When to Overwinter Ensete Maurelli| Potted Ensete Storage Method

Ensete is well loved plant for tropical setting but does require winter protection.
It can be stored anywhere where temperature don't fall below freezing and no moisture touches the plant.

Thanks for this I was quite successful overwintering last year, cut off the leaves, washed and dried the roots and packed it in a box wrapped in newspaper. I think the main thing I've found is that it doesn't like fluctuations in temperature . It's all learning. Good luck

Great info thanks. I'll wait a bit longer to dig them up. I'm in two minds this year with the loft option and leaving them in dry compost or triming them rite back and growing them on indoors with just enough watering to keep them ticking over.
Last year I dug them up far too early and lost a few. All part of learning. Keep the vids coming, thank you.

@@urbantropicaluk I don't think they will survive outside . I kept mine inside a plastic greenhouse erected inside my shed with a little heater last year and still lost some. I do think I put them there far too early also.

@@urbantropicaluk in england there are several avocado trees that produce fruit, i have pictures of them even if you want to see them
I have already sent more than 100 avocado seeds, of the cold-resistant Mexican variety, to England and they are growing very well
