It came across as an 80s movie because that's when the song came out and the video was recorded. 🤣 I was in high school and am a lifelong Garth Brooks fan. He has a fantastic voice and is a top notch entertainer. Yes sir, she shot him. 🤣

Just watched his netflix special, and it had a whole part about this song. People were outraged with him. The video was banned from TV for a while. He had backlash from many, but others were happy he was shedding light on the topic. His vid was breaking news, lol.

AB, When the Song first came out......the radio stations played it here in Tennessee!!! But, the media/music industry told Garth and his music producers that for the song to even play on the stations to cut the 3rd verse!!! I've seen the LIVE version and the Crowd actually sang the 3rd verse for Garth!!! He Loved it, that they Loved it!!!
He's bad ass. I went to his concert oct '93 in Fargo. There was a bomb threat. He offered refunds to those that wanted, but gave an awesome concert to those that stayed.
He's clearly country but his album, "Ropin' the Wind" was the first country album to top the pop charts. Garth transcends genre, for real real.
