I think many of the cameraman, marshalls and members of the other team is waiting for the Honda engine to pop on that moment... they were all dissapointed that it did not...
Actually I agree with you, the Honda engine sounds like a wild animal, it's kind of a very raw sound, as it has a personality. But Mercedes engine sounds good too, very stable and smooth sound, just like a perfect machine.
For those curious, Honda engines have cylinder deactivation to save fuel when full power isn’t needed only having 3 cylinders run.

wow every few seconds you can tell a change in the tone. i believe thats the engine switching to the other 3 cylinders while idling. idles 3 at a time
