There is a glut of quality fullbacks in the NRL at the moment, but he'd still get a starting spot at any club, whether it was fullback, halfback or five-eighth. Maybe people don't actually watch the comp much (makes it hard when channel nein delay it and play it after midnight on a Sunday). I'd have him at the Dogs any day of the week.

he kinda moves like Christian Cullan. And although it would be sweet to see him at the warriors (fingers crossed) its a different type of game over here. very interested to see how he goes .
Talent wise he is a freak but I wouldn't say he is the closest thing to Slater for me it has to be Ben Barba...now that kid is an absolute freak with ball in hand.
@MrJakobBrown not consistent enough, i watch wigan every week, and he performs every week and scores every week. this doesn't show his defensive efforts. He can cover the defensive line if it get's broken and never misses tackles, he tracks the ball across at all times aspecially near the line so can defuse grubbers and his handling from bombs is perfect. as well as this you can see his lightning pace and great feet, the best thing to come from england in a while
You are all forgetting that the NRL requires alot more skill compared to the Super League. The NRL is played faster than the Super League, and the NRL have more skillful players. the Warriors have taken a gamble signing him.

Barba is an undoubtedly great player but in terms of playing style Widdop is closer to Slater. That isn't saying anything bad about Barba though. Locke is a lot closer to Slater than Barba but Barba is still a better fullback (imo)

@Sthelensfan2010 Kyle Eastmond is a top player and I hope he doesn't go to Union as we need to keep players of his quality in the game, however, the thing that sets Tomkins apart from Eastmond is he is faster, he can tackle, he is better at kicking and is tougher. Don't get me wrong, Eastmond is a quality player and I would love him at Wigan it's just he has a reputation of being soft hence spending more time on the sidelines than Darren Anderton.
