Hey Gabe, what is the relationship in price between a prototype one-off and regular prints?
Assuming the same filament and settings that your prototype wizard, I'm under the impression the cost-per-print would remain the same. Even at scale, since each piece requires X printing hours.
Until now I've been dropping files in the prototype wizard to provide accurate estimations of cost, but please let me know if this is not the case!
It's a smart move from a business standpoint. You do what you do best, 3D printing, and encourage others to also profit.
You mentioned custom building supports, but I haven't come across too many resources on how to do this.... I know a couple of your videos have touched on them, but it would be nice if there were some more instances for different applications

I really wish you guys sold a printer so developers could check their files. Maybe there is a software solution? Sellers need to feel certain that their files are reliable (or not). As is, the first use cases will be by super small print farms looking to scale a couple products
I believe they went over this in a recent video. They tried, but didn't work out, simply because they keep iterating on their printer, so the sold units wouldn't be representable for long
Fortunately we have worked really hard to make the API cost effective. So ordering prototypes until a developer understands the results from printing is not expensive. And any desktop machine would inform the results as well.
A good question to ask yourself is "how much" would you as a business owner pay for a 3d-printer, aka "custom tooling" that may only be used a few times if not happy with the results?
Compare this to the cost of ordering a test print. Expect you'd be able to order a few prints for the cost of just shipping a 3d-printer, if made available. (ie: less than the cost of shipping, and return shipping)
One possible workaround for any concerns is to make a design that has all the "features of concern" and test/order that. Is one way to validate multiple concerns in one interaction.
Maybe not a printer like a product, more like a developer kit.
can you do a python api too? the api apears to be only on js as far as I could see
Do you have a WooCommerce plugin/extension yet? If you did this would open the door for any of the 6+ million store fronts already available, mine being one of them.
Gonna be honest with you, man. Europe doesn't have anything large-scale print farms, would be up for it, but really don't know how to start.

Could use the Etsy plugin to get items printed and delivered as a start
@slant3d Etsy is a great option, but.. it's lesser known in Europe than the US. The only widely known marketplace is Ebay. I dont know if they have a way to implement a plugin.. Don't get me wrong, but I think that in the Eu. there is more money to be made with rapid prototyping. This industry is upcoming. It is worth taking a good look into the Etsy plugin.😀

The most known marketplace is Ebay. I'm not aware of Ebay having the plugin feature like Etsy does. I think a great rapid prototyping solution service is a far more suitable solution here in the EU. 😁

Already opened the print on demand app
I'm still somewhat dreaming of a Print-to-Peer network where you can submit your own private printer, set up stuff like capabilities, speed, location etc. and then people could effectively have this giant network of printers located all over the world.
But yeah, logistics and just regular human nature might not make it possible... Maybe in the future it could be individual "accepted" privately owned "smaller" print farms. But who knows.
So if we implement your API in our app or website and someone ordered items, so how can you ship items? If someone from other countries then isn't it hard to send product so far away?
Presumably you'd send them the address via the API and it verifies the address and alerts you to any problems.

You can use small models for testing and the basic feedback for initial connection
We also have an example app that you can reference for details on the endpoints.
