I found it creepy that he was being all son and father with Clark. Basically he was replacing Lex with Clark, which is a very very very offensive thing for any child to seeing their parents replacing them with somebody else. It always grossed me out hearing Lionel calling Clark son.
Clark really was naive when it came to Lana. He was stupid enough to think she was some kind of innocent angel just because he had a teenage crush on her. Clark loved an idea of Lana and he was blind to what the real Lana Lang was like.
To borrow a line from a season 3 episode and changing it a little, "[Clark] was so in love with [Lana] that he just couldn't see the dark side of her persona.".
Yes, but she did start herself on the path of redemption. Remember Imra of the Legion told Lana that she is "remembered for a lot more than her relationship with Kal-El". EDIT I forgot that I posted another reply. LOL!
"If you're saying this because you think I'm wasting my time with Lana instead of pursuing some master-plan that Jor-El set out for me, that's my decision to make." When I saw this, my thought was, "Clark... that's EXACTLY what Lionel and EVERYONE WATCHING THIS SHOW have been trying to get through your thick skull!"
I love Lionel, he's the man. But I can see this now: Clark: "Why are you calling my mother?" Lionel: Sighs. "Well maybe if you called her more often, I wouldn't have to!" 😂😂😂
@LKSPR13 I don't consider Earth-2 Lionel Luthor to be Earth 1 Lionel Luthor. They're mirror opposites of each other. Where Earth 1 Lionel found redemption, and possibly salvation in the afterlife, Earth-2 Lionel Luthor found damnation and hopelessness as Darkseid's vessel.
It was kind of funny that Lionel was the only person in the series to see Lana for the selfish manipulative bitch she was rather than the innocent victim Clark and most of the other characters believed her to be.
I know I had a huge crush on her growing up, she had that girl next door vibe, little did I know she kidnapped the girl next door & got her into some kind of sex cult lol
I kinda loved the Lana gone bad, all in the name of protecting Clark. It would serve as a lesson for Clark about the women who love him. Each relationship he is in serve as a lesson to him and to prop him for Lois. Nah let Lois be a surprise for him. Though the idea that Lana and even Chloe going so bad that they kill for him would make Clark more Terrified of being in a relationship.
Lionel was the becon of wisdom. Good or bad he taught everyone else truly valuable lessons.
Bingo. Matter of fact I'm bout to go check out his conversation about Leer (Shakespeare) with Clark Luther in the fortress.

I thought it was so cool how Lionel went from a villain, to hero, to martyr. It was so awesome!

Sometimes love is blind
@marius kristensen Hell yeah
@marius kristensen Many time’s over.
I love when Lionel use bible verses in the show.
Oh that was one of the best epic highlights of this show and even the man of steel movie.
@@Cedrclovesutube I hate when movies and television make Bible verses.
@@SethBrundleify get over it
"Lana's incapable of doing something like that."
Bullshit Clark. Just because you had a crush on her for years it doesn't make her a saint.
She was an innocent girl up to HS. It was after HS when she started to go rogue.

+Ameen Ahmed It's funny because I actually read that Tom Welling was often seen around the "Smallville" set muttering "Clark is so stupid!" Lol
@@CatieCass Clark isn't human after all lol he is a little slow on human emotions and understandings 😅
@@CatieCass Yeah! In the podcasts of talkvile! He still talks about it!

I strangely thought that was Kevin Conroy for a second.

+Scoonertuna Couldn't agree more. Earth-2 Lionel and Earth-1 Lionel are complete opposites. But it was awesome seeing my man John Glover back!
Well earth 1 Lionel was similar to earth2 Lionel at least until he changed!
Clark sure had blinders on when it came to Lana.
It was kind of funny that Lionel was the only person in the series to see Lana for the selfish manipulative bitch she was rather than the innocent victim Clark and most of the other characters believed her to be.
I think Chloe had an inkling at times, but Lionel was definitely the only one who was fully aware of it.
Its almost impossible to fool Lionel.
Lionel truly was wise.
You know I really enjoyed the storyline between these 2
one of the few times in this show you can say this honestly LISTEN TO LIONEL!!!!!!
I can say the same thing now about Allison Mack
I know I had a huge crush on her growing up, she had that girl next door vibe, little did I know she kidnapped the girl next door & got her into some kind of sex cult lol
@marius kristensen lol dude she's going to prison
@marius kristensen Learn some proper English.

To Love is a bit controlling if we honestly analyze occupation and perceived obligation.
Clark Lionel Lana Bizarro my top 4
