  • This tree is so easy to make you will want to make multiples. The best thing about this technique is it’s a standalone project. No canvas behind it to obstruct the light passing through.
    As a child we made ceramic Christmas Trees and loved them so much. However they are heavy and take up a good amount of space on a table. Skipping forward to today we have Jazzy Glass and multiple mediums to create flat but textured decorative trees that can fit practically anywhere and for any occasion. Please sit back and enjoy this little video and create your own little Jazzy Tree. Happy Holidays my friends.

    Even though I have done this in your class, I loved seeing this because you gave tips here in how to add elements of design with different objects like shells, beads or other colors of jazzy glass! I am going to make some of these real soon for a couple of friends!

    OOOOH. Just thought how fun it would be to do an orange and black one with added media for a Halloween tree!

    The aluminum foil shape is genius! So is the UV Resin to make the project go faster. I just made eight glass trees using two part resin and it’s so messy and takes so long to cure.

      Hello! yes, the UV resin is very fast can be done with lamp or cure in the sun. I do two parts as well but because my foil creates a chamber the resin stays in place. we just mix a larger batch and divide it out for each project. I us lots of UV for workshops.

    You mention a snowman coming up and I don’t find it. Do you have a link to it?

      Somehow my video was deleted so I have to make another one. It’s on the list. It’s very simple. Just create 2 or 3 circles with foil . Then we’re the circles come together I over lap and cut the foil from those areas so it looks like one body . Then you mound the white jazzy glass so it’s higher in the middle of the circle sections but still thick enough between each. Cure and then decorate with hat, buttons, etc.

    Beautiful! What type of plastic was that?

      It is vinyl clear table runner sold by the yard in fabric departments. You can use heavy clear shower curtains etc. hope this helps

    With the uv resin what options I have with the lamp ? Or what lamp will work till I get one

    • @ArtfulElements
      @ArtfulElements  Před rokem

      If you have UV nail lamp that works but I would do a test for curing time. If you don’t have a UV lamp but have the UV resin you can put your project in the sun to cure it will take longer. The other option is two part epoxy resin you can mix some up pour into a cup add in the glass then just dump the glass into the reservoir and let cure for 24 hours. Hope this helps.

    Can you use sandwich bags for the plastic?

    • @ArtfulElements
      @ArtfulElements  Před rokem

      Yes or trash bag but if they are too thin they are harder to get pulled off. Some resins get hotter than others so use something strong. I use the table runner because it’s sold in rolls and clear and comes in various thickness so that’s it. Have fun!

    Yall have Epoxy certificates to work with this highly toxic material?
    Just wondering :)
    And I would never let a child near this. Resin is small molecule when mixed as this is and when it get in, you have a problem

    • @ArtfulElements
      @ArtfulElements  Před rokem

      No need for one and always follow safety . Plus it’s done in a well ventilated room. Truthfully there are so many worse toxins . Craft smart :)
