    To me it looks like Fields is speeding through his progressions because he doesn't trust his oline. In return the OC doesn't trust fields. Not to mention the main thing people yell at him for is not going through progressions fast enough. Now he goes through them to fast. This was supposed to be an improved line, yet Tevin Jenkins out/Rookie RT/ A new Center-Guard combination that they weren't using all of offseason. Do people even realize he threw for more yards in this game then he did all but 1 game last year. Now imagine if the OC didn't call 8-9 WR screens that only worked once. After the first two-three drives the play calling was horrendous. It was the exact same way last year. The OC has a great opening script then doesn't know how to call a game and adjust.

      The Bears scored on 70.6 percent of their opening drives, which led the NFL in a major way. The next closest teams were the Eagles, 49ers, Buccaneers and Raiders, who each managed to come away with points on 58.8 percent of their opening drives. 2022 opening drive stats:
      #1 in fewest punts/drive
      #3 in most points/drive

      Ok don’t go to one extreme from another. Fields has progression issues. There were plays where two receivers were running the same route on the same side multiple times. The o line didn’t look like they knew which play was being called. There was no effort on the offensive side. Thats an indictment on coaching not designing plays to the strengths of players and not motivating the players to execute game plans. I've seen Fields regularly struggle to throw to NFL open WRs, but I've never seen him turn down WIDE OPEN receivers with the regularity he did yesterday.
    Justin isn't faultless by any stretch - he probably is who he is at this point - but it feels like the Bears coaches are so terrified of his mistakes that they're coaching the playmaker out of him.
    This is a tough, tough watch. Playing too safe early + pressing for big plays late = QB who clearly isn't confident in any way.

      It felt like he was being coached to be a pocket passer, and not what he is. The game plan seemed very safe and pre-season almost. The offensive line is just awful looking and then it falls onto Fields because he is the face. I don't think it is really Fields fault. The game got into his head in the second half thanks to the lack of the run game and the offensive line just being awful in the interior and Jones. Fields looked uncomfortable overall. Defense just did not seem to sync well, Defensive line especially just looked overwhelmed and unable to cause pressure. I am not stressing yet. It is week 1. But I am tired it is against the Packers every time. I just hope that we can go to their house and show them what Poles actually built.

      Playing safe early because you're OL can't hold long enough for the vertical game. U can't nip pick the few Justin f*ck ups and blame him while ignoring the MANY other issues that happened in that game. Imho, the glaring issues weren't Justin, it was poor coaching and preparation on defense and offense. And much of that falls in coaching. From what I seen, they want to force Justin to be a pocket passer when he isn't. They even mentioned this during the live broadcast

    • @CALIchitown
      @CALIchitown Před 9 měsíci +3

      @@TahitianTreatSkeetJuiceJr We keep saying he’s not a pocket passer; however, that’s what he was in college. He’s even come out and said that, and how he hardly had to rely on his legs. Yeah, the offensive line is still a concern, but Justin Fields is still missing open receivers in the 1st and 2nd progressions and instead dumping it off to the 4th. He’s still holding onto the ball too long, and when he does have a decent pocket, he bails when he didn’t need to. I don't know if it's the lack of confidence and trust in himself and in the offense, or if it's Luke Getsy lacking trust in him. I don't know. Yesterday was a clusterfuck.

  • @UR_Right24
    @UR_Right24 Před 9 měsíci +11

    No, Getsy did not have a good gameplan at all. We need Fields taking snaps from under center, not in gun all the time, in empty set formations for no reason. You can't sell the threat of those shot gun formation plays without establishing the run first. We need our backs pounding teams up the middle and with our O line creating directional blocking right and left and creating angles, and letting that set up play action for the deep vertical routes, which Fields is better at than quick short routes like slants and shallow crosses, because Justin can't go through his progressions fast enough in time to deliver the underneath stuff because he processes too slowly and holds onto the ball too long, and then he has only two choices at that point, try to deliver the ball into double coverage, throw a 50/50 ball downfield and force something stupid, or bail out of the pocket and run. A run game is a QB like Justin's best friend, but Getsy wants to do all this gimmicky Nagy horizontal stuff like they're the Chiefs or something, but they aren't and they don't have their personnel to do it and Fields isn't Mahommes. Getsy's game plan is predictable for defenses. The nickel corner just sat there and spied on that same behind the line of scrimmage screen pass to the our guys everytime and tackled them in the backfield for a loss or only allowed them a short gain if any. Those plays are going nowhere even if you execute them perfectly. I swear I think Getsy is purposefully trying to sabotage Fields because they don't think he is the guy and they want the fans clamoring for Bagent, so they can have an excuse to put him out there without them just putting him out there for no reason like they'd like to because otherwise they'd look like the bad guys if they just said, "yeah we're going with Bagent this week" for no apparent reason. Either that, or he is just a bad OC, but he certainly is not putting Fields and this offense in the best situation to be effective and successful.

    I really like your analasys. Spot on about alot of things.
    When braxton jones the "LEFT" Tackle kept missing his assignment or not adjusting, bad recognition, whatever you called him the Right Tackle like 3 times... lol. But yeah it was a bad play. Bad game for him.
    The 3 times DJ was wide wide open. Yeah i was watching live too and couldnt understand it either. And im glad you pointed that out. Im hoping Tevin Jenkins comes baxk very soon. And when he does honestly we might see more od this confusion for a game because of the way they have ti reshuffle the line. Whitehair from LG to C. Davis from RG to LG and Jenkins installed at RG. I think that is a complete offesnive line. If we are talking Madden no starter should be under a 77-78. And by the end if this season every one of them should be hovering around 80.
    So i expect regression from the line when this happens because you know consistenxy with the guy next to you is huge and you were just talking about they need to get it together. So lets say they do. Ok following week we get jenkins influx of talent but no cohesion... kind of a gloomy prospect. Like theyve got the line set up like that for the best chance to win now but i feel like the Oline is always a huge key in the outcome and yeah it kind if bothers me. But i think if this group stays together for a few years and stays healthy they have perrenial top 5-10 potential becuase theres not a hole.
    Fields... i love fields. And i defend him quite often. And i make people look very ignorant in doing so quoting advanced metrics and saying that the excuses are legit excuses and everyone elses favor QB in such poor situations get a pass why doesnt fields??
    I think hes extremely accurate. Advances metrics back that up.
    But he makes bad decisions like you were saying. People say he cant read a defense i say they dont know what theyre talking about and what they meant to say was that he makes poor decisions at times. But is that failing to read a defense??
    Roschon johnson needs to be RB1 sooner than later. Thatll be a big boost. I need to watch more of your videos. But right now your my #2 favorite. You have #1 potential though.
    Wanting me to spend money on patreon is a thumbs down... but i do completely understand why... you need to build the channell and your brand i get it. That takes funds your investing in yourself. Takes time and money. You need some type of return.
    But taking the last 5 plays out of the Video?? That wasnt cool man. Again i understand. But it was gimmicky. And i can guarantee you that you lost a potential subscriber who was already sold before you did that just becuase it wasnt cool and was gimmicky. But.... you probably also got a bite.. i read situations and people extremely well. And do what you got to do for now. But i think you should keep the content completely seperate. Maybe go over the defensive side of the ball on patreon. Or the rushing plays. Give more. Dont split it up. Make more content. Make your patreon special and exclusive. Not if you want to see the end of the video... then im gonna have to tax you... lmao.
    Your naturally better at this than 98% of the guys that have been doing it for years. I watch alot of takes. Far as QB analysis goes. Like i said your my #2 for now. I keep up with 5-10 semi regularly 3-4 biweekly.
    I think you know your better than other people doing it. And thats why your doing it. Its a good investment. I would 100% keep pumping advertisements for your patreon up here until you see the growth your looking for and get monetized. If you stay at it you will for sure.
    But yeah i like your channell ill keep on checking out your videos thumbs up all that.
    This video was actuallt suggested for me by the algorithm, after i commented on another video i was not scrolling. So that is working for you. I was watching a similar video by a much larger production about the same exact game and they didnt touch on a plethora of things that you see naturally. So youve got a clear advantage and i would use it. I think your gonna get exactly what you were hoping for out if this endeavor.

    On defense...cutting two guys who had a great pre-season and were really getting after the QB in favor of guys who didn't play as much, didn't show any ability to get after the QB, because, hopefully they would be more solid against the run...yeah, seems to have bitten us in the ass already. On top of that, the refusal to blitz a LB or Safety is mind boggling, especially when you're struggling to get pressure and a young QB is picking you apart. (poor coverage didn't help, but easier to find a WR with a clean pocket and being able to use a sundial to time how long before there is pressure)

    O-line doesn't give Justin enough time and he processes too slow....get him outside the box and mobile and we will have more success

    If by the next couple of games, he'd still the same, i would like to see peterman or Bagent, i know he's still learning but looked good preseason with the backups, imagine Bagent with the ones!!!

    Bears thought they would punk packers without rogers but quickly realized they were screwed. Fields can't read a defense thats why other teams passed on him in tne draft . This loss is on the whole team . Where was the urgency in the 4Th qtr ? Looked like most of the team would rather have been in the bleachers at wrigley chugging a beer .

    I would take a good "pocket passer" over Fields...

      Bagent will be QB 1 by December or by injury cause of Fields' decision making. Opportunity to get Caleb Williams should not be missed as well. Already regretting not taking Carter with the pick as well

    Fields has always had issues with his cerebello-prefrontal pathway. Becoming a running back requires similar quick thinking skills to find open holes or avoid collapsing ones. He only appears to have RB skills because he chooses to run only when he sees an opening. Imagine a RB choosing whether he wants to run or not after being given the ball.

    You cant be great if you are afraid to fail, Fields is afraid to fail. Just go and play what happens happens

      A lot of it has to do with design as well. Jaguars routinely put Trevor Lawrence in postions to fail and throw a ton of ints the last couple years and it’s paid off. I’m predicting huge year 3 leap for him . Team and coaches also have to be willing to fail for the sake of developing the kid. The play calling in Chicago a lot of times doesn’t allow for thar

    I said it before the season started. Yes, the Bears have some new pieces and that is exactly the issue. All the new pieces played together little to none in the preseason and it's going to take six to seven games for Gesty to figure out how, when and where to use them. Do you believe me now?
