Everyone will know someone who gets cancer in their life. My dad died of stomach cancer back in October 95 this disease has no favourites and destroys the lives of the young or old and wrecks lives of those left behind. I beat mouth cancer but still live in fear I know I shouldn't but just can't help it. I admire those who can pick themselves up while fighting it and beating it. My dad was 53 when he passed away I'm 56 can't believe I'm older than my dad ever was it's so scary be glad when we come to the day when cancer is no more.
exactly..they say cancer is hereditary, no, it's not!! no one in my family ever died from cancer except my mother..blood cancer :( so don't beleive it's hereditary, anyone can get cancer!!

Many of these cancers came about by smoking , excessive drug use (especially by the musicians) excessive drinking, fast lifestyles. And others through no fault of their own. So sad.
It is so tragic because cancer even hits very young people. I wish that there was a miracle cure to treat and cure all kinds of cancers at all four stages to people of all ages.

Yes. He smoked 5 packs of cigs a day! He had made a commercial telling people to not smoke. Also, Audrey Hepburn smoked like a chimney which contributed to her cancer. Cig smoke doesn't just affect the lungs. It affects all over your body.
He didn't "survive" prostate cancer. He was in remission. It just came back, as most cancers do, in another area of his body. Chemo kills the immune system. So the immune system is ravaged. If chemo doesn't kill you before the cancer does, and when the cancer comes back, and it will at one time or another, in some other form or another, it comes back with a vengence, I believe chemo has contributed to it. Chemo can be just as bad as the cancer itself.
