupation back in the day. I was so appreciative of the men that would take my shifts so I could spend the holidays at home with my son's. I have never forgotten their selflessness. Please do whatever you can to help out a single mom. They really struggle sometimes and they may not make it known to anyone else.

Grandma can’t get enough of these Secret Santa videos. The crew are so genuine and caring to all the recipients. I grew up poor and I still remember walking up to Santa at a giveaway and getting a ‘Squaresville’ game (so hubby got me one on eBay). Secret Santa, you have impacted many lives, and not just the ones who receive these gifts, but the viewers too. May God bless you.
