Fort zancudo is a military facility, so it shoots down immediately, but the yacht is privately owned, so it seems to put warning shots first, but when it comes too close, it shoots down.
I could actually believe the warning shots part. I've watched jets come after me on my yacht and get absolutely get cratered by the defenses. But when I flew close to a yacht with air defenses with my slow Ultralight, it fired a bunch of explosives but none hit before I turned and fled.
Zancudo has another defense system other than the jet. Its the first thing that locks onto you before a jet can spawn and hit you. Its usually an insta-kill and you have mere seconds before instant death
@vxlkrye yup. It's litterally a soldier with an rpg but when he shoots it not only does it home but it shoots multiple rockets at one time out of the same rpg. It looks really weird but they definitely don't mess around. Think of the ballistic missile launcher vehicle from gtao in terms or fire rate

You did not mention the fact that there is a helicopter called "Sparrow" that the Yacht defenses cannot shoot down, because they cannot identify the helicopter despite it having weapons.

Maybe not everyone knows but as soon as you want to leave the base with a fighter plane there is a point at the end of the runway from which if you fly from it the army plane will not shoot you
Weird they call it an “Army” base when it’s obviously an “AirForce” base but then again not sure why there’s tanks.

@@Dilllonm stills get insta destroyed cuz yatch defence has no damage cap its like being hit by orbital strike besides you buy the yacht once and never again and its the safest spawn not like the apartments to have tank camping outside and on top you get free heli plus boats and any heli/hydra parked in the other unused heli pad will be saved always be there even if its not yours but stolen until destroyed or you moved it some where else but after all yatch maybe be expensive but really stonks knowing the benefits of the extra helipath and having a literal anti griffers safe zone and for the cheery on top you can get bounty and stay on your yatch and watch all the idiots who are willing to die for almost nothing trully a sight to behold to see how desperate/dump people can be.

And it’s important to note that if you try to shoot at someone when there yatch defence is or try to railgun or snipe them the shot will just be redirected back into the water so your safe if someone tries to shoot u from far away with thermal and sniper

I like the fact that a Yacht kill a random guy with parachute, not let use weapons, but you can park next to it with a boat, and spam grenades with grenade launcher on it.

Im not sure but i think zancudo have ground to air defense systems too
it does four to five jeeps spawn with 1 soldier in it each. They either have very good assault rifles or homing RPGs not joking. Go see a video made by someone else specifically about zancudos defense systems that will explain.

The Yacht has always had the best Defenses. That is where my friends and I would go if we had a heavy wanted level. Heck we would fight from there with a wanted level just to see the helicopters get shot down.
The yachts defenses is one of those forgotten things such as what is one of the most powerful weapons in the game, it can blow up Insurgents in one or two shots and from what I’ve heard the Avenger only takes two shots from this thing, and it is the Flak guns on the AA trailer.
Me and my buddy would get on his yacht in bad sport lobbies and troll sweats with the yacht defense on 😭😂
Granted I haven’t tried this since PlayStation 3 but you could get out of the army base stealing a jet by just holding in the gear stick to look behind you while you fly out.
If only the yacht had CIWS turrets installed, it would make the yacht that much cooler.
Should compare the USS Lexington too, as it does have air defenses

I remember back then when Fort Zancudo was actually fun and you could dogfight the lazers with equally slow and bad targeting missiles instead of just blowing up instantly. I know it was made this way so ppl online would haveit harder to get the lazer to grief, but they added it on solo too so... Ye if I want a lazer i gotta reload saves from 2015 where I had lazers.

You should've used the toreador instead of the moon pool vehicle (forgot the name). I've had a few experiences where my toreador is blown up under the surface, but at surface level I've been fine
Yeah i find that pretty bullshit and it unusually has a wide range too. Doesnt help when sandy shores is a mine field when trying to get into the sub

On the yatch if you go near it but in a zigzag way the missiles won't damage you, but you won't be able to shoot the weapons
Yacht is way better because you can move it around and create a Forward Operating Base (FOB). Many people own the hangar at the military base so the defense system only engages if they attack you with weapons. They can still troll you and and ram you, etc. I like using my sub in conjunction with the yacht. You can put the sub right next to it and then launch missiles on to ground targets if you are good enough and then launch the sparrow once you have exhausted your aircraft parked on your yacht (hydras, MKIIs, etc) The yacht is also impervious to Orbital strikes.
When I’m doing the mission for the data leak and I go to the yacht with my oppressor without dying from the defenses or I have a few seconds to land and continue?
I don’t know if this still works.
But when I used to steal Lazers from the army base, I held down the rear camera button until I was far enough away from the base, and this didn’t cause enemy jets to spawn in.
I wonder if you can low with the yacht defenses? Because I know if you fly right over the fence in online at the fort nothing will shoot at you.
You should try to parachute into El Rubios compound, he have some very uniqe air defense.

u can also just stick to the ground or look back while flying to deny lazer jets from spawning
I knew the jets shoot explosive machinegun with the spawn and then a backup of non stop missiles barrage

You forgot about the zancudo defense system in story mode
When getting a jet from base fly low and have the camera always looking back a jet will never spawn after you 🤟🏻

You literally can do that. Only way to counter it is the Sparrow as air defenses don't target that. And to counter that, just switch to Periscope missiles.

the yacht is glitchy i sometimes fly by my friends yacht and it shoots me down even if im in there ceo/biker club, hell most of the time they have the air defense off

My yacht never uses its defenses I had it enabled and some dude just hung out just a few hundred feet from my yacht tryna blow it up and all my captain says is don't worry captain don't let the missiles ruin your time lol

There’s a way to get a car to the yacht just grab a cargobob and drop the car on there Ocelot Stromberg or the Karin Technical Aqua lol
Well if your in a helicopter above zancudo then the first weapon system will fire and kill you immediately , if your in the jet or another plane then the first weapon system never misses and will weaken you and then a jet will spawn , by the way if you manage to escape the base then a jet will chase you down , and in the video when you road your car in where the hell was all the soldiers the tanks the jeeps where was all that , by the way if you somehow get into the base then you will get chased by jeeps with 4 soldiers inside and tanks and also sometimes a jet will be in the air and shoot you while your on land and if you try to escape with anything on that base it’s impossible , it’s possible to get the truck and the Barricks that’s it.
