  • This video shows you how to remove the rear tire, tire tubes, and replace a flat tire tube.
    It also shows you how to prevent flat tires and stop flats.
    NOTE - Due to multiple questions about this. KEEP THE OLD TUBE CAP AND USE THAT ONE ON THE NEW TUBES.
    It's shorter than the one they give you with the new tubes and won't hit the frame.

    Hello I recently had a flat tire on my Hiboy S2Max and I watched your video. It didn’t seem correct to have to take apart the wires just to change a flat. I noticed the tires have a split ring / hub design. All you have to do is loosen the tire and take it out of the cradle and rest it on its side on the bottom of the frame with tube fill up. Remove all six Allen screws on the hub ring and the tire and tube will pull right off. Replace tube and tire then push down evenly so the center tire ring is just below the lip. Replace hub ring, fill with air and put tire back on and tighten nuts. It’s very easy and no messing with bottom plate and wires.

      That would be a great improvement! I will check this out on our next model!
      I noticed on all our new model Hiboys, there have been a lot of changes that make replacing parts much easier.
      The throttle is a nightmare replacing, BUT the new models have a plug and play design.
      So, in short, if they have split hubs now, that sounds much simpler. If all ours have split hubs too, I wasn't aware and apparently, neither is Hiboy since their support said you have to replace the entire thing in order to replace the tire.

    Hey man, I just replaced the tire tutorial that you made was pretty decent, but I feel like you made it more complicated than it needs to be. You do not need to open the bottom of the deck to replace the tire. You can slip it off of the side that does not have the cord.

      Like i show in the video, there are only a few wires and they are all color matching connections. No need to cut any wires, just the harnesses over them to get them to disconnect. You'll have to add new sleeves over them and just reverse the process when you put it back together. There isn't anything complicated about it. Don't over think it. Replace the tire and reconnect everything you disconnected.

    Just took care of my s2 Max flat. It’s pretty simple. Almost self explanatory. When you get to the split wheel hub plate. That must come off prior to the actual tire coming off. You’ll need a wrench, needle nose pliers, screw drivers, and Allen keys. I have a jump box so I aired it up at home.
    You can simply set the wheel on its side right where you took it out of.

    • @DarkMindsdotBIZ
      @DarkMindsdotBIZ  Před 9 měsíci

      Question... if you used the split method, may I ask how did you get past the permanent lock tight on the 12(?) Star bits?
      I went right out and grabbed my new hub/rim set they had sent me and every single screw but 1 just stripped out. Yes it's the right bit, and no I wasn't using a hammer drill.
      And yes I flipped it to the other side and stripped 3 of those. All soaked in permanent lock tight.
      So... what's your trick?

    • @thegreatd3860
      @thegreatd3860 Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@DarkMindsdotBIZ that may be the difference. Mine were hexagonal first and foremost. And they used moderate hood threadlockers. It was blue rather than red. Once I got the wheel itself detached, I took out my Allen key set and used that to remove the hexagonal bolts that kept the face plate for the split hub tightened. After those came out (all had blue threadlocker on it) I used the needle nose for the nut around the air valve.
      I did notice that a nut that held the wheel in its carriage had red loctite on it. That was a nasty process to get it off. Ended up using a wrench to pull the washer off.

    • @DarkMindsdotBIZ
      @DarkMindsdotBIZ  Před rokem

      Did you apart? The two wires coated with a rubber connector?
      If that's what you mean, ... very carefully slice the rubber cover with a razor blade... slow and careful. Its just a cover. The the wires can be separated. You'll need to replace that cover with another one. Heat shrink rubber cover. Put it on the wire BEFORE putting the wires back together.
      In the end... it's just a wire. It can always be spliced back together if all else fails.

    • @DarkMindsdotBIZ
      @DarkMindsdotBIZ  Před rokem +1

      Don't overthink it to much. Just go slow and think about what you're doing. Take apart, and put back together making sure everything is protected from water in anyway you believe will work best. These are not Teslas. Frame, motor, wires... after you accept that... all the worries go away.

He said its better this way and i will have no problems with it, to just make sure to put air in it often. But when i left the shop the scooter started vibrating and sounding like a jet engine. • @DarkMindsdotBIZ
      @DarkMindsdotBIZ  Před 8 měsíci +1

      You can just use normal wire connectors. Preferably a crimp type connector. Then, if you have it, use heat shrinking wire cover. (I forget the name) It's not critical at all. Just connect the wire securely. So it won't come apart with vibration.
      If you are going to use the shrink wrap over your connector, make sure you put it on BEFORE you crimp the wires back together. Lol
      The very best thing to use are these melting connectors... but it's a whole other deal. If ya have them, ya have them. It's not a necessity.

      The first tire I tried to repair, I ended up replacing with a solid tire. It's the same measurement as listed on the side of the tire. BUT, as I've stated before, you'll need a tire shop to put it on. Try it yourself if you like, but it's going to be very frustrating, and in the end, you'll PROBABLY end up at a tire shop.

  • @DarkMindsdotBIZ
    @DarkMindsdotBIZ  Před 11 měsíci

    The current replacement of the throttle is a nightmare (if you watch thier instructions for replacement).
    Hiboy - to eliminate the extreme measures needed for this simple replacement.... all you need to do is add a couple inches of wire, and connectors for the wires in the handlebars right near the throttle. This way you could simply remove the handlebar, pull off the grip, remove the brake and throttle, pull the extra wire out of the handlebar, unplug and replace... then put back together.... vs the extreme disassembly shown in your videos.
    If anyone hasn't watched the instruction videos.... they appear to be filmed with a toaster and the tech doesn't even do the job properly, nor show you what he is doing. Just rushes through it and does not replace wire protective parts.
