    Good On Ya, great content. I did Commercial fishing for about 4 years off of Cape Cod in Massachusetts, mostly Bluefin and Striped Bass. Hard way to make a living but you two are doing it proud!!!

    Gday mate another great video ,that is good they tag the crays gives info on how your fishery is going . Your right the sea is an unforgiving mistress i am only a rec fisher but i always wear a life jacket at all times anyone who comes out is told this and if they cant comply well please step ashore , i wear the safety lanyard so if the worst happens my boat is going to stop and i have my jacket on if needed you only need to slip and go over the side and you can be in a world of hurt in fact when i was out a week ago the police were out telling guys to put them on they didnt bother me i dont know what it is they are not a hinderence like the old days you dont even know your wearing it most times anyway id be happtyy to just catch one of those lobos take care .

      Hey! Good to hear. To be fair, it's just not worth the risk not wearing one. Especially on recreational boats.. due to size and lack of safety requirements/regulations imposed.
      So it's always good to hear.
      It's also true, new style life jackets are like wearing nothing. Haha definitely are big foamy anymore.

      i took a mate out one day and asked him if he had a life jacket and to bring it , well here he is with this thing you would buy from clark rubber 20 years ago . i always carry 2 in the boat so i told him to put it back in his car as he was embarasing me at my local ramp with that thing gave him my spare to wear dont think he has upgraded it either .

    Good one guys, do you ever chuck a line over and get some fresh fish or is it more like no way we see and eat it all the time give us a steak !

    • @Aussielobsterhunters
      @Aussielobsterhunters  Před 5 měsíci

      sadly due to new rules i have to make a prior fishing report if we want to fish... and other issues arise from that... haha but one day we will do rod and reel video

      @@scotttillotson3962 yes basically nothing unless the pot catches it. Haha weird rules I know.

    Another great video guys, what effect does the lice have on your catch? What exactly do the lice do, as it doesn't sound very good at all .

    • @Aussielobsterhunters
      @Aussielobsterhunters  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Lice can basically ruin a whole shot. 😒 which it did in this case. If numbers stayed as good as they were going. Would have been a 150 plus shot. But didn't happen 😞

    Hi Guys. Great videos.
    I am curious about the difference between "Red" and "Brindle" crayfish. Is the difference about the depth the cray lives in - shallow = red, deep = brindle? It seems there is a difference in the price you get, why is this?
    Many thanks and safe sailing!

    • @Aussielobsterhunters
      @Aussielobsterhunters  Před 4 měsíci

      Hey! Apologies for a late reply. You are correct with colour and depth.
      They are the same species of lobster/crayfish. Even cooler is the fact they will change to either brindle or red depending on the depth they live and eat.
      But in saying that...a large red lobster can fetch upwards of $40 per kg in difference. Which is arguably just stupid. However we are told "that's what the markets want"
