    Just to confirm - does this completely avoid the "low battery chirping" that standard smoke detectors do? We had a bad incident with this while we were out and our dogs were home, so looking for a better solution - believe I can get an alert on the app and mute any kind of alarm to protect my pups' ears (and of course head home if it is a real alarm).

      Yes and no is the true answer. It will warn you prior to the batteries going out, but if you ignore it for weeks it might make more notifications. I have never waiting that long, so I live a chirp free life. The batteries also last a long time as I get over a year with no issues.

    As a sparky, they are terrible to fit, align and terminate.

    I have two of these installed in my house and left a pot on the stove. They went off but never alerted my phone that anything was wrong until after I had gotten home to a smoke filled house and the fire department had come and gone there was finally a message but not an alert that the smoke was clearing. It could have saved me a lot of smoke damage in my house if it had alerted me when the alarms went off and customer service gave me the biggest run around about why I wasn't alerted and the forums are filled with people who have the same issue!!!! There is a reason they have no reviews of this product on the google site!

      I have gotten alerts on my phone. I will say you have regularly open the app as it seems phones now of days will put apps into deep sleep if they are not accessed weekly. Not sure if that was your issue, but figured I would point it out if it was.

    I have 5 of these amd tje constantly go off saying there is a fire in said room and it's a false alarm

    • @PUREreviews
      @PUREreviews  Před 17 dny

      If they are all linked maybe one has a defect or something. I have 2 of them now and I had one at my old house for about 6 years with no issues.

      @PUREreviews yeah mostly it's been my sons room. A little scary when the whole house is lit up red in the middle of the night. It happened twice in one night and then 3 times the next day while the kids were at home. All false alarms. Then a month later without any issues I was sitting on the couch last night and my living room one went off and before I could get off the couch and push the cancel button it shuts itself off. They are tied together with my house system but still it's been that main one and then the second one last night. There nice but idk how I feel about them at this point. I bought 6. That's alot of money for false readings

    How long does this detector last in terms of years??

    • @PUREreviews
      @PUREreviews  Před 2 měsíci

      10 years from the manufacture date, which is because of the carbon monoxide part (gen 1 was 7 years). The expiration date is because CO Sensors only only last 10 years in general. Also, I think the Google Nest will actually notify you when it is when it is going to expire.

      @@PUREreviews Thank you for reverting, so will it be able to detect smoke even after 10 yrs or expiry date?

    • @PUREreviews
      @PUREreviews  Před 2 měsíci

      @@peterkimera7676 I think so, but I am about 7 years on my first one and 2 years on my second one....so I have not hit the 10 year mark. I love them though.
