Thanks so much… I was super confused as to where exactly that pedal stop had to go.., you pointed me to it exactly! And… not just fellas here… I’m a 66 year old lady!! I love fixing my own stuff. For others doing it alone, I had to use a long pvc pipe wedged in between the brake pad and the seat bottom to get the proper gap so I could insert the new piece. Worked great! I Have also repaired my washer and dryer! Thankful for people like you that share your knowledge. Peace to you ❤
Thanks a lot for this. I will keep an eye on your channel 😉 I just fixed an 8th gen Civic understanding the mechanism with this video. It looks a bit different from this car but the issue and working was the same. I just unplugged, magically blew the switch, plugged again and now it works perfectly. I tried 250 times, not even one failure.
This was helpful a lot you explained very well with both problems . My lights would stay on and also one day my horn/light stop working so today I got my self a stoplight switch and a fuse and it fixed both problems now I can enjoy cruise control 😂
it would be very useful if i found this video sonner today, had the same problem solved today afternood, but now i have a bigger problem the tail light is ok but the other 2 simply dont turn on
Great video! I have one question. My 2002 Honda civic rear running lights are working just fine but the left light doesn't get brighter when I hit the brake. The center and right light work just fine. Why would that brake light not come on?
I have a 2001 Honda civic. My horn doesn’t work and my brake light doesn’t come on. I replaced my bulbs, brake switch and my fuse ( my fuse wasn’t blown but I replaced it anyways) when I connect the plugs together the brake light doesn’t come on or when I bridge the ports together. When I add power to the white wires the brake lights comes one. Does this mean I am not getting power frm the 15 amp fuse to my switch?
So, the switch to the left what does that one do? I’m under the assumption that one of these being out of adjustment can cause my brakes to drag in my 03 civic ex. Is that a possibility?
@@LehewTech Having a problem with a 2003 Honda civic hybrid with strange brake lock issues. Besides all the usual brake system issues and brake bleeding requirements, I'm becoming aware that this switch may activate some kind of brake boost system possibly related to being part of a hybrid car. Like it might control more than a brake light.
@@LehewTech They oddly lock up when starting the car so the car can barely move, but only rarely. Brakes feel stiff like they are loaded. Might be a mechanical issue with the brakes or bleeding (they work fine otherwise) but the first thing I will check is for a problem with this switch. There are some claims it can cause something like this. Car is owned by a friend so will let you know. I do wonder if it's something with the CVT clutch or the brake booster. Again, they work okay otherwise.
Update: these front calipers on 2003 Honda Civic hybrid, when I replaced the brake pads the calipers did not move easily. I used a clamp to push the calipers back in. I bled the brakes and replaced the pads and everything worked without problems. The owner continued using it but I didn't realize that very quickly with some use and some heat, these calipers were seizing up. The car had apparently been in a humid environment with previous owner and the brake fluid was probably neglected. The cap on the Honda reservoir doesn't seal very well. Moisture must have gotten in the system and damaged / corroded the inside of the front brake calipers. Sometimes the car would hardly move and the owner didn't realize the problem. Thought it might have been engine or transmission or something. But the brakes must have been glowing hot. A month or two later and the pads were already worn out. The engine was even overheating at times so now I have to check the head gasket. Hopefully the wheel bearings weren't damaged. The rotors were mostly good, surprisingly. So not being 100% sure of the problem I just went to Napa and bought two new calipers and did the whole job again. Problem totally solved. Next time if there is any friction or weirdness in resetting calipers or brake servos, out they go. Into the trash.
Great video! Mine is a 98 Civic though ,and unfortunately the older models do not have the removable trim pieces. :( I am a slighty out-of- shape 70 year old lady, so getting under that dash was just not an option ( I did TRY..... ), I did have the plug replaced, and it worked fine for about a week, now the brake lights comes back on after closing the driver side door. or turning off the dome light , or putting it in gear, or a few other fiddley things. it's at least $100 just to get someone to look at it! Are the fuses on both years pretty much the same? I'm thinking I can try that.
Question: if I replace the little stopper and all my lights and my brake lights are still on does it mean I'll have to replace the brake switch next? I have a 2004 Honda Accord
If the brake lights on either side aren't working but the center high mount one is... could it still be the switch? I've ruled out bulbs and fuses as the culprit.
As a single woman, I just want to say THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!! Your video saved me money!!!😚🥰❤
Excellent. Saved 500 people 500 bucks.

Tha k you so much
You forgot to talk about the switch next to it. Is that a booster system switch that causes the brakes to lock up if it's out of adjustment?
No, that other switch is for the cruise control

You might have a blown fuse elsewhere on the car
Thanks for the video , is that the same at honda civic 2005 ?

Which stopper did you use ?
Why on 2003 honda crv wen breaking left signal comes on and off thank you.
Have crv 2003 checked fuze which combines with hooter and fuze is ok but no brake lights please help.
Where you get the part from
Thanks
Are you able to help me out my tail lights won’t work but my break lights do?? 2012 Honda Civic ex
I have the same problem and searching for help
How does that bottom peace fit the one that locks the switch
so my window brake turns on and not the two on the tail light... I replaced the bulbs and it’s not the fuse... what else could it be
THANK YOU. GOD BLESS YOU.

Definitely not the switch, trace wires. The one on the trunk lid are usually the broken ones, wild that it's opposite
Is that the problem is the brake light is on
I'm having an issue when I apply to the brake, it blows the fuse
Just hanging out at the junkyard doing yt videos!?
