Today we install the High Capacity Kit from Brownells on the Mossberg Maverick 88. The kit is listed for a Mossberg 500 but is completely interchangeable with the Maverick 88.
a word of cautionary advice, set the receiver deeper into the jig, flush with the fore face, to avoid twisting the receiver. Great video and thorough coverage.
Well I didn't watch the video but I don't need to and I have no clue what you're talking about about worrying about twisting the receiver that stuff just basically falls apart once you take that screw loose on the end of the magazine tube so what are you talking about? you don't even need to put it in a vise ive done it 50 times literally on my lap.
Instead of heat use fingernail polish remover to loosen the lock-tite. Clean the threads and re-apply blue lock-tite on the threads upon re-assembly. YMMV.

The Maverick 88 comes in many configurations. Just order the one you want and you won't have to do this. The result in this vid is their #31046. 7+1 12ga 20" barrel.
Much less $$ too, but the build is fun and for people who are doing it in stages. It started when my brother bought the basic version of the gun and we looked into the mods that were available.
It's expensive to buy all these parts and do it yourself, but it's fun and I enjoy it because I get to learn a lot about this kind of stuff and it comes with a bit of pride when you take it to the range and people are like "wow where'd you get that?", and you can tell them that you built it.
Thank you for the video it was very helpful and I subscribed. I was hoping someone could answer a simple question. I have two magazines springs one is for my Maverick 88 security version which holds seven rounds and the other is for my normal Maverick 88 that holds five rounds but I don't know what the difference is as the two springs look almost identical length wise. Any pictures with worded details would be much appreciated or any advice. Thnx
3:10 "make sure the bolt assembly is to the rear before installing" 3 hours I've been searching online to find the answer to my problem. It doesn't have to be to the rear for removal and the owner's manual does not mention anything about barrel installation, only removal.

Great video. Have a question, just picked up a new Maverick 88 and wanted to change the barrel. Do you need to replace the stock magazine tube if you're adding a 18.5 barrel??
@@wespeacock793 Just had to look up what “bbl” means. Apparently you were too lazy to type ‘barrel’ so you used an abbreviation that doesn’t even make sense. Great work.
I've been searching for a light rail or a light mounted in the pump grip. No such luck. I also want to keep my short 18.75 barrel and the light in the pump grip would be great. Mag extensions are also needed not to exceed the length of the barrel. Even if it gives no more than one or more shots. One shot can save your life. Do you have any info? ATI also makes the Scorpion Grip for the AR-15 which I have on my AR and highly recommend, especially if you have any problems with your dominant hand.

Terrible design. Barrel must match tube, Tube must match barrel. I was given an 88 with no barrel. Thinking of cutting it in half and chukkin it. I lucked out and bought mine at a pawn shop and it already had the 20” barrel and 7 round mag tube

I assume it is an 8 shot magazine tube if you load 2 3/4” shells. I would also recommend a bbl/buffer tube reinforcement brace.
Sadly this cost more than just buying a 20" maverick 88..
Absolutely - much more 😂
My thoughts exactly

It would be cheaper to buy a 20" 88
