How you don’t burst out laughing every time you see that awful hot toys cowl I have no idea. They should be ashamed at what they did. Unreal killed it with this updated sculpt 💪
It’s absurd that they have not done this figure justice since 2013-or whenever they last used this headsculpt?
As for this custom headsculpt, it looks amazing, but I already have the version one. Don’t see a need in upgrading. This Hot Toys figure already cost almost a grand after capes, headsculpts and missing accessories. Good lord. 😂

Terrific attention to detail, and compelling as ever Dean. You're like the Mauler (great CZcamsr) of the figure collecting world. I really like the Toyfair Exclusive suit. It's not just the colour, but also that it has a worn look. And yes, the 2.0 sculpt is an absolute beast - the side-by-side with Hot Toys latest makes the the latter look like a drip, there's just no intimidation there.

It's crazy to think that the other one you had could get any better. But it did.
You were just talking about the capes. And you pulled out all your old Batman begins photos, even buying the scenes photography. And it instantly hit me. That movie was in 2005 😱😱🤯🤯🤯 The cameras back then were not nearly as good as what we have today. My camera phone has better photo qualities than my camera's did back in 2005. I think the whole debate on the darkness and the contrast between the suit being so drastic in your eyes has to do with the quality and megapixel of the camera. That's just my opinion though brother. Think about it 🤔🤔🤔🤫🤫🤫 either way that is a awesome Batman sculpt
I really respect your decision to get the okay from the custom artists. Both are extremely talented. I currently have the original Unreal Toys head sculpt on the Toy Fair body. I have the OT 2.0 head on the way. His work is amazing, but if I had a critique, it would be this one’s strength…the narrowing of the eyes. I will see when I get it in hand. Also, I believe the prototype OT head you have is dated compared to his current ones. If you do a comparison video, please use his most current work for fairness.

This cowl is by far my favorite Begins sculpt to date. I recently tried to buy a begins figure on deep discount but after Sideshow sent me 2 duds they wouldn't allow me to exchange anymore, so I just sent it back. If I can get the base Hot Toy for under $100 ill bite, but if not ill have to wait for something better.

Not bad at all but in my personal (and friendly) opinion, based on everything I've seen thus far, I prefer the OT Customs one. OT got Bale's likeness right. This one isn't far off, but I'm not getting as strong of a likeness.
Both custom headsculpts beat Hot Toys, though. Great work by the artists!

Ok here goes…. Controversial take… first I’ll say that on the positive unreal has gotten the cowl right insofar as it having a thicker neck and more intimidating looking… the expression is mean which is great… however in my humble opinion the faceplate does not look at all like Christian Bale… I’d love to see the film still this is based on because I cannot see Bale’s likeness! Even more controversial I think the resting expression on the hot toys face plate looks more like Bale! Although the HT cowl is terrible… anyway just my twopence worth… superb review as always Dean! 🙌
