- I've been trying forever to make Totem Shaman work in Duels, and after the latest balance changes, I finally achieved the impossible!

For a long time, the tale of Regis and the Totem Shaman deck was one of fantasy. Legends told of the "totem buckets" that would allow him to find success, but alas, despite weeks of search, Regis found none. Until, one glorious day, the ever-watchful RNGsus, upon seeing Regis torture himself and suffer for the mythical "content," decided that it was time to be benevolent. Lo and behold, after proving he was worthy in this run by winning the first game, RNGsus bestowed upon him...the TOTEM BUCKET! Regis and the Reginites rejoiced at its existence! And thus, the glorious, glorious content that Regis sought for so long was finally given to us all.
And Regis got pretty good luck at some other parts of this run too, I suppose
Grommash's Handguards was an amazing passive for this deck. Discounting Chisels, discounting Axe, pulling them into opening hands, and those weapons provided so much value for this strategy -- Grommash's was a great choice.
The Grommash’s Handguards from Dungeon Run was so weak that Blizzard actually had to buff it for Duels lol

I think duels needs an option to remove singular cards at a few breakpoints in the run. Like let people remove 1 card every 3 games/wins or something. This would potentially encourage taking suboptimal buckets, and it would also not feel as bad if you get one of those in general.
It would also provide even more skill expression, as removing the right cards is definitely something that needs understanding of your deck.
I would agree but considering how that goes in the Dalaran Heist and Tombs of Terror it might make a lot of decks feel worse to play against even if it would be nice.
4:35 I know this was probably a joke but he isn’t actually that far off. Base 12 is actually better than base 10 (we also should’ve used based 12 for our counting system but it’s too late to change that). 12 can be easily divide into half, thirds, quarters, and sixths; whereas 10 can only be evenly divided into halves and fifths. If it wasn’t for the fact that we (wrongly) choose base 10 as a counting system the imperial system would be superior to metric in every day life. However in since metric is better since it’s easier to do conversions.
There actually was a lethal against the Reno with 17 health. 3 + 2 + 3 (on board) = 8 + 4 (flametongue [2 mana]) + 4 (hero power and primal [3 mana]) + 1 (Goblin Lackey [1 mana]) = 17 [6 mana for the turn].
Free gigantotem into the primal means he had 18 damage. 1 over lethal.
Yeah I think he forgot to include his hero power totem into the original math
Both totemic reflection burns were absolutely brutal, the game blessed you with a holy run but decided that was too much for a mere mortal. Good thing Regis is a HS god

I like how you always just pick whatever when creating the decks you do instead of just playing the meta decks. I know with the recent patches it's hard to know how decks currently stack up but it's nice to see since there aren't many duels content creators.

That game against the APM all spells deck was hilarious in its misfortune, cackling in bed. Props to Regis for sticking it out with the good attitude.

At 1:13:15 , that’s the first time I’ve heard Regis curse full on under his breathe 😂 something as simple as that makes Regis more human to me.

Don't know how Duel's algorithm for buckets are now but it would make sense to place an inclination for Total amount of type cards over "Oh you have ONE murloc & 14 totems? Here have AALLL THE MURLOCS!"

Typing as someone who doesn't even play the game (so only listens to you on duels) I feel like one of the issues with the format (which is lots of fun to watch) is that bucket manipulation is 100% the meta. And I feel like a lot of the "good" strategies revolve around how tightly knit certain buckets are. The Demon Hunter relic package, as showcased in your video, can isolate you down to a very small subset of buckets thus always giving you good cards. The ice packages the mages have been running seem to be highly synergistic. Etc. As opposed to, say, the totem build which not only doesn't have a directly associated treasure, but also dipped you into murlocs almost immediately via amalgam, and that polluted so many of your bucket options afterwards.
I feel like the way they generate "deck theme" is by either randomly sampling 3 cards from your deck, or evenly spreading all possible themes for your deck and choosing one randomly from that. Which would explain why having 1 murloc is instantly polluting, or 1 battlecry, or 1 deathrattle. Personally I think it would be fairer to non-bucket-optimized decks if they said "all decks will have X themes" (X being some number balanced carefully, like 6 or 10 or something). "These themes will be assigned by percentage of cards in your deck that match said themes, and choosing the top X themes with the highest representation." That way EVERYONE has the same number of different buckets they are rolling between. If someone somehow only has X-1 themes in their deck, then a random one is chosen to be added to pollute the pool. Basically it forces optimized decks to have just as much bad synergy as non-optimized decks, while still allowing you to strategize and push for certain styles.
In a sense, the strategy that would evolve from that that I see is finding a deck with X-2 themes where you are happy with any of those themes, rather than decks that just want 1 or 2 themes and that is it.
The first time I got 12 wins with Shaman was with totems and armgaurds, it's so powerful!

I got TWO totem buckets attempting to try Totem Shaman and my god. The treasure that turns all minions in your hand into a copy of a targeted minion?
I got Immolated and turned almost my entire hand into Kobold Lackies for lethal.
Missed lethal at 22:30 could’ve played both totems in hand and hero power making the buff spell a 5/5 buff equaling 17 damage

There actually was lethal at 22:22. Flametongue brings the board to 12 damage with weapon, then hero power + gigantotem + primal is another 5

All of a sudden all your vids became basically impossible to find, I really had to go in my history and click one I say 3 days ago. Weird.
Oops all spells got removed on the latest patch so that reno had the deck before the patch went out. Not sure how soon after the patch you played this run but that feels worse than the other games because of it.

People makee a big deal about metric being base 10, but for length the common uses are centimeters -> meters -> kilometers which is first a jump of 100x and then 1000x. Feet and inches are used together and are generally in more grappable numbers. Don't even get me started on temperature.
I'll give you Fahrenheit is more for people as Celsius is geared toward water with 0 being where water freezes. But your point about the metric system is nonsense
@@mediocrestu8238 it's only "geared towards people" if those people are American. My city in Australia gets to 0C (32F) once every 5 years or so - and never significantly below.
By the original definition of zero in the system that Fahrenheit copied (zero being "as cold as it gets in the creators home town"), Celsius is geared towards Aussies in a convenient 0-50 scale!
Also he jokes, but base 12 tends to be a lot better in some cases - it's more clean to into smaller than halves, since you can divide 12 by 2, 3, 4 and 6 - whereas you can only divide 10 by 2 and 5.
