I know that Rhett and Link have basically known each other longer than Shayne and Damien have been alive... but I would love to see a game show with both pairs playing something like the oldschool Newlywed Game against each other.

I like how Damien so far is the only person to actually play the game correctly. Everyone else had questions about themselves while Damien is actually giving scenarios and what he would do in them.

@@charliebat Tics can also become stims. I have a tic where I twitch my nose involuntarily, but I also can twitch it repeatedly as a stim for comfort. Depending on the tic they can sometimes become a place of comfort. However, most tics are uncomfortable (physically & mentally), especially when the tic cannot be executed. I think the difference is that tics are involuntary and the stims are usually voluntary. I think Damien's eyebrows began as an involuntary tic and now he occasionally uses it as a stim.
I'm autistic and to this day I have no fucking clue what stim means, every time someone explains it they say something different.
I think it might be his contacts drying out, people tend to blink a lot more. But I don't know for sure, would be interesting to watch him when he has his glasses on to see if it happens then.
he did say it was a tic, and a stim just means a self stimulant, everyone does them to some extent, neurodivergent people do them a lot more, it can be cracking ur fingers, chewing on the inside of ur mouth, to rocking back and forth, or humming, something that stimulates urself

Shayne is actually spot on with how the Clever Corps would respond to Damien's tweet. If he says he won't be streaming for whatever reason, we're all super supportive and give him lots of love.
which to be honest is exactly how in expect damien to be; super supportive and giving lots of love, but to be honest this is how _all_ fandoms not only should be but generally are with their creator.
like, i can't think of a single creator who said they needed a break or were unable to stream and got a negative response from their audience.

as someone who is autistic, has ADHD, and only made it through 2020 because of Damien, it makes me so fuckin’ happy to hear him be open about being neurodivergent

Yes! ADHD here and 2020 was not fun. Those streams (especially around the Bugsnax time) were at times the only thing I looked forward to and they always made me happy. The clevercore has always been so nice and supportive. I can be kind of awkward and nervous in person, but also know I can’t be alone for too long. It was nice to have a sense of community, but in a comfortable setting. Not sure Damien knows how much a lot of us really appreciate his honesty and the safe space he creates for us.

huzzah! also, context, the reason clever corps are "cool see you there." when damien streams and "HECK YES DONT YOU DARE STREAM." when he misses a stream is because for a long time he felt the need to apologise, repeatedly, every time he missed a stream. so we all just want to make it abundantly clear to him that, while we love watching his streams, we want him to look after himself first. also him missing stream to help shayne and his broken down car would result in a fun anecdote the next stream.

Originally this was used primarily to refer to autism, which is a condition that especially doesn't benefit from being treated as an illness or disability because it often doesn't actually hinder the functioning of a person with it, but the term has broadened over time to refer to many different kinds of people including those with OCD, ADHD, Tourrette's, Dyspraxia, Dyscaculia, Down Syndrome, Epilepsy, Anxiety, and some chronic mental disorders.
Essentially it has become an umbrella term that a huge variety of people with any non-standard brain functions identify with.
The opposite is neruotypical, which is what most people are.

@@not__any7766 it’s called Sleep with Me (yeah, I know lol, but it’s not weird like that or anything) and it’s hosted by Scooter/Drew. It’s the first one that’s actually helped me. It took a couple of episodes to get into coz it’s not like the usual sleep podcasts. It’s not like a guided meditation or anything. But somehow it really makes the world of difference to me. I highly recommend it. And Scoots is wonderfully inclusive and works to help all sorts of different charities etc. I really do think it’s worth a try for anyone who struggles with sleep. The website also has recommendations for other podcasts if it doesn’t work for you. I hope you find something that helps you sleep friend, take care xxx

And with the situation now, more people will need to talk about how they’re doing without stigma or judgement.

My bf (who is basically a Damien variant lol) and I have been doing "Parallel Play" where we each do a solo activity we love (ex: Sims or sewing for me, video games or model making for him) but in the same room so we can randomly talk to each other or give each other love lol. It's worked well for both our neurodivergence and social battery.
I do the same with my "long distance" boyfriend (he's not that far away but sadly we don't get to see each other often) so we video call and parallel play and do whatever and talk from time to time. It's so nice, I wish I could do it irl like you and your bf :) xx
