The Lore of Spartan Team Omega as of 2559

A lesser known team of Spartan-II super soldiers, Team Omega has history battling the Covenant as a quick reaction force. They fought alongside Red Team during the Battle of Arcadia in 2531.

We finally got more lore about the extra three members of Omega Team!
The three unnamed members have just been retconned into being Spartans Kai, Riz, and Vannak. At some point between Halo Wars 1 and 2 they were transferred into their own separate team from Omega, being canon version of Silver Team.
Been wanting this for a long while. As much as the show is horrible, the team itself were fine(aside from Chief beinging it) and canonizing them without Chief as a member is a great idea that I am finally happy to see here.

I think during Halo Wars 1 that was the case, but the Phoenix Logs recovered by Red Team on the ark only confirm the survival and operational status of Leon, August, and Robert.

The way I see it, is this team were comprised of washouts, bc they worked closely with Red Team (who were also washouts).
There’s an unknown number of washouts who were rehabilitated and re-augmented as technology advanced, so it’s not entirely possible post-Battle of Arcadia that 3 more Spartan-II washouts were added to the roster, or perhaps these 3 Spartans were elsewhere on the planet during the Battle and that’s why we didn’t see them? I mean cities are big, let alone planets. Not hard for them to be elsewhere.
That’s why we see 6 in game, and 3 of those 6 are from Red Team, who later come aboard the SoF leaving the 6 of Omega Team behind.
Jerome then learns the survival of the 3 you named and the other 3 are unknown

I had come to a similar conclusion of Omega Team being a detachment of Red Team like Beta and Gamma Red. My only guess to why they are referred to as "Omega Team" and not "Omega Red" if this is the case, is that Microsoft doesn't want to risk getting sued by Marvel Comics, who has a character named Omega Red.
Perhaps a canonical reason if they are a branch off of Red Team is that since the Spirit of Fire had been missing for so long, and most Spartan II's are now dead(or not, I can't keep track of all these retcons), there is no official "Red Team" anymore and so Omega Red was renamed to Omega Team.
